Concentration is a beautiful thing and a curse all in one. Scratch had been behind the bush for some time, and had it not been for the fact that he was concentrating like all hell, he might well have seen Chris jump out and have endured the flight of his life. However, he may also have seen what else was going on behind the bush. As he's stood there scanning the garden, unaware now that everyone was watching his every move, he fails to see a little movement behind him, directly behind him in fact. What he does register is the slight tap on his shoulder, subtle but enough to be felt. He shrugs at first, still intent on watching for the chicken , but then he feels it again, annoying and distracting. "Shhhh, fam," he whispers, but still the tapping on his shoulder continues. Now rather irked by the person trying to ruin his hunt, he looks around only to find that it wasn't a person, nor was it a tapping on his shoulder. One look at the frankly massive spider that had crawled from the wall onto his tshirt, staring at him intently with every last one of its beady eyes, was almost enough to end Scratch, an arachnophobic, right there and then, but he managed to maintain his grip on life. His cool? Well that was another matter. If the people of the CBB house had previously been enjoying rather a quiet show, what happened next was about the shatter the peace.
"FUUUUUUUCK," comes the bellow from the shrubbery, followed milliseconds later by a rapper, careering through the bush, sending branches and leaves everywhere like a cloud of smoke. It was fight or flight alright, and Scratch's mind was booked on first class out of there. He darts across the garden as if he had just been ejected from a cannon, and before he knows what's happening, he's in the air, headed straight for the pool. He must have been a good twenty feet from it when he jumped, but a spider assisted leap that would shatter the long jump world record takes him, panicking and flailing in mid air, straight into the water in spectacular fashion, sending a tidal wave of water across the garden. When he surfaces a few seconds later, a shellshocked looking Scratch is breathing heavily. "Jesus christ...tried to fucking kill me," he gasps. |
