I'm The Antidote, You're The Poison The Track The first song on the Big Light Show Demo, "Exploding Egos In The Night", is an angry pop-screamo/emo song. It is about being constantly put down by someone, being told that you're inferior, and being made to feel like that person is flowing through your system, restricting your potential. The track itself is very angry, which is why Cassie takes the lead with the vocals, her piercing, angry scream being far more prevalent in a song which is full of hatred and emotion. The song itself starts with an accappela scream from Cassie before diving into a heavy guitar and drum breakdown. The first verse is then screamed in it's entirety, with short bursts of lyrics over short bursts of heavy riff. The final line is screamed in a way which emphasises every word as if it were on a different line. The choruses are all sung following a drum roll, which signals a more major key change. This is evident in every chorus, as we hear Lauren's very pop punk vocals, which play a foil to Cassie's scream very well indeed. And finally, the bridge is sung and screamed, as a mixture between the girls, before all music stops, replaced by Lauren's high pitched, beautifully toned voice, singing alone, breathing heavily into the microphone. This track shows a massive change from the normal MO of Big Light Show. But it is one that they hope will catch the attention of a record label at long last. So our demo, "Exploding Egos in the Night" (track by track http://www.therockstarga....aspx?g=posts&t=7590) has just been officially released by us. I'm so nervous, because this is our last roll of the dice. Seriously, if no one signs us, we'll fly home at the end of the SS tour, and there will be no more BLS. So we had great feedback from some of you guys so far on the demo. There are a few rather beleaguered BLS fans who Cassie is calling "cunts", because they emailed us to say that it is sacrilege that we just suddenly dropped the pop-punk stylings of old and decided to change "for the big bucks". But you know what? Acts like us don't get "big bucks" yet. This was just a necessary change for us, and it's working, because we are getting such great reviews, and we got signed. So, if you are disappointed in us, then I'm sorry. Hopefully you can come around to what we're doing now :) However, the real news is that we are heading out again. Straight after we get done here on the SS tour, we have been booked for the world tour....in stadia, with GirlSpice and PANIC! It's like....wow! I know, I know, GirlSpice and BLS are massively different bands, but this is stadia gigs, and it is such a massive chance for us. We hope to see you out there, bringing pits to a GirlSpice gig....haha! We can't thank those girls enough though. We love them! See you soon BLS-ites!
