TRACK 15 : TOO MANY SORRY'S TO COUNT

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Too Many Sorry’s To Count
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: R&B, country, Adult Contemporary
Length: 4:21
Recorded: March 2013

Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Too Many Sorry’s To Count’

‘Too Many Sorry’s To Count’ is an R&B, country, Adult-Contemporary song sung by Tisha Jackson. The song focuses on a young woman in a relationship with a young man who constantly plays her and she falls for it every time when he apologizes, sayin, “I’m sorry” all the time. Jackson eventually realizes that the relationship has made no progress because he keeps doing wrong and she continues to allow him to do so. The beginning of the song begins with Jackson coming to realize that she is in a unhealthy relationship, however she is still confused if she should get out or not, because the guy has such a hold on her. The song concludes with Jackson realizing she is worth more than an half ass relationship, and ending it with her boyfriend. The song also focuses on the theme of self-esteem and self-worth.

‘Too Many Sorry’s To Count’ instrumental consist of a guitar solely, giving it a country feel to it. Jackson vocals are sung in a very low raspy tone, one of her more raw raspy performances on the album which gives it that R&B feel as well. ‘Sorry’s’ is one of the more definitive moments on ‘The Highway To Redemption’ cementing its mature darker sound. The guitar chords and solo were arranged by Jackson herself. The song also includes a lot of metaphors, one being, “And you can’t get to heaven, if your eyes aren’t on the skies.”

Quote:
“Too Many Sorry’s To Count is definitely one of my top three favorites on the album. Again, as many of the themes of this album are relationships, and we as adults all can relates to the ups and downs of a relationship. I just love the message of the song being know yourself worth before anything, because you can’t have a successful healthy relationship if you don’t know you, and that’s what it’s all about. Definitely want to make this a single eventually.

'Too Many Sory's To Count'

sounds like:

[Verse 1]

Almost made a fool of me
We almost had it all
Everything is good when it starts off
That’s just how love works
One day things were great
The next we fuss and fight
This followed by a dozen roses and an apology
It’s not gonna work this time
Cause you’ve given too many sorry’s to count

[Verse 2]

We can’t have a have a good tomorrow
Living off memories of yesterday’s past
Sure, in the beginning we were free just like the wind
But today, I refuse to spend my life in misery
And you can’t get to heaven
When yours eyes aren’t concentrated on the skies
It’s not gonna work this time
Cause you’ve given too many sorry’s to count

[Chorus]

I can’t spend my life waiting on you
And things to turn around
I’ve been at a stand-still too long
While I’ve watched you prosper, unbothered
Going on with your life
Cause I want unity
And you all you want is a friendship
I’ve always wanted more than you could give me
I guess that’s what I get for getting my hopes up

[Verse 3]

Watch, I’ll find me somebody
Who wants the same things I want
I’m not talking the idealistic man
Cause one thing you’ve taught me is there isn’t one
You feed my mind with all these lies
For a moment I almost believed everyone
It’s not gonna work this time
Cause you’ve given too many sorry’s to count

[Bridge]

Heeeyyyyyy
Oooooooooo
Oooooooooo
Heeeeyyyyyy
Yeaaaaahhhhh
Yeaaaaaahhhh
Can’t keep on loving
Can’t keep on trying
It’s not gonna work this time
Cause you’ve given too many sorry’s to count

[Chorus]

I can’t spend my life waiting on you
And things to turn around
I’ve been at a stand-still too long
While I’ve watched you prosper, unbothered
Going on with your life
Cause I want unity
And you all you want is a friendship
I’ve always wanted more than you could give me
I guess that’s what I get for getting my hopes up

[Verse 4]

Maybe you’ll meet somebody
Who do as you’ve done unto me
No, I don’t want that to happen
I wish you nothing but the best
But it’s time I’d go home
The street lights are on
I’m picking up all the pieces to my puzzle
And going on with a life worth wile
It’s not gonna work this time
Cause you’ve given too many sorry’s to count

TRACK 16 : WEEKEND RENDEZVOUS

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Weekend Rendezvous
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: Dance/Pop/R&B
Length: 4:00
Recorded: October 2012

Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Weekend Rendezvous’

‘Weekend Rendezvous’ is an upbeat Dance number. The song contains some R&B influence. The beat of the song consist of organs and a piano. ‘Weekend Rendezvous’ is a fun dance track about being young, wild, and free. The song takes place in modern day and times, as Jackson meets a guy who she is attracted to and he ask her out on a date. Feeling spontaneous, Jackson obliges and they have an adventure on the streets of New York City.

