Here's some lyrics I wrote. Anxious

Okay, so I didn't, but they're amazing in my opinion - and the great thing is I've only known them for about 12 hours, and I already know them off by heart:

Thee Silver Mt. Zion - The Triumph of Our Tired Eyes

Sisters and brothers,
We have surely lost our way.
In strip malls full of cancer,
And a pathetic rain.
And lover, sweet lover
Please don't discipline your hands.
Just kiss me in the morning,
In your dirtiest pants.

We will find our way.

We will find our way.

There is beauty in this land,
But i don't often see it.
There is beauty in this land,
But i don't often feel it.

Pimples are flowers,
Musicians are cowards!
Let's argue in the kitchen,
For hours and hours.
Tomorrow is a travesty,
Tomorrow should be ours.
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!
Musicians are cowards!

The soldiers with their specialists
And the pigs with their guns cannot stop,
The lost ones and the desparate ones and the driven ones.

The soldiers with their cigarettes
And the pigs with their guns cannot stop,
The lonesome ones and the desparate ones and the smart ones.

So come on friends,
To the barricades again.

So come on friends,
To the barricades again.

So come on friends,
To the barricades again.

So come on friends,
To the barricades again.

We will find our way,
We will find our way

When we finally cross the barricades with the angels on our side
When we finally deny all the popular lies
When we finally let doubt and worry die
How will it feel?

What a lovely song :) I've actually fallen in love with it, I think it's brilliant.

I also happen to be drinking stupidly expensive Christmassy Mulled Wine which just makes it all the better.

Recently I've found Hangedup, simply by scanning through Wikipedia's assossiated acts. I haven't yet had the time to look any further than that, annoyingly =/ I have a bitch of an essay coming up and I have to do reasearch for it now so I have like no time to go trawling through numerous artists, however tomorrow I'll look some more at Hangedup who are pretty good from what I've heard, but hopefully I'll find some other new stuff.

To keep this on the topic of lyrics though, I find Death Cab For Cuties - Different Names for The Same Thing lyrically brilliant, not sure why. Personal reasons I guess, but beddy bies time now :)

Try not and overdose on this stuff, but my personal picks of the Constellation roster would be Hangedup, Do Make Say Think, Polmo Polpo, and that one Sackville EP that pretty much makes me weep for the fact Sackville were so short-lived and unappreciated.

Here's some things I wrote as long as five years ago that I just dug up and found amusing:

At Detriment to Solvent Abuse
(14/03/04)

So the land of milk and honey
Is the land of cows and bees?
I guess nothing is something
You cannot attain with relative ease

And one smile fights the thousand frowns in my eyes
Knowledge was worth so much in the Garden of Eden
But for the serpent’s curse we still would not be wise
Now just a remnant of a nomad’s hand-me-downs

So the land of milk and honey
Is the land of cows and bees
And the cows earn all the money
While the bees bend their knees

Fields of Skin
(31/05/04)

Crawling across fields of parching skin
Over stitched and sewn patchwork
Pinpricks black and white scattered
Bruised and broken lines

And beyond the hills a burning red sun descending
Dragging melanoma scarred and blotching

New Existentialist Nightmare
(12/07/05)

There’s a fissure opening in the Earth
Fibre-optic wires through the sky
And messianic visions punctuate every scathing night
There’s no escape from the clawing machines
They’re snapping at my heels
To claim their pound of flesh

Swallow self-engineered drug
Ignorance is the human condition
Harangues fall on the deaf ears of the pulsating mass
Party hard vomit love through your
Long lost meanings and piss
Your hearts out in modernity

The new empire owns you
Everybody duck lest the boot
Catch you midst its own pendulum swing
Linear and technomagickal
Nightmares breed ad hoc paranoia
Panic if you really exist

Boy was Summer '05 a fucked-up time for me.

Here's a new one I wrote I like it, it's about religion named after a work by Atheist Richard Dawkins. I don't care about your lyrics just tell me what you think about mine first haha.

Viruses of the Mind
Viruses of the mind enslaving minds of others
Infecting men who aren't worthy to truly be above us
Covering eyes that seek the truth past this violent illusion
Those who follow blind men blindly are truly disillusioned

Mind clouded with lies
Two thousand years old
Infecting the world as we know it
Ignorance can be cold
Viruses of the mind
Multiplying,gaining number
Viruses of the mind
Intelligence toppling over

I, Refuse to be taken by ignorance
My ears aren't open for listening
I will not embrace false hope
Or imaginary gods

Not believing in non-existant Nazarenes
Or in a staged resurrection
I will believe only what I see
With true justification

The flesh will not conceal
Or cover my eyes
No longer shall I abide
By rules made by common fools

A constant war
Soon it finally will end
We're fighting for
The end of all religion

Here's some absurd nonsense I wrote last month. About a man who dreamt he crawled out of an underground throne-chamber, and invited a bunch of bishops to a banquet, and then killed them. What the fuck?

Still, some hilarious imagery in there. And in-jokes and references, and melodrama.

The Bloody-Handed God
(23/01/10)

The sky wheeled around
For seven lifetimes
And I have risen from my grey dreams
To resolve the burning sigil
I will crawl out from the parchment of this codex

Not bound nor entwined
For seven lifetimes
But counting all the hours all the same
Still upon my illuminated throne
At the centre of the superseded Earth

And in my malaise
Lifted I, a brush to this easel
But my hand would not respond
So at last I dropped the instrument
Put my fist through the canvas
And through the flesh of the Earth
Worming ever upwards
Pulling myself to the surface

As balance shifted me across the plains
Toward the well of psychic gravity
Still stumbling drunk on my own name
I stepped into the parlour
To prepare the holy feast
For the ombudsmen of the archaic and labyrinthine laws
Only to paint them red like my bloody hands

Later in the dining hall
Set fast in their places
Their faces all aglow all in my splendour
The ombudsmen conversing joyfully
The hall was filled with laughter
Until I served them plates of rotting uncooked flesh
And cast a pall across the evening
To set the tone for later

Fear and flame flickering
Cast a dance upon my wall
While spilled from my charred tongue
A bituminous elegy of my designs
The ombudsmen wreaked their wretched weeping
Upon the superfluous but lavishly prepared table before them.

So now in the dining hall
Set fast in their places
Their faces all trembled at my splendour
The ombudsmen begged me pathetically
The hall was filled with slaughter
Until I left them piles of bloody flesh
I stepped through doors onto my dying lawn
Dragging their flayed hides

And spilling out beneath my bleeding heels
On the parched dry Earth of my once magnificent garden
Will spread a carnelian blight
A poison that will poison the world

Oh lovely plumbing how lovely you are with your rust and all that nice little stuff yes it’s very nice just like the weather don’t you think so it looks almost blueish yet with a small teint perhaps a teint of I don’t know let’s call it uhm perhaps uhm yes I know it’s called blorange a mix of blue and orange yes blorange but I wonder if that’s a crayon color that’s what I am wondering about I definitely hope so otherwise I’d have to make it but nah that would be too much work wouldn’t it making a crayon and all that stuffs you know those stuffs are hard but then again then I could say I has a blorange crayon.

I wrote this lovely lyric for my FAWM project. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to record it now, but I'll still do it at a later date (ie. when I can be bothered). Imagine Yngwie Malmsteen meets Down syndrome meets Microsoft Sam meets metronome meets alcohol.
