I've decided to relaunch the album charts. The forum has died down over the years but some great releases have been posted during this downtime. I feel like your work deserves more than 3 likes and 1 comment before falling down pages and forgotten about. I know how much time and effort goes into creating albums and EPs. Many real music artists have TEAMS of people helping them to create albums and they all have budgets and fans to cater to. We, on the other hand, do this for our own enjoyment, on our own, and still do more writing than a bunch of real artists. You all deserve some recognition.

I feel like the charts just help to keep the names of your characters and your written music "out there". I know a lot of people don't care about chart positions and I don't either. This isn't really about getting a #1. It's more about trying to keep our work in circulation, TRY to recapture the good old days and hopefully encourage more people to release full length albums again.

The charts will obviously not be as hectic and demanding as before. With very few releases and on average two/three voters on my chart links, there's no point in me busting my arse over this. I may just make the album charts a monthly thing or bi-weekly depending on how it goes. I'll also only be revealing first week sales for new albums as well as the #1 spot, making it more realistic. Music fans nowadays seem to be obsessed with the numbers an album does first week.

We haven't had much in that two year time frame but I know there have been a few releases and this is the first chance to revive them.
