"We Were Liars" is the official movie adaptation of the best-selling American novel by E. Lockhart. With the screenplay adapted and produced by Cara Zayn with support from Director Julian Morello. The project was one that Cara Zayn was desperate to get the greenlight for, having met with E. Lockhart in late 2015, she was given the go ahead and filming began in the summer of 2016 and wrapped in a six week timeframe. Since then Cara and Julian have been finishing up post-production for the film and the movie which see's "Elle-Rose Whiteley" appear as the lead star alongside a number of young and relatively unknown actors and actresses.

It marks the first movie written by Cara Zayn, following on from her creation of the Netflix original drama series, "Obsession". It's unknown whether she has plans to move more permanently into the film industry, but it's expected that the release of "We Were Liars" will be seen as a relative success for a debut movie. The movie cost around $8 million to make and will be released on December 30, 2016 and distributed through 20th Century Fox.

Plot;

Cadence Sinclair Eastman, heiress to a fortune her grandfather amassed “doing business I never bothered to understand,” is the narrator. The story begins during her 15th summer when she suffers a head injury on the private island Granddad owns off Cape Cod. Cady vacations on Beechwood every year with her mother, two aunts, and—most importantly—the other liars of the title: cousins Mirren and Johnny, and Gat Patil, the nephew of Aunt Carrie’s longtime boyfriend.

The book unfolds two summers later, with Cadence trying to piece together the memories she lost after the accident while up against crippling headaches, a brain that feels “broken in countless medically diagnosed ways,” and family members who refuse to speak on the subject (or have been cautioned not to). She has no memory of the accident other than what her mother told her. Still, she wants to find out what happened and why the details don't match up.

During this 17th summer, the book takes a strange turn where Cadence is trying to piece together what happened during the 15th summer. Flashes of her past come back while she hangs out with the liars. She wonders why none of them responded to her emails, and why Gat never visited her while she was recovering.

The younger cousins, often referred to as the littles, speak of the houses on the island being haunted. The aunties are hugging more than they used to, and the main house of the island has been rebuilt. None of the old things from the house were kept.
More memories of the past resurface when Cadence directly asked the liars to tell her what happened. She recalled setting fire to the main house, Clairmont. The liars were supposed to do it together and meet up in Cuddletown, Auntie Bess's house.

Only Cadence showed up. She knew what she did, and what she hadn't done. She finally remembered. Her cousins, her liars, where dead. At the end, Cadence has to let go. She says good bye to her liars at Beechwood beach.

Interesting! It seems like I am going to start watching other shows other than the Andy Yeatman shows as well now. I was not able to find good content anywhere and after I saw his shows, there was no match to it. Good to have come across this post.
