This has reminded me of who I saw supporting Finntroll. A Finnish band called Battlelore. ALL their songs are about Middle Earth. It's horrific.

Ah yes, I remember seeing them live in 2004 or 2005. It was pretty damn awful.

I dunno, I just fucking loath all these bands doing that whole JRR Tolkein shtick. I mean it wasn't even very cool when the black metal kids in Norway did it, and that's been 20 years since Isengard and Uruk-Hai formed!

I could do without Tolkien themes, but it won't draw me away from listening to something like Summoning

I wouldn't care if the music was any good. Unfortunately, BATTLELORE's music is about as interesting as the plot of a porno flick.

Sadly I think that does a disservice to the many, many mediocre porn flick storylines out there.

I think he's like Obelix. Well Obelix was dropped in the Cauldron of magic potion as a child and so now doesn't need to ever take any as he's already massively strong. In the same way, Paul was clearly dropped into a vat of LSD as a bairn, and it has permanently addled his mind.

Really, what is not to love about this song? Old boy Lennon sure could pen an interesting lyric.
