Eilidh Rose Greene was born on July 14th, 1995 in Edinburgh, Scotland but was mostly raised in Scottsdale, Arizona by Janice Greene. Eilidh's father, Eòghan Greene passed away shortly after she was born but her father was the one who named her because he thought of her as his "ray of sunshine" or "sun ray" which the name translates to. Growing up as an only child in a single parent home , Eilidh was a care-free, loving child. Her interests were that of a typical child but she also had a strong interest in theater and music. Although she wasn't very focused on her studies, she managed to finish her education up to middle school before becoming home schooled after a series of bullying incidents. Because of those events, Eilidh became very sheltered and withdrawn from others, including her family. She used her love of music to get her through home schooling, but once she was finished, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do in life. She loved singing but she was incredibly shy and insecure about her own talent. When Eilidh was just 17, she left home and the rest they say is history.

Eilidh would go on to do all sorts of things she never imagined she would, including ending up in the Celebrity Big Brother house. It was there she was exposed even more to the world and the world, in return, would fall in love with her bubbly, and bright personality. She would eventually outlast all her other opponents to win the season. During this time, Eilidh had also become a mother, and despite the negative light teen mothers were often painted in, she would balance both her personal life and career when the time came. It was only a few years later when she would dabble in music, her first collaboration being with Kourtney and "In My Head" would come to life. The single went on to sell over 2 million units and was definitely a stepping stone in her career. Eilidh was also asked to co-host the Chaos Awards, two years in a row, both were noted for being among the shows highest ratings. She would go on to work with Isabel and Austin Nimmo, both whom she had successful collaborations with and would be nominated for Chaos and Fan Choice Awards. In 2015, Eilidh released her very first solo single, "Cupid's Aim" which would go on to become a top seller. It also opened the door for her very first live televised performance at the Fan Choice Awards. Since then, Eilidh has released three solo songs, which all debuted at #1 on the Digital charts and Radio. She would also win an End of the Year Airplay award for "2016 Top Female Solo Airplay Record." It's clear Eilidh has surprised everyone and become a dark horse in the industry but it is her grace, talent, and determination that makes her the one and only Eilidh.

Fan Choice Awards 2015 Performance of "Cupid's Aim"

When her name is announced, there's a loud cheer from the fans in attendance that rips and echoes loudly throughout the arena, creating a tidal wave of sound that crashes down on the darkened stage violently, a reality sure to make anyone standing backstage ready to perform feel more than just a little nervous about what they're about to face. The reaction of the audience to the young pop star's mere name is clear indication of how hotly anticipated this moment was. The world had been waiting for a long time for Eilidh to bring out a debut solo single, and the slow build, coupled with the range of work she had done with other artist's on collaborations had made the anticipation and excitement for her solo career just all the more tangible. The excitement in the arena at the moment is at fever pitch, for two reasons; for most people, the chance to see Eilidh perform for the first time and see her showcase her fantastic powerful voice which belies her mannerisms is excitement enough, and for anyone else, the thought that ditzy little Eilidh might provide the viral video moment of the century with a fantastically awful failure on stage is just too good to miss. After a brief silence on the stage, the stage lights start to come on slowly, and the crowd cheers again, before a sudden burst of glitter emanates with a pop from each corner of the stage, showering the crowd in a glittery, shiny rainfall. At that moment, a banner unfurls and falls at the back of the stage, at long last revealing the single cover for Eilidh's debut, which also serves as the backdrop for tonight's performance.

UserPostedImage

After the backdrop falls, there's another brief pause, obviously inserted to ramp up the excitement and anticipation for the performance once again. But just then, from the empty stage, a puff of smoke rises in the very centre, before being joined by another little puff of sparkles and glitter which bursts from the same centre stage point. The crowd cheer again as the smoke dissipates across the stage, leaving it populated by just one tiny figure stood in the middle of the stage, an infectious beaming smile on her face as she looks out. The very second the crowd sees Eilidh stood there, a high-pitched scream of delight rips across the arena loudly again and causes Eilidh to raise her eyebrows in surprise. She could barely believe that such a wonderful reception had been reserved for her. Dressed in knee high sexy white boots, a short silver skirt and a matching crop top, she looks every inch the stunning pop star everyone has wanted her to be for so long.

