prophets will get its official release on july 7th. no touring will be in support of this due to my busy amount of touring i have going on with quarantine and casting thin shadows but my second solo album should be out if not october than november or december. the next solo album will be more folk rock. filled with an acoustic guitar, and than some loud electric guitars in the mix. also gonna go ahead and tell you that a close friend of mine is helping me out with the album. so far it is to be called "put your demons to rest". there is one song i have written so far called "it dwells in me". it sounds awesome. just thought i'd update everyone.

just thought i'd update everyone that casting thin shadows has released it's first single from the new album. 'public enemies' is avaliable worldwide now. if you haven't heard i'm recording my vocals for giorgio galfore of transferium project solo album he has planned out. it sounds sick so far. also if you've been watching 'i'm a rockstar! get me outta here' then i suggest you make sure my good ole friend alex sin stays on the show and wins. hes been supporting a grizzly ole man beard now haha its quite funny. he's trying so hard on the show to make it and i think he is doing a great job.

onto the next solo album...i'm still gathering up who i want to be apart of it. it might not be out until october or november now it's looking like but it will be out before the years over. like i said before this will be more of a dark indie type vibe sound not no shoe-gaze or depeche mode type stuff. well i just thought i'd update everyone.

later,
regan futrell

A Message From Regan:
"I know it has been speculations going around saying Casting Thin Shadows are back for good. No we aren't. This might be our last tour and last album. We aren't quite sure what we are gonna do yet and we will inform everyone as soon as we do. As for now we will be releasing a double disc live album in December then if not a new studio album most likely a B-Sides album. Just thought I'd let everyone know."

haven't been able to update anyone off my site in the longest time and i apolgize. if you haven't heard we lost a member from casting thin shadows. we tried to keep touring but it was just to stressful so we parted ways until we feel it's right to come back. it might be next month, or it might be 10 years from now who knows? anyways..............quarantine are in the studio and we are making a kickass cd! i hope we will get to do a world tour this time around and get to play everywhere we didn't get to play at last time around. also i'll be cranking up the old tunes sometime soon! i will be announcing a short U.S. solo tour and UK tour sometime soon. don't know when but that is on the agenda. so is releasing a new e.p. before the years over. the third studio solo album i'm not sure when it will be released. i'll be sure to update everyone when we have the dates and etc. as for now if you need me quarantine recently launched a new website to keep track of their recording process. its: www.quarantine-rx.net. be sure to see me on the new bunker18 debut album whenever it does come out. but for now just goto quarantine-rx.net to keep track on what's going on.

thanks,
-rf

haven't been on to update anyone because been just really busy getting quarantine off the ground again but anyways...

quarantine have released their second studio album titled 'Rx' which is out worldwide. it has been nominated for best rock album at the first annual mother fucking rock awards! you should check it out. it's doing really well so far and i hope it stays that way. we are on tour with pilot for their 'Remember The Future' tour which also has our great friend who helped produced 'Rx' opening up with us as well, jakey comatose. enough of that.

what projects am i working on now? i think the fans should be able to know what i'm working on so they can keep up with what i'm doing so here it is:
-touring with quarantine
-helping alex sin on some songs for his upcoming new solo album
-putting vocals and some guitar parts on vincent hales bunker18 album
-making arrangements for a huge co-headlining tour for next year
-writing new quarantine songs with the band
-demoing for a new solo album. that's right.

in fact i'll be releasing the "Twenty-Three" e.p. very soon which will feature a new demo titled "Exhausted". it will also feature a b-side from the last solo album called "Wolf's Neck". now when i say demoing for a new solo album that doesn't mean i'm hoping in the studio soon for it. i've been recording these demos on the road. i don't plan on releasing a new solo album until after the next quarantine album is released.

for the casting thin shadows part. i have been editing the live performance and that's why it's taking so long. in fact it's been pushed back to december. sorry guys! but it will be released soon i promise!

enough about me. what about you? how has your day been? let me know and i might respond back! :)

Thanks man. Really appreciate that.