The song is very reminiscent of a previous cut on the record, ‘Teenagers Forever’. It focuses on themes that young people would care about like, the weekend, meeting guys, meeting girls, partying, and having a good time. The song has a very innocent appeal, in which it shows the youth how a young man and a young woman should actually court each other. It’s a very care free track about dating. Weekend Rendezvous was recorded in October of 2012 in New York City. Jackson wrote the song to lighten the mood of the album, as it originally started as a dark themed album. The songs beat is very reminiscent of the Dance music of the 1980’s.

Quote:
“Weekend Rendezvous, is another track, that when I perform, I know I am going to have to go in. The beat is so fast, and infectious. It’s just a track that all we young girls have had, where we are feeling spontaneous, and we meet a guy, and we just have time. What I love most about the song is that it shows that a guy can have a good time with a girl and vice versa without having sex."

"WEEKEND RENDEZVOUS"

sounds like:

[Verse 1]

Just another day
Strutting my stuff low key
Walking down the street
You were with ya boys
And you stopped in ya tracks to check me out
You said Hey gorgeous
I had to stop everything I was doing when my eyes laid on you
You looked so nervous
But you found the courage to ask…
Do you wanna chill?
Well, I’m feeling spontaneous
Oh my damn, it’s Friday too
I’m not trying to get freaky
Let’s just try and have a blast this weekend
Hit up a bar, have a drink, see a movie, have a good time
I need to get out and unwind
I put in work at the job every day this week
Deposit my check
I wanna blow it all, what the heck
I know you and me…
We gonna have a ball

[Chorus]

Baby, baby, I know a place
You don’t have a car
Let’s hitch a cab, or take the train
Free your mind
Ease your troubles
Live for today
You wanna roll with me
It’s the weekend
Let’s be adventurous, and have some rendezvous

[Hook]

Ren- dez-vous
Boy, it’s just you and I
Ren-dez-vouz
Living care free, it’s just you and I
Ren-dez-vous
I’ll show you a good time
Ren-dez-vous
On a rendezvous

[Verse 2]

I’m usually shy
But today, I want to be bold
The world is ours
We hold all the cards
And we’ll call … All of the shots
It’s our rules, so remember, rules are meant to be broken
From time to time

[Chorus]

Baby, baby, I know a place
You don’t have a car
Let’s hitch a cab, or take the train
Free your mind
Ease your troubles
Live for today
You wanna roll with me
It’s the weekend
Let’s be adventurous, and have some rendezvous
Baby, baby, I know a place

TRACK 17 : HOW WE DO

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: How We Do
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: R&B
Length:3:59
Recorded: October 2012

Background & Vocal Arrangememts of ‘How We Do’

‘How We Do’ is an R&B dance song with a Hip-Hop influence. The song is very young and fresh. ‘How We Do’ is about a woman accepting her man for who he is, and disregarding and not worrying about any of his flaws. It’s an anthem for secure women who know the ground they stand at with their men, so they aren’t afraid to allow them to be men. Tisha sings lyrics like, “I see you trying to sneak your peaks, Trying to be respectful towards me, Boy Go Head, I’m glancing at some of the fellas too” She is secure enough in her relationship to know that she and her man have a good thing going on and they won’t allow anyone to come between them. The beat kicks off the loud roar of drums. After the drums begin the keys of the piano are incorporated to the beat. Jackson delivers the song in a very care free-way, playing with her words, repeating words of the chorus several times, giving the hook a subtle feeling, yet funky. It is a unorthodox incorporating curse words into many of its lyrics.