But is there a problem? With no music accompanying her yet, Eilidh almost looks a little lost in the middle of the stage alone. She stands there for a second or two in the glaring spotlight which rains down on her, exposing her to the crowd and leaving most people feeling, certainly in a situation like this, vulnerable and alone. But not Eilidh, she just laps it up, blissfully unaware that there may even be a problem at all, and she stands there in the middle of the stage with her fantastic pop star outfit on, looking out across the crowd with her favourite blank stare, before she waves at everyone and smiles. It's hard to tell if she could see someone she knew or she was simply waving at everyone who was cheering for her at the moment. Just when it seems like the moment of Eilidh alone might have gone on a little too long, she puts her hand to her ear and nods quickly, before a troop of backing dancers start to fan onto the stage, encircling Eilidh entirely until she can barely be seen. One approaches her and says something into her ear, to which Eilidh nods and shuffles back a few steps. She had obviously not stood on the right mark when she arrived on stage. The crowd cheer again as the stage lights dim a little. Was this all set up? It's hard to know for sure, but everyone seems excited by the whole experience.

There's not much of a moment to think about the authenticity of the intro, however, because just a few seconds after the dancers arrive and the lights dim, the music kicks in. With a brass intro provided by trumpets, the catchy intro booms out over the audience as the dancers break out from their starting places. On the very first note, the dancers break free from their circle, bursting out across the stage in different directions like a dandelion being carried off in the wind. This leaves Eilidh alone once again in the spotlight. But something's changed. From the very first moment the music begins, Eilidh's expression changes. For what might be the first time in her life, there's a focus in her eyes, a confidence and a real determination. As the intro plays, Eilidh stands in the centre with one hand raised in the air, moving her hips rhythmically in time with the music as she smiles seductively into the camera giving a little giggle which she hides behind her hand as she gets ready to sing, the camera zooming in on her. This is an Eilidh so far removed from the stupid little girl most people think she is. She has an all-new confidence that belies everything everyone has ever known about her. It's empowering and exciting, and the mere sight of Eilidh swaying and dipping her hips is enough to send the crowd into raptures.

UserPostedImage

When the song kicks in for real and the intro ends, the stage is bathed in a striking light blue light, and at that very second, Eilidh turns to stare into one of the side cameras, blowing a little kiss towards it, before she starts to stride purposefully towards the front of the stage, raising the microphone to her mouth and letting her immensely powerful voice break free for the first time tonight. As she sings the first upbeat, happy verses of the song, she walks towards the front of the stage with real confidence, flanked by her dancers all the way as she raises a hand and takes some high steps as the pace of the verse slows towards the end. In the gap between the two verses, she hits a little jump step, her choreography proving as flawless as her voice, the lights changing to bathe the performer in a different glorious colour with each time her feet connect with the stage. Dressed as she is, Eilidh looks every bit the pop star, and no matter what anyone expected to see tonight, it was like the music had brought Eilidh some change in her mindset, and suddenly she wasn't that silly little girl people thought she was all the time. Now she looked so confident and flawless, the perfect pop performance so far as she struts confidently and dances perfectly throughout the opening verses.

