Just a glimpse into my Twitter feed haha. I'm glad that you've worked something out and it really is for the best. Having security is weird at first but you get used to it and it really does help lift a lot of pressure and fear. I had to swallow my pride at first when accepting security but it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Have you already hired people? Be sure to thoroughly screen them first. Failing that, I could always double as a bodyguard haha |

Yeah, it was my manager Billy who convinced me to get security. It's not the easiest task to change my mind but when your life is on the line, you do what's best. Plus I didn't want to disagree with Billy. He had a cattle prod. Yeah I don't strike up friendships with staff. Business is business. Seems cold but if it comes to firing someone, it's going to be much harder if you have a good friendship with them. No ice cream dates for those on the payroll. Speaking of, I'm still up for ice cream one day if you are.

i was thinking it was nice that billy was sensible....then you mentioned the cattle prod. you could always probably save money by just slapping a "protected by billy" sticker on yourself. only the most nutty would cross you then. i've actually never had help. everyone involved in the hess machine,at least until recently, was one of us. we usually do all our own driving,instrument tech'ing,even our manager is just cassie. gretchen operates the merch booth at shows. it is going to be weird having outsiders around. i dont know how people do it. i am kind of scared later on someone will write a tell all book about what goes on with us.how do you get past that? joshua,any time is ice cream time.

Yeah Billy has a big heart but he...has his odd ways of showing affection. I challenge world leaders, governments and militia but when you see "that look" in Billy's eyes, it's best for everyone just to agree. I have had a lot of stuff spread about me all over the internet so there's not much else an insider could leak that'd hurt me. It's part and parcel of being in the spotlight, being talked about. I carefully screen and inspect people I hire but even if they were to betray my trust and write some tacky book, I'd just shake my head in disgust. Imagine wanting 15 minutes of fame that bad? We're the ones making a real living here, reaching a bigger audience and spreading an even bigger message and movement. We're above salaciousness. Everyone has their secrets but when there's a witch hunt for the skeletons in your closet, you just learn to detach from shame. We should dive further into this conversation over ice cream. I'm more of a vanilla man myself.