Quote:
“How We Do is a very sassy number! It is a song I wrote based on what I’ve been seeing with a lot of women in relationships, which is, they are so insecure in their relationships and themselves, they don’t allow their men to breathe. Men are going to be men, and they are going to look at other women, but just because he glances doesn’t mean he wants to leave ALL that he has for a stranger. I just want the ladies to know if you have a good guy then let him rock. Not all men are unfaithful, liars, or dogs, we have to trust who we CHOOSE to love. If it doesn’t work out there are plenty more fish in the sea. But I just want the women to be secure in themselves, know their worth, where they stand with there men in their relationships, and do them!

“How We Do”

sounds like:

[Verse 1]

Smile glistening at old text messages from my lover
What a feeling, what we feel is mutual upon each other
I sweat when I think about the sex we have in my Rover
I want you here now, at the crib, won’t you come over
More than my lover, you’re my best friend, boy I love ya like a brother
I think about you all hours of the day
I’m still gonna love ya, even after all the crazy shit you say
You keep it real, Please stay that way
Whoever says lust is love is dumb and inexperienced
I gotcha going cray
I love a man who’s not afraid to show his feelings
You got my back
[Thank you boyyyy]
You know I’m ride or die
I’ll stay right by your side
We haven’t made it this far, by taking it easy
Sometimes love take chance and risk
I want us to evolve, do bigger and better thangs
But I don’t want this love to change
Stand by my side, you know Imma be your rock

[Hook]

I know you get a thrill watching the girls switch
Looking at the sway of hips
I see you trying to sneak your peaks
Trying to be respectful towards me
Boy Go Head
I’m glancing at some of the fellas too
Damn, needless to say
That’s part of my attraction to ya babe
Hey, I don’t trip, cuz I’ll catch ya in a lie
You not a hound, but boy, ya ain’t shy
Damn, needless to say
That’s part of my attraction to ya babe

[Chorus]

Boy Go Head
Cuz you know That’s How We Do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do

[Verse 2]

You keep it fly
Stay maccin
You the bomb
Any hour of the day and night
You be ready to pounce
And give me every ounce
Every part about us feels so right
It feels like a good different
Nigga believe you ain’t going nowhere, ya place right here
He be ready to pounce, poun-ce
I give him that ouuuwww, ouuuwww
He gimme every ounce, oun-ce
Make me laugh
When he gets on his knees, knees
He be begging, Tisha, please, please
The boy can scream and shout
Once I blow that candle light, out, out
We rock, till we, knocked out, out
You know I’m ride or die
I’ll stay right by your side
We haven’t made it this far, by taking it easy
Fuck what you heard
But I don’t want this love to change
Stand by my side, you know Imma be your rock

[Hook]

I know you get a thrill watching the girls switch
Looking at the sway of hips
I see you trying to sneak your peaks
Trying to be respectful towards me
Boy Go Head
I’m glancing at some of the fellas too
Damn, needless to say
That’s part of my attraction to ya babe
Hey, I don’t trip, cuz I’ll catch ya in a lie
You not a hound, but boy, ya ain’t shy
Damn, needless to say
That’s part of my attraction to ya babe

[Chorus]

Boy Go Head
Cuz you know That’s How We Do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do

[Verse 3/Bridge]

And I know what the people say
They say we young and dumb
We don’t know a single thing about love
But I don’t care what they say
All I know is I’m his girl
He’s my man
And he means the world to me
What we have is so much more
So Boy Go Ahead, I won’t trip
It’s an important factor
As long as we march to our own beat
And rock this love for ever
Nothing is a matter

[Chorus]

Boy Go Head
Cuz you know That’s How We Do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do
That’s How We Do, How we do

[Hook]

I know you get a thrill watching the girls switch
Looking at the sway of hips
I see you trying to sneak your peaks
Trying to be respectful towards me
Boy Go Head
I’m glancing at some of the fellas too
Damn, needless to say
That’s part of my attraction to ya babe

[Outro]

I love that about ya babe
Bout ya babe

TRACK 18 : SPEAKING IN TONGUES

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Speaking Tongues
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: R&B
Length: 4:02
Recorded: April 2013

Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Speaking Tongues’

‘Speaking Tongues’ is a very sensual R&B ballad. The song is about being taken to a place of ecstasy so high, you can’t even speak proper anymore, you have to speak in tongues. The beat of the song is solely created by the guitar, in which Jackson plays herself. For majority of the song, Jackson uses a very low tone and she mostly adlibs. Jackson sounds like the ‘WOMAN IN CONTROL’ during all of the song as she sings lyrics like, “I grind on him a little while, He say let’s go to my placeI say no, we gonna go to my place”.