Friends say lock him down, lock him, lock him, lock him down
Girls wanna have him now, have him, have him, have him now
Friends say lock him down, lock him, lock him, lock him down
Girls wanna have him now, have him, have him, have him now

The shoe doesn't fit, I'm not your Cinderella
I'll never be the one and I think it's time I tell ya
Stop dealing out cards when I don't know the game
Save it for your queen who'll know exactly how to play
I guess I found a good one at the wrong time
But my heart isn't in it so I'm gonna have to decline

At the end of the second verse of the song, a short interlude akin musically to the intro of the song plays on a loud brass section again, this time slower and more seductive than it was in the very start of the song, giving Eilidh and her dancers a chance to really flaunt their stuff. As she's flanked by two muscle-bound male dancers, the stage lights go dimmer and Eilidh stands between them, one hand on each of their shoulders as they bow to her, and she rolls her hips, first one side, then they other, sexily and slowly. There's a real swagger and attitude in her dancing that really shows how much she loves being on stage. Her performance was something no one would have ever expected from Eilidh, but the sexual overtones and the skilled timing and execution from the tiny star sends the crowd into raptures, cheering and yelling for her as she never misses a beat in her choreography. It's immediately evident how long and hard the young American has been working for this moment, and there's no way she's about to let her biggest chance to grab the spotlight pass her by. When the bridge finishes, there's a second where all that can be heard is three drum beats, one after the other, on which Eilidh stamps a foot each time and then raises her hand in the air, bringing more cheering yet again from the crowd.

UserPostedImage

The chorus, when it kicks in, is at a much slower pace than the upbeat, fast and happy verse, and it really allows Eilidh to show off that stunning voice she's got stored away. Turning her back and winking over her shoulder into the camera, she starts to walk towards the back of the stage slowly, raising her knee high on each step, in time with the music as she beautifully, flawlessly belts out the chorus of the song, which is instantly memorable and catchy. The high notes are designed to showcase the voice that Eilidh has hidden away for too long while the long drawn out lines of the chorus allow her to really show everyone the skill she has in pop delivery. Eilidh reaches the back of the stage just as the chorus comes to its crescendo, and as she sings through the last line of the chorus, namechecking Cupid, she stops and brings her free hand from her side, sliding all the way up her torso and her face before she raises it high above her head, giving her hips a little shake from side to side in time with the music. When she mentions Cupid, on cue, two oversized sparkling arrows fly in an arc from just beside Eilidh, high over her head. When the arrows collide high above the stage, they both burst into balls of glitter, once again raining down on the stage and the surrounding crowd.

You're the stuff of a teenage dream, such a sweet fantasy
But I've got other visions and you're a misshapen puzzle piece
We're not a perfect match, it's not all falling to place
Sweet sugar kisses but I can't eat the same thing everyday
To give a Prince Charming up surely must look insane
But it just wasn't enough when the arrow struck, we can blame Cupid's aim

At the same moment when the arrows collide symbolically above her head, Eilidh smiles and gives the camera yet another little seductive smile. The twinkle in her eye shows just how much the young singer is really enjoying herself up there on the stage. It's clear to see that this is where Eilidh is supposed to be as the beautiful glitter rains down on her and washes over her, landing perfectly in her hair and across her shoulders. At the same second the arrows hit each other, however, a group of the muscly backing dancers fall to the ground around Eilidh, dropping to their knees in a semi circle at her feet. She looks down at them as the bridge plays before the next verse and then taps a finger against her chin as if she's thinking intently, mulling something over. She winks into the camera and then shakes her head, stamping one of her long white boots down on the stage, which sends the dancers falling backwards as a red light bathes the stage and everyone on it. The visual is intensely impressive, and once again, the crowd cheer loudly. It was strange to see Eilidh so powerful and empowered, but she really did look so fantastic and so perfectly at home up on stage as she delivered a performance that really had to be seen to be believed for her - no one would have expected this.