So we are already done recording Amneisa and The Catalyst. We gotta record some B-Sides over the next couple of days but the whole album is done. We've got a huge announcement to make with Quarantine. Also bunker18 will release it's debut album on Valentine's Day next year. I'm writing songs for my new solo record and so far I'm going into a goth 80s rock type of sound here I guess. This solo album is going to be for true classic Casting Thin Shadows fans because the songs remind me somewhat to that but I'm not trying to sound like that so I'll probally scrap that out not to sure. Really don't have much to say. Just thought I'd let everyone know Quarantines first half of the double album "Amneisa" comes out January 12th. The single "Minus" comes out December 27th. We want to enter the decade on top and I think we can do that. Haha like I care for fame?

Love,
-RF

so the new solo album will be titled "Doves". it will be produced by me and I might have some collaborations on it might not. really just trying to prove i still got it on this record. that was the goal. sounds great. it's upbeat, ambient, goth rock, little bit of 90s grunge. grunge has always been my favorite type of rock so i pay homage on some tracks.

i started a new label with my pal comatose records. well we both started it. my solo album will be released off the label in march. a new e.p. will be out next month so look out!

love,

regan speaks on "Meet My Phantom(Who Never Goes Away)":
"I went back and basically just reinvented myself with music. The sound on this album is much more raw, fast-tempo, in-your-face, and it sure is my best work I think. I've been listening to the Sounds of Animals Fighting and Circa Survive writing this album and it sounds incredible. Very experimental, very dark. The first single hasn't been picked yet but I plan to release a free E.P. called "I'm Wrong". The track is on the album but it won't be the first single. It also has another new song called "Flock of Doves" that is looking towards being the albums closer if it gets chosen to be on the album. I plan to have this released by March 12th if not earlier. The album will most likely be out mid-March and I'll do a short US and UK tour until we get time to hit the studio with A Static Theory. I'll also announce more details on the albums inspiration later. The free E.P. should be out sometime this week."

"I'm Wrong" E.P.
01. I'm Wrong
02. Flock of Doves
03. Twenty-Three(bunker18 remix)

it was confirmed that all of this will be released through Regan and Jakey Comatose label "Comatose Records".

03.29.10: new album is titled 'Meet My Phantoms, Who Never Seem To Go Away'. this solo album was co-produced by jakey and i. i was joined by mark and langdon from the band enoch to record drums and bass for me. this solo album is the true me i believe. it is upbeat, dark, experimental, goth rock, and just some laid back music to listen to! even recorded an instrumental on this album. haven't done one of them in awhile. heres the tracklist:

01. Ghostwalking
02. Underneath The Stars
03. Creatures
04. I'm Wrong
05. De-Ceit(My Funeral Service)
06. Miranda, I Told You Once
07. Decay Of Silence
08. Blackout
09. Of Time & Patience
10. Flock of Doves

Single Tracklisting:
01. Ghostwalking
02. I'm Wrong
03. 10:15 Saturday Night(The Cure Cover)

album will be released april 6th and the single will be released this friday. this album deals with the struggle of keeping friends and family over music and the depression i've been going through due to personal reasons. it's not a depressing record by a long shot. i love the album and i think everyone else who has followed me since my casting thin shadows days will love it! tour to be announced soon!

p.s.
jakey hang in there man! coming to pay you a visit soon. this record is dedicated to you and you will be the first one to get a copy!

love,

Mark and I would like to offer a little commentary on our musical approach for this album. It was guided by Regan, so it closely follows his vision, but we found a good middle ground to work from. Before we got to work, he sent us a bunch of albums that were touchstones or just records he was listening to. He's listed all of them here on his blog, so you can just poke around to find them. All great stuff, lots of things we hadn't listened to for a while that he got us back into. I was glad that, like every time I've worked with him, I pretty much had free reign in terms of crafting more atmospheric and drone-oriented rhythms. Very gothy, like a good Bauhaus record. And Mark was able to work some almost industrial or shoegaze type bass lines, but still from a very gothic angle. We're incredibly happy with the work. He's a great boss.

Once again thanks for the help. The album title has been changed from "Meet My Phantoms, Who Never Go Away" to "Empathy". Because this album is like me coming out for the first time again telling how I truely feel. This album shares more emotion then I've ever let out in a record before. The release date is set for April 13th. We need to set a tour up if your ready. Just email me(OOC: PM Me).