‘Speaking Tongues’ is a sensual song similar ‘Tonight Is The Night’ however, Jackson plays the submissive role in ‘Tonight Is The Night’. In ‘Speaking Tongues’ she plays aggressive, making most of the demands and her partner obliging. In a way you can view ‘Speaking Tongues’ as ‘Tonight Is The Night’ sequel. ‘Tongues’ is the close out of the standard edition of ‘The Highway To Redemption’. And is a real way to close the standard edition out with a mellow groove that is sure to be played in the bedrooms of many couples.

Quote:
“Speaking In Tongues was the second to last song I recorded for the album. I think it is definitely one of my most sexiest, personal songs to date. It is very sensual, and its different compared to a lot of slow jams of R&B today because I use my voice as a beat to go along with the beat of the guitar. I just remember recording it, and wanting women to have a song that can make us in charge without making the man submissive, allowing us to remain sensual, but take charge as well. It’s nice to switch it up sometimes ; )

[Intro]

Oooooooh

[Instrumental Introduction]

[Verse 1]

Innocent arousal
While conversing over the phone
He thought he was a G
I’ll show him a little summin summin
Watch me mother-fucking mack
Tell him everything I wanna do
And all he wanna hear
I didn’t have to tell him I needed the D
He read it through my eyes
He looked at me like I was a drug
Boy that mother-fucka was hooked
Whinning my hips in the club
He pull me from the back
I grind on him a little while
He say let’s go to my place
I say no, we gonna go to my place
Each other, Is what we both wanted to taste
I heard you popping all that shit
Soon as he got to know me from the inside
That nigga jaw open and stutterin like this…
OOOOH – OOOOOOH

[Chorus]

We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh
We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh
We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh

[Verse 2]

He told the homies I’m the real fucking deal
Shawty a lady, but she got a mind of her own
She know what she want
When you knock on my door
I pull you in the house
Just take everything off
We can talk later, we have business to handle
You put your name all over that kitty kat
I see had you sprung
Last night was a spontaneous evening
I played coy like I ain’t remember
He approach me like a mac
About to handle the situation
You couldn’t tell him nothing
Throw me up in the air
Legs around his waist
Lead me to the bed
I heard you popping all that shit
Soon as he got to know me from the inside
That nigga jaw open and stutterin like this…
OOOOH – OOOOOOH

[Chorus]

We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh
We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh
We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh

[HE DON’T PLAY WITH HIS SHIT]

[Instrumental Interlude]

We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh
We speaking tongues
Keep it moving
Woooo- baby, oooooh, ooooooh, oooooh

[Verse 3]

I won’t lie
It feels like it’s my first time
I can’t lie, cause I’m about to cry
It feels like my very first time
Speaking tongues
Grind it, Grind it
Baby, pound it
Grind it, Grind it
Baby, own it
Grind it, Grind it
Baby, want it
Grind it, Grind it
Boy, you need it
Grind it, Grind it
Goin crazy
Act like you know it
Grind it, Grind it
Baby boy
Watch me hit that note
Oooooooh – Oooooooh – Ooooooh – Aaaaaaahhhh – Aaaaaah ooooooh

[Verse 4]

It’s all over
Now he’s hunched on my back
Wooo – sah
Catching up with your breath
Wooo – sah
Whenever you need it just call
It’s the same vice versa
We take care of each other
Boy I can help ya unwind
Now do you wanna take a shower?
Or lay next to me?
Wearing nothing but each other’s flesh
I taste your flesh
All on my lips
Same time and place, tomorrow
Ayyyyye, hmmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmmm
Haaaaaaaaa