When the next verse starts, Eilidh puts one hand intently on her hip as she raises her microphone, singing with real confidence and style now. She has a smile on her face that looks impossible to wipe off. It was clear that she was enjoying this moment more than anything, and no one could stop her from having a good time up there on stage. She was made for the stage and anyone in attendance could see that tonight. As she starts to sing, the backdrop falls from the back to show off a large screen, which has a massive pink heart on it. Eilidh's vocals start just as the heart breaks in two and falls in half, symbolic of her destroying her dancers a few seconds before, and as she brushes off her shoulders, she once more starts to strut towards the front of the stage. As she walks, singing, one cameraman gets too close to Eilidh, and in a break in the line of the song, she grabs the camera, kissing it full on the lens and giggling at the big lip print she leaves on the end of the lens. As she makes her way through the verse, she walks to the front, standing on the edge of the stage and walking along, dancers behind her in a line as she grins and waves to the people in the front row who are screaming out Eilidh's name and reaching out in vain towards her.

Friends say lock him down, lock him, lock him, lock him down
Girls wanna have him now, have him, have him, have him now
Friends say lock him down, lock him, lock him, lock him down
Girls wanna have him now, have him, have him, have him now

When you wrap me in your arms I feel so safe
There's nothing else quite like your warm embrace
But I can't give you the time, it's not fair this way
One last kiss before I let you go and watch you fly away
It was never meant to be and we can blame Cupid's aim.

UserPostedImage

At the end of what is the last verse of the song, Eilidh smiles and turns to the crowd before walking back to the centre of the stage. She turns and blows a kiss, dropping down to the floor slowly and seductively coming back to full height as she writhes and slithers, almost serpentine in her actions. If it had been anyone else in the world, it would have looked incredibly sexual and exciting, but on Eilidh it still looked a little weird to see her acting so sexy, when she was never really portrayed that way at all. As she stands in the middle of the stage, all dancers now gone, Eilidh is bathed in the spotlight once more, before the lights fade a little and the music slows down considerably. The last verse of the night is a much slower version than what was heard before, so the lights going darker help to herald the arrival of the final hurrah of the track. Eilidh stands there with her eyes fixed on the camera as she waits for the last bridge to end. Her stare is intense, almost predator like as she portrays the powerful woman that she's singing about throughout the song perfectly.

When the final chorus starts, Eilidh looks from side to side, lifting her free hand and seductively beckoning the dancers towards her with one finger as she sings through the chorus. Her powerful voice has changed tact a little in this final chorus, however. Unlike the belting and powerful force it was earlier in the song, at this point it rally does help to show off her whole range as she trades power for a more downplayed, subtle and smouldering style that really helps to bring out the seductive love theme of the track absolutely perfectly. As the dancers crawl closer, Eilidh turns to look at them, side to side, as if trying to banish them with her eyes, almost looking afraid as they, the personification of lust and love, move ever closer to her. As she reaches the stunningly delivered last line of the chorus, which again returns to that powerful voice she displayed at the start of the track, Eilidh looks like she almost gives in from trying to resist the dancers, something that the change in her voice alludes to as well. As they reach her, she puts her hand above her head again, closing her eyes as her dancers hands run up the outside of her thighs, then up the side of her torso and onto her shoulders.

As she sings the final word of the chorus, the dancers with their hands on Eilidh's shoulders suddenly start to tug and pull her down to the floor, until all of a sudden she can no longer be seen, inside what is almost a ball of muscle and oil. The dancers, now dressed in little cupid style wings, are completely hiding her from view at this point, and there's that brief moment of silence, before the light comes back, intense and white, washing across the stage, and the dancers burst back to life. As quickly as they engulfed Eilidh, they suddenly have the pint-sized princess hoisted up on their shoulders, effortlessly and flawlessly choreographed, as the rest of her performance has been so far tonight. As Eilidh sits above them, perched on the shoulders of two dancers, she beams out across the crowd before delivering the final line of the song.

