Nadia looked at Ryan and smiled at his response, her father nodded, "Yeah, I bet it is. No whiskey for you then, eh?" He chuckled, readjusting his position on the sofa slightly.

"I'm okay thanks mum," Nadia said with a smile, her mum nodded her head, and took a seat next to Michael. She took a sip at the cup of coffee in her hand, before opening her mouth to speak, "What about that ranch week you had for the New Year? Was that any good?"

Michael nodded his head after Ryan's reply, "Well, at least you had a few cheat days to keep you going, I imagine it's been tough with that and not being able to eat what you want." Nadia smiled at her dad, before looking to Ryan, "Yeah, it's been tough, he's done really well though."

Nadia watched Ryan move his hand over the wrinkles on his pants, nodding her head as Ryan spoke, reflecting back on their time at the ranch during the last week of 2012. "It was great, Boots had fun running around pretty much all day, at least she got a lot of exercise," Nadia said with a soft laugh. Michael chuckled at Ryan's comment, "Oh, it's fine, you've both got your own lives to live. It's funny, without Nads here this year, we surprisingly had food left over." Nadia gasped and laughed, "Excuse me! You make me sound fat." Christine laughed with her and grinned, "We just had some family over and I cooked, my sister and her husband, my mum, some of Mike's family, it was nice, I prefer a peaceful Christmas."

"Well, I'm not so much a whiskey man, but I know all about your little addiction," Michael replied with a chuckle. "Aww, Ry!" Nadia said sweetly as she looked to him after his comment, giving a warm smile.

As the conversation turned to poke fun at Nadia, she raised her eyebrows at Ryan's response to her father and hit his arm lightly, her and her parents breaking into laughter. Christine nodded her head as Ryan spoke, her father laughing at his comment once again, "You're turning her into a proper little housewife, Ry." Nadia giggled, before Christine went to speak, "Nadia was telling me about that, you can thank me for her cooking skills, she might not be American, but she definitely sounds like one these days." "You can thank Ryan for that," Nadia replied, laughing softly as she turned to look at him.

Michael nodded his head and laughed at his comment, "So I've heard!" Nadia turned to look at Ryan and smirked, clearly she wasn't the only one who knew his love for single-malt scotch.

Christine gasped at Ryan's reply, her eyes widening slightly, "Nearly five months?! You poor thing, I wouldn't be surprised if your taste buds had just rolled over and died by the time your vocals are all better," she commented, letting out a soft laugh. Michael chuckled at the remark Christine made about Nadia's accent, turning his head to Ryan, before his eyes lowered to Nadia's hands that was clasped together, noticing a ring, "Wow, I bet that cost you a bomb, Ry."

Christine smiled and nodded her head as Ryan spoke, "Well I'm glad Nadia's been treating you well, I can imagine it's been easier having someone to help go through it with." Nadia's eyes shifted a little as her father brought up the ring, looking to Ryan to see how he handled the question, before cutting in herself, "Umm... well, that's something we also wanted to tell you both about." Looking slightly confused, her parents looked to each other and back to Ryan and Nadia, "Do you wanna say it Ry, or shall I?"

Christine smiled warmly at Nadia over what Ryan had said, before the conversation turned to the ring. Nadia looked at Ryan as he spoke, before nodding her head, looking to the ring, soon turning her attention back to her parents. "Well, Ryan took me away to Maui a little while ago and gave me the ring at the beach," she said softly, pausing for a short moment. "We're getting married."

A few seconds of silence followed as Nadia's parents looked at each other in both shock and disbelief, Christine's jaw dropping instantly, before she stood up and held her arms out, "Oh my God... I can't believe it!" Nadia stood and opened her arms to receive the hug, Christine's voice cracking a little as if she was about to cry, "My little girl's getting married!" Nadia laughed softly as she rested her head on her mother's shoulder, feeling herself getting a little teary-eyed, "Except I'm not so little anymore, mum." She turned to her father to hug him, who was already standing with a huge smile on his face, "I'm so happy for you, darling." After Christine had hugged Ryan, Michael pulled him in for another hug and patted him on the back, "I know you'll make my daughter happy, Ryan."

Michael nodded his head at Ryan and smiled, confident in his word, as he knew how happy Ryan made Nadia. Christine grabbed hold of Nadia's hand and admired the ring on her finger, "Oh, Nads. It's gorgeous, no wonder you said yes!" She laughed as Nadia did too, letting go of her hand and taking a seat once again. Michael sat back down next to her while Christine reached for her cup of coffee to take a sip, "Well, that was a shock and a half!" Michael chuckled and nodded his head in agreement, "If you two are gonna pop out surprises like that every time you stop by, please warn me before."

Nadia giggled at her father's comment, getting comfortable back in her seat next to Ryan, "I'll make sure of that, dad." Christine smiled as she placed her cup of coffee back on the table, looking over to the two of them, "So, have you set a date yet? Made any plans?"

Nadia seemed just as surprised as Ryan that her parents hadn't found out about their engagement, but she was glad they were able to tell them in person. "I'm shocked you didn't find out, I already tweeted about it!" Nadia said with a smile, her mother gasping in surprise, "You did?! Well that's it, Mike. We're getting a Twitter," she replied with a smile, looking next to Michael by the end of her sentence. Her father seemed a little lost at the whole idea of it and simply nodded his head.

"Yeah, we're just enjoying it. We want the wedding to be quite peaceful and laid-back though, so we're not inviting a whole ton of people, I'd hate a crowded wedding where I wouldn't be able to enjoy it," Nadia added. Michael nodded in agreement, "Thank fuck for that, cause with the amount of people you two know, that wedding would end up looking like a stadium concert." Nadia giggled, as Christine smiled and nodded at their responses, "Aww, okay. Let us know of course though, you don't know how excited I am for it already!"