TRACK 19 : WATCH ME WORK

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Watch Me Work
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: Dance, Pop
Length: 3:15
Recorded: April 2012

‘Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Watch Me Work’

‘Watch Me Work’ is an up-beat Dance, pop, track. The beat is very fun and playful as well as the lyrics. ‘Work’ is one of Jackson’s ‘coming out’ moments on ‘The Highway To Redemption’. The song is about feeling yourself, and understanding the power you have as a woman, and running things. Like many of the tracks on ‘The Highway To Redemption’, ‘Work’ is about control, in which in this song Jackson explains how and why she is a powerful woman in control of her own affairs. The hook features many curse words as Jackson sings, “Fuck it up, fuck it up”. The beat has some electronic feel to it, with drums and trumpets. The beat is very hard and in your face, as Jackson delivers a rough, raspy tone to the infectious hard hitting beat.

Quote:

“Watch Me Work is a song I don’t take myself to seriously on. Many of ‘The Highway To Redemption’ consisted of songs that are deal with very serious life topics, and it is a very adult contemporary themed album. And I just wanted to do a track that is kind of detached from reality, but still can make you feel like the shit when you listen to it. And that is the essence of the song, to make you feel like the shit, and feel like you can conquer the world. I felt that way when I recorded it : )

"WATCH ME WORK"

And this song makes me feel like the shit! 'Blackout' is deff Brit's most underrated album to date, and by far her best.

TRACK 20 : THANK YOU

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Thank You
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: Pop
Length: 3:33
Recorded: October 2012

Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Thank You’

‘Thank You’ is a mid-tempo Pop song about finding the love of your life, and thanking God for leading that person to you, and thanking your boyfriend/girlfriend so being so loyal to you. The sole instrument played to the beat is the guitar, in which Jackson plays herself. Jackson sings most of the song through her mid and upper register. The lyrics of the song are uplifting, especially to those who have been hurt in previous relationships, because the lyrics tell you that love can still esist in your life if you open your heart back up to it.

Quote:
“Thank You is probably the sweetest song I’ve ever written. It’s real mushy because I wrote in at the beginning of my previous relationship, so it’s kind of funny. It’s funny because I am single now, and I listen to ‘Thank You’ today, and I’m like, “Oh, that’s where I was during that part of my life.” It’s cool tho. I take heed to the lyrics because I do believe there is REAL love out there for everyone who just open their hearts up to it.

“THANK YOU"

sounds like:

[Verse 1]

At heart I’m a modern day girl
The only difference is I just happen to pop up upon your TV
I’m really opinionated
Almost as much as the public is of me
I hear your voice and my heart screams like a siren
My stomach falls out of my body
My knees get real weak, and falls down to my toes
Sometimes I feel like the worlds on my shoulders
So I think of what we have in a positive light
Forget what everyone else says
It’s all about us
And boy, I just wanna thank you

[Chorus]

Everything we share is real
Just like honey, I can taste the ecstasy
I feel so strong, I can move any mountain that comes my way
Cuz I know you’ll be right by my side, when all the chips fall and hit the ground
We understand its human nature for things to get complicated
My hair tied in a bun and my sweat pants on
The simplicity of it makes me feel simply beautiful
Thank God for today with you
It’s all about us
And boy, I just wanna thank you

[Hook]

Me and you
You and I
Thank God I found you
Hmmmm haaa, haaaa, hmmmm
Boy thank you

[Verse 2]

Your eye’s leave piercings in my soul
I look into them, I feel safe, like nothing’s wrong
We laugh about the dumbest stuff
Our little insiders have us cracking up
Everyone looks at us, like what the “hell are they talking about”
But that’s just between you and me, we don’t care what they think
I feel in love with you slowly
It feels like it’s more natural that way
I thank God that I found you
So I think of what we have in a positive light
Forget what everyone else says
It’s all about us
And boy, I thank you

[Hook]

It’s all about us
Me and you
You and I
Hmmmm haaa, haaaa, hmmmm
Boy thank you

[Verse 3/Bridge]

Ambush me with your angelic wings
Straight from the heavens
I swear that’s where you came from
It’s all about ussssssssssss!
That’s just how weeeee dooooooo!
Boyyyy Thank youuuuuu!