04.03.10: so i'm sitting here and just got done listening to the new album. it sounds beyond everything i could dream of for it to sound. i really think people will like this one and if they don't it's cool. i understand. i have a lot of songs written and recorded from this session and i've finally made a solo album i'm truely proud of. i like the other two but it just wasn't me. the album title has gotten changed to "Empathy" and will be released on april 13th. the albums influence came a lot from smashing pumpkins 'Adore'. as you all know i'm a huge smashing pumpkins fan and with that album being their least favorite out of fans it's one of my favorites. now the album isn't a copy of the smashing pumpkins but you can hear the little tributes we made into the sound.

onto other things that isn't dealing with me...

jakey is still in the hospital. i was kinda thinking about putting a charity concert even together for ole jakey to show how much we really care about him. i still haven't visited him yet. quite scared to be honest. everyone who i seem to get real close with in the music industry dies on me and i'm not thinking negative here it's just i don't wanna be around if it happens because i don't wanna go through a depression and most importantly lose another great close friend. jakey helped me out a lot. especailly when i was about to just give it up with music after we recorded "Rx" and before that. hes a great buisness partner and most importantly a great brother to me. hang in there man!

as to what i'll be doing. i'm still producing the waiting rooms new album it should be out if not this month then next. it has such a dark theme to the album but the band still haven't spent time to find an official album title. also alex sin has been visiting his old buddies in the studio. i dont know if Fear will be reuniting but they are all trying to rebuild their friendship it seems. after i tour for this album and done producing the waiting rooms album i'll be entering the studio with quarantine with the incredible jimmy him from the nimrods. i can't wait to see how this album will come out! jimmy is a talented song writer and i know he will make this album incredible.

but to start things off with the release of "Empathy" i have released a free E.P. of 3 outtakes from the recording. "Ghostwalking" will be released on april 6th. but here it is. this is just a taste of whats to come. and yes the single was named after jakey comatose and is about jakey comatose.

tracklist:
01. Comatose(See The Hole In The Sky?)
02. To Raven, I Miss You
03. Meet My Phantoms(Who Never Go Away)

also track 2 is indeed about my old buddy Raven from Thunderwolf. you will be missed! you made me in the musician i am today.

love,
-rf

"Empathy" has been released two days early. This album had over 40 songs written for it and really was a dark time for me when I recorded this album. I think it showed a different side of me no one has seen as not only a musician but as a person as well. All the songs on here are from personal experiences and how I feel. Call it what you want, I call it my best work to date. Hope you all like it! Its right here!

01. Ghostwalking - 4:02
02. Floating in Solitude - 6:00
03. Creatures - 3:52
04. I'm Wrong - 4:59
05. De-Ceit(My Funeral Service) - 7:33
06. Miranda, I Told You Once - 2:58
07. Decay Of Silence - 4:42
08. Blackout - 5:21
09. Of Time & Patience - 3:04
10. Flock of Doves - 6:19

Label: Comatose Records
Produced By: Jakey Comatose, and Regan Futrell
All Tracks Written By: Regan Futrell
Bass and Drums Recorded By: Mark and Langdon from the incredible band Enoch
All Lyrics By: Regan Futrell
Artwork By: Austin Simmons of Quarantine
Recorded At: Casting Thin Studios @ Gaston, NC(Hometown)
Personal:
Regan Futrell - Vocals, Guitars, Keys/Piano
Mark - Bass Guitar, Bass Effects, Back-Up Vocals
Langdon - Drums, Synthesizers, Back-Up Vocals
Regan Thanks: Jakey!, the band Enoch, Everyone on Comatose Records, Reckoner(You guys are an incredible new band), Everyone who has ever supported me.

Album is Dedicated To The Following: Jakey Comatose(Hang in there man!), Raven from Thunderwolf(You taught me a lot when I started out), Mike Williams(Still miss the good old days when we use to get drunk and tour), The innocent people in the DBM massacre.

"This album means a lot to me and it showcases my entire career of what I have done and what is to come for me. I will be doing a short US and Europe tour in support of this album. After the tour I will enter the studio with Quarantine to record the follow up to the award Best Album Amneisa/The Catalyst. The new album is really going to be light years away from everything that is out there right now. I can't wait to show you all the music I have in store coming your way. So this isn't the end. I am hoping to get a new A Static Theory album out this fall or winter and a new solo album out if not this winter then next year. I love making music and I love the music I've been making lately so there is a lot still to come. Thank you once again and I reccomend listening to Enoch, and Reckoner. Two very great bands!

Love,
Regan Futrell"
