exactly fifty years ago, Americans were shitting bricks! exactly fifty years ago, Russians were parading the streets! kinda funny how things turned around. Not that Russian lifestyle got bad, it's always been tough for us Soviet kids but they ACTUALLY honored and respected Gagarin here in the states today. Edited by user 13 April 2011 08:36:51(UTC)

It is ironic seeing as he's one of the reason we started seriously working on our space program. I still think he's a hero though, it's not just a Soviet/Russian thing, like Neil Armstrong put it "One small step for (a) Man, one giant leap for mankind", when he went into space it was for the advancement of mankind in general. Plus "Poyekhali!" is such a bad ass catchphrase. |

We just say it now. It just means "let's drive". Still, the man is an icon, he died too early. But at least he died doing what he loved, and the soviets couldn't stop him from doing it, and that my friend is flying. |

Neil Armstrong...the biggest blooper in history and still a lot of people don't know. Also, at the risk of upsetting any of my patriotic US chums...I don't think they actually went to the moon. I think it was a case of "yo...check out what the soviets just did...?" "Duuuuude like totally no waaaay" (it was hippy time) "we better like totally go to the moon and shiiit" "man you're totally tripping....but that's awesome!"
I really don't know where I'm going with that dialogue lol, but suffice to say; Russians - went to space, Americans - did not go to the moon. |

I used to not believe we landed on the moon, but even if Apollo 11 didn't, we've had several landings since. So first people on the moon maybe not but I'm sure we got to it. |

Yeah, maybe you have been since (not you obviously but your countrymen lol), maybe you haven't, I can't say either way. I'm totally convinced that absolutely no bugger went to the moon in 1969 though. |

I really don't know where I'm going with that dialogue lol, but suffice to say; Russians - went to space, Americans - did not go to the moon. now, who knows? maybe they really did go to the moon. I too am skeptical, but hell, the likelihood of that probably isn't 100%, but it's one of those types of things were hell, you really are confused. There are reasons why they may have lied about it, seeing as an excuse to show off to the Russians and raise American morale. Plus, the landing vid was pretty well orchestrated. The way the spoke and all, seemed kinda scripted to me, at least. Still, chances could still be that it could have been real. I mean, America was also busy at work on making a trip to space. They too started sending out satellites as quickly as they could once the Soviets began releasing satellites. Really wouldn't be that surprising that they got people into space, especially 8 years after the Russians. Still, I doubt it happened, but that's just me. |

They went to the Moon. If you don't think they went to the Moon, you are wrong.
Yes, of course it was scripted... They knew it was being televised, and they didn't want to land on the moon and go "Well... Here we are. It's kind of grey here, and, uh, my balls are itchy in this suit." |

I don't think they went...even with a script, if you really landed on the moon, you'd be like "Fucking hell, the actual fucking fucking moon! Amazing!" |

Guys, I'm fucking sick of this. I'm almost 20 and haven't been able to score a better job than a fucking cook at a local fast food joint. I live in a small town so business is pretty limited, and where I work is the only place that'll hire high school graduates. I'd get the hell out of this town if I could actually drive too, but I've failed every damn test I've ever taken. I'm socially awkward, even my only other co-worker fucking hates my guys. I have repressed lust for one of my best friends too; she's athletic, smart and a gorgeous southern bell. I love her. You know what it's like; I've been friend zoned real hard. She's my only real friend, besides this one kid, who i'm pretty sure is only hanging around me because he is mentally challenged. I guess he's the only one that can tolerate me. And what makes this all fucking worse is that i live in a fucking pineapple under the sea!!! |

I was playing The Sims Medieval last night and I'm amazed at how 'adult' this game is. I made my king get his wife pregnant, and she said 'there's nothing better in life. I think we should keep trying to make sure your heir is on the way'. I was like O.O And your king can kill people with his sword, even when they don't do anything wrong. |