I feel so beautiful

[Outro]

Maybe cuz I’m with you
I owe you a thank you
It’s all about us
Me and you!
Boy, I thank you

TRACK 21 : GLASS FLOOR

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Glass Floor
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson, Chanel Devine
Produced by: Tisha Jackson, X-Rocka
Genre: R&B, soul
Length: 6:12
Recorded: November 2012

Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Glass Floor’

‘Glass Floor’ is an R&B ballad written by Chanel Devine and Tisha Jackson. The beat features the production of X-Rocka. The beat consist of piano keys and violins. Towards the end of the song, during the breakdown the very slow, pretty beat turns gritty, fast, and dark, as the drums and the guitar strums, leaving you with an epic instrumental. The lyrics were written by Devine, and Jackson wrote the melodies. ‘Glass Floor’ is about being in a relationship that is very unhealthy for you, so unhealthy that is was almost like an obsession. It’s about putting up with the bad in a relationship because you remember all the good from before. In the song Jackson catches her man in the act of cheating on her, and that is her breaking point. The song leaves you at a confusing point in the ‘fall in action’ because Jackson says she’s leaving but you can tell she is apprehensive as she remembers the past good of their relationship. However, the main theme of the song is to not allow yesterday’s good memories to be tomorrow’s misery. After the breakdown the violins close out the song.

Quote:
“Glass Floor is a beautiful ballad I wrote along with my good friend Chanel Devine and it was produced by X-Rocka and myself. The song is about what many people I know of all ages have been to. You are at the breaking point in your relationship, and you know you have to go because he or she is holding you back from prevailing, but you don’t want to let go because you remember all the good memories from the past. I wanted to make the song non-judgmental because I’ve been in situations when I stayed knowing it wasn’t a good decision. But I wanted the overall theme to be to get out of what is bad for you.

"GLASS FLOOR"

sounds like:

[Chorus]

Baby, I can see right tho you like a glass floor,
My reflection of my love is lying right on the floor,
No matter where I go I can still see you,
My love, my life is seeing tho my glass floor.

[Verse 1]

I swear my heels tap on the floor,
Hearing moans in the back of the house,
I knew lies when I saw your eyes,
The floor breaks but I'm still
Going to catch all your lies.
My anger, my heat is burning right
Tho me. I can’t control this ice,
Inside my heart, so tonight will be the night
I'll just let you go, baby, you can just let me go,
so glass floor.

[Hook]

It's kinda cold,
my heart is unsure,
that I saw this right,
during midnight.
You wasnt with me,
my best friend was gone,
came back with a smile.
you were no one to find.

As cold as ice, unbreakable I might,
just go crazy, over you.
As cold as ice, unbreakable I might,
just go crazy, over you.. tonight.

[Chorus]

Baby, I can see right tho you like a glass floor,
my reflection of my love is laying right on the floor,
no matter where I go I can still see you,
my love, my life is seeing tho my glass floor.

[Verse 2]

I can hardly see,
you was enemy of me,
wanted what I had,
break this habit.
If taking everything that mines,
baby, I had suffered this time.
You just didn't care, as long
your heart was still protected by shields.

[Verse 3]

I heard it thought my walls,
Couldn’t believe my ears,
As I got up, walking tho
The home that once was yours,
My best friend betrayed me,
I saw that you loved her like a glass floor,
Everything was so blurry to me, my heart was my warning,
I finally saw this hurt thought my glass floors.

[Chorus]

Baby, I can see right tho you like a glass floor,
my reflection of my love is laying right on the floor,
no matter where I go I can still see you,
my love, my life is seeing tho my glass floor.

