Scott nods and takes another drink. He feels a familiar feeling bubbling inside of him. He fights it down.

"So you hit her? I guess...yeah if she was getting at you."

He nods, hating that he even has to say these words.

"Has it happened before, like?"

Scott nods.

"How many times did you hit her, man."

He takes a drink, gritting his teeth against the bottle.

Scott nods and forces a smile on his face despite his disgust.

"Ah well...I suppose you did....what you had to..."

He looks down and grits his teeth.

"You fancy a game of pool, man?"

Scott nods and stands, taking another beer and walking through to the room at the back.

"Me either."

He sets up the balls.

"You any good?"

Scott shrugs. He formulates a plan in his mind and tries to keep the smile from his face.

He lifts a queue and hands one to Billy.

"You break," he says, before waiting for Billy to approach the table.

Scott smiles and nods. As soon as Billy turns his back though, Scott puts his beer down, his face looking all the more serious. He watches closely until Billy reaches the table.

When he bends over the table, Scott starts to walk forward, flipping the cue in his hand. Without breaking stride he brings it back, before swinging forward with all his might, bringing the heavier and thicker end of the cue around to strike Billy hard in the side of his right thigh.

Scott hears a snap as soon as he swings and looks down to see the cue shatter into three pieces. He wonders immediately if its all he managed to break.

As Billy lets out a scream, Scott laughs to himself. He watches him try to pull himself to his feet for a second.

"Do yourself a favour and stay down," he says calmly, before kneeing Billy square in the jaw.

Scott crouches beside him, watching Billy pant. He knew it wouldn't keep him down for long, but he was a showman, and he couldn't miss the chance to gloat.

"You hit your wife man? That's a fucking woman, bro! Come on! I'm a man of principles. I can't let shit like that pass can I?"

Scott grabs Billy by the throat and pushes him back down.

"AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE A DECENT GUY!"

He pushes his head back and stands up.

"Not some fucking scumbag who beats his wife!"

Scott lifts the other cue and lifts it high above his head before bringing it down on Billy's left knee. He hears a sickening crunch and crack of bone and he laughs.

"Stay fucking down!"

He takes a drink of beer and throws the bottle at the wall.

"Do I seem to you like the sort of guy apologies matter to, Mr Khan? You've seen first hand what I can do!"

Scott laughs, holding the piece of broken cue.

"You know how you sound like, Billy? Ryan! I don't have to do this?"

He smiles.

"Is that what Andrea said to you? You didn't have to do that did you? But you still smacked your wife. A poor defenceless woman Billy. Someone who trusts and loves you. Someone you promised to love and protect. Is that what she deserved? She spoke back to you so she deserved a hand across the face? Deserved to live in fear of her husband?"

He hits Billy's knee in the same place again with the broken piece of cue.