[Bridge]

Everything is now clear to me, my emotions can’t explain when I saw
My love being taking away from me in my own bed. You were my everything,
The person I ran too, now I’m confused as my heels tap on this glass floor,
I break whatever comes tho the door…

[Hook/Outro]

As cold as ice, unbreakable I might,
just go crazy, over you.
As cold as ice, unbreakable I might,
just go crazy, over you.. tonight.

TRACK 22 : GOD I NEED YOUR HELP NOW

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: God I Need Your Help Now
Album: The Highways To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Prodced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: Gospel, soul
Length: 4:19
Recorded: April 2013

Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘God I Need Your Help Now’

‘God I Need Your Help Now’ is a Gospel song written and produced by Tisha Jackson. The song is a love letter to God, in which Tisha pours her heart out. She sings about all of her faults, and she acknowledges being a sinner, but, she calls upon him for his help. In the song Jackson delivers the lyrics in a broken, tired way, she sings optimistically, hoping that the lord will answer her prayers. Jackson sings about most of her problems and you can tell that this is a personal song from her through her delivery, as many of the lyrics are about her life.

Jackson sings lyrics, “I’m on the ground, Fallen from all of grace, I’m trying to rise to my feet again, But I can’t even save myself, I’m at a standstill”. Jackson is ready for a change in her life, and a positive one, and she is asking the lord to lead her to it. Jackson also talks about being lonely at times and asking God to bring her someone who will care and love for her.

Jackson also references “going home” in the song, leaving many to wonder if she is talking about God’s kingdom or back to her old self, or a familiar place. The beats instrument include, the guitar, violins, and piano keys. The beat gives you a very urgent feel as the guitar anxiously strums, the violins urgently flare but easing out the beat, and the piano keys are played swiftly. The song really begins to sound urgent during the breakdown as Jackson delivers VERY POWERFUL vocals calling upon the lord. She continues with the chorus until the songs end as the beat phases out with the playing of violins, the guitar, and the piano.

Quote:
“God I Need Your Help Now is absolutely my favorite song on the record. It is a very personal one for me, because often with my music, I write songs in scenarios, of what I would do in a certain situation, or what my friends have been through. But I wrote this one for me. It is what I consider, my love letter to God. I feel everyone can relate to it because we all do things that doesn’t meet with the lords standard, but I believe my God is a forgiving one, and he sees the good in us. I am very passionate about this song, because this is my way of admitting that I’ve done wrong things in the past, but asking people not to judge me, because only God can do that, and asking the lord to forgive me for all wrong that I’ve done.”

"GOD I NEED YOUR HELP NOW"

sounds like:

[Verse 1]

I’m on the ground
Fallen from all of grace
I’m trying to rise to my feet again
But I can’t even save myself
I’m at a standstill
The time has come for change
My heart is no longer where it used to be
Lord I need you to show me
I lack all the patience
I need for my blessings
God can you hear me?
I’m feeling alone, especially at night
Send a sweet angel my way
I need you to take me home
My heart is no longer where it used to be
Lord I need you to show me

[Chorus]

God I need you to help me
I need to stand again, and tall
Is there anyone with humanity?
That’s what my heart is calling for
God I don’t want to remain the same
I really want to change
My heart is no longer where it used to be
Lord I need you to show me

[Verse 2]

I’ve done some things
I’m ashamed of
I’ll take the blame for that
But these people, wanted to hurt me
You and I both know, so much has changed in my life
To stay sane, I imagine living in a better land
Peace and no harm will come my way
My heart is no longer where it used to be
Lord I need you to show me

[Chorus]

God I need you to help me
I need to stand again, and tall
Is there anyone with humanity?
That’s what my heart is calling for
God I don’t want to remain the same
I really want to change
My heart is no longer where it used to be
Lord I need you to show me

[Verse 3/Bridge]

I need you here with me
[HEEEEEEEYYYY, HEEEEEEYY]
Cause no one is around
[HEEEEY, HEEEEEY-HEEEEEEY]
I need you by my side
[HEEEEEEY]
All hours, through the night and the day
[WOOOOOOOOOOO]
I am tired of this emptiness
[WOOOOOOOOOOO]
Lord fill the void in my life
[WOOOOOOOOOOOO]
I know I should praise you more
I’m so confused
Take my heart, mind, and soul and guide me to you

[Chorus 2x]

God I need you to help me
I need to stand again, and tall
Is there anyone with humanity?
That’s what my heart is calling for
God I don’t want to remain the same
I really want to change
My heart is no longer where it used to be
Lord I need you to show me

[Outro]

Lord I need you to show me
Lord I need you to show me
Lord I need you to show me

TRACK 23 : LOVE IS IN THE AIR

UserPostedImage

Artist: Tisha Jackson
Song: Love’s In The Air
Album: The Highway To Redemption
Written by: Tisha Jackson
Produced by: Tisha Jackson
Genre: R&B
Length: 4:00
Recorded: October 2012

‘Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Love Is In The Air’

‘Love Is In The Air’ is a R&B, piano, power ballad, written and produced by Tisha Jackson. The song is about falling in love, and realizing you’ve fallen. Like many relationships, Jackson admits that hers is complicated, but through it all they make it work. Like many of the songs of ‘Highway’ Jackson mentions God, and his involvement with the relationship. ‘Love’ is a powerful way to close out a powerful album. In the song Jackson admits to being selfish, only wanting her man to herself. She also uses the song to encourage others to allow let love to just be spontaneous and happen, and not to force love.

Quote:

“Love Is In The Air is such a beautiful song. It is another song that I wrote during the beginning of my previous relationship. It’s just about allowing love to come your way, and not to go out looking for it, allow love to b what it is, spontaneous and unpredictable.”

“Love’s In The Air”

sounds like:

[Verse 1]

Were never together all days of the week
Some days I wish we didn’t have to get up on go to work
Cuz now the long distance is getting to me
Sometimes I feel like you’re all I need
My little love potion
My being in bitch mode remedy
Sometimes I feel like God, hand crafted an angel
That was made for me to call mine
No, it will never be all peachy and perfect
And I accept that because
Life can test you, to see if things are meant…to be

[Chorus]

I can’t sit still
You got me going crazy
I feel so warm when others have the chills
Love must be in the air
Cause this feeling is a new
Love is in the air
Cause I have an inkling that this so right
Love is in the air
I feel it
It’s in my heart
I can see it
Love is in the air
I feel it
It’s in my heart
I can see it
Love is in the air

[Verse 2]

I’ve been complete knocked off my feet
Cuz I never saw this coming
No really, sometimes It’s something I can’t even believe
I just want him to myself
Sometimes I find it hard for me to let him go
Even for him to chill with people who were before me
I’ve never been knocked off my feet
I’m not sprung, I just didn’t think this was a thing I’d ever see
Sometimes I feel like God, hand crafted an angel
That was made for me to call mine
No, it will never be all peachy and perfect
And I accept that because
Life can test you, to see if things are meant…to be

[Chorus]

I can’t sit still
You got me going crazy
I feel so warm when others have the chills
Love must be in the air
Cause this feeling is a new
Love is in the air
Cause I have an inkling that this so right
Love is in the air
I feel it
It’s in my heart
I can see it
Love is in the air
I feel it
It’s in my heart
I can see it
Love is in the air

[Bridge]

So if you found that one
The one you can’t see yourself without
The one who makes you feel warm when its cold
Throw ya hands to the sky!
Throw ya hands to the sky!
The one that makes you wanna scream and shout
Scream in should I’m in love, AND PROUD
Throw ya hands to the sky!
I’m not dreaming
Because it feels so real
Love is in the air
If you think you’re dreaming
[DREAMING]
[Go head and pinch yourself]
Love is in the air
If you think you’re dreaming
[Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh!]
Love is in the air
[Aaaaaairrrrrr!]
I’m screaming
Loud and proud
I’m in loooove!
Love is in the air
I have an inkling
That this is so right
I didn’t think it was something meant for me

[Outro]

[Oooooooohhhhhh]
I feel it
It’s in my heart
I can see it
Love is in the air
I feel it
It’s in my heart
I can see it
Love is in the air
[oooooohhhhh]
Love is in the air
[oooooohhhhh]
Love is in the air