Friends say lock him down, lock him, lock him, lock him down

she sings the last line with a big smile on her face, and as she delivers the final word of the track, the big screen behind her comes back to life once again. This time, the two sides of the heart that had fallen apart earlier in the night come back together at pace, crashing into each other to become a whole once more. At the second the two sides collide, more glitter, clearly a favourite material of Eilidh's erupts from the stage, this time fired out of two large cannons at each side of the stage, sending a cloud of pink glitter out across the crowd and into the farthest reaches of the arena effortlessly. At this stunning crescendo, the crowd starts to cheer loudly for Eilidh who still sits tall above the dancers, out of breath but with a bigger smile than you could ever imagined plastered across her face. This was a special night for Eilidh for sure. For years she has been ridiculed as nothing more than a silly little girl who happened to have a good voice, but tonight she proved that her long awaited arrival as a solo artist had very much been worth the wait. Her flawless choreography and perfect delivery was so on point it was hard to believe it was even Eilidh, and the crowd are lapping up a performance that, tonight, may have launched a brand new star.

UserPostedImage

When the crowd start to cheer and call her name, Eilidh's smile changes a little, almost like the end of the song made her return to "normal Eilidh" and she starts wave intensely towards everyone out in the crowd. It was like the start of the song brought her focus and determination that allowed her to be more smart than normal, giving her a purpose and a chance to prove herself that she was not going to miss, whereas the end of the song just meant she went back to being the sweet little Eilidh that everyone seemed to love. She smiles again and giggles a little before she raises the microphone. "Thank you so much this is the best day in all my life!" she yells, before blowing the crowd one last kiss as the stage goes dark. Just then, from the darkness comes Eilidh's voice one last time. "I can't see where I'm supposed to be going," she says into her microphone, sending a ripple of laughter through the crowd. They really loved her tonight.

Eilidh Greene may look like your typical, cookie cutter pop singer but after sitting down with her, I could tell she was special. Eilidh has the vocal chops of a seasoned veteran yet the attitude and innocence of a newborn child. Whether it’s talking about music, her kids, or her love life, Eilidh is a simple girl with some complicated thoughts. She got her start by lending her vocals on tracks such as “In My Head,” “Muse,” and “City That Never Sleeps” but it was her own solo single that really got people’s attention, “Cupid’s Aim.” The doo wop, pop song was just what the industry needed because it was different and yet not too different to where it wasn’t connecting with her audience. Although she’s a rookie and has a long way to go, she’ll likely have a long and prosperous career ahead of her. That is if she can manage to remember she’s a Popstar.

With her first official single from her new album, “What You Mean” is definitely a step in the right direction. It’s a song that will stand out among her peers and get her the recognition she needs. With standout vocals and sweet lyrics, it’s a sure formula for a hit. Judging by her last and only performance, she might also be able to create visuals for her music, but it’s still too early to say for sure how her future will turn out. The sweetness of Isabel, the voice of Mariah Carey, and the looks of Britney Spears (referencing her youthful look obviously) the sky is sure to be the limit for this tiny but grand singer.
This is Eilidh.

So first off, a question that everyone wants to know…how do you pronounce your name?

“Hi guys! My name is Eilidh. If you spell it, it’s E-I-L-I-D-H and it’s pronounced like island except no D sound at the end and almost like you say I like but you don’t.”

Alright….tell us about your new single, “What You Mean.”

“Well my friends Kelly Vega and Eris wrote it! They are so nice and let me sing the song. My producer told me to make sure I sing good so everybody would want to buy the song. I like it because it’s fun to dance to and I have fun singing it. I sing it in the shower, and in the kitchen when I make pancakes. My doggies like the song too!”

How would you describe the song?

“There’s loud horns and me singing. It was really loud in the studio so I had to cover my ears with headphones, but they were playing music in them and I had to sing with the music. It was so hard! But I had to keep doing it until I did it right because I wanted it to sound perfect.”

“Cupid’s Aim” was very well received after your performance at last year’s Fan Choice Awards, mainly your performance. What was the concept?

“My manager said that it should be like the song and be fun so we did a fun performance! I really liked the big baby in the background with the arrow because he was cute. Ooh! I loved my sparkly dress too! It was nice but it was missing part of it in the middle so you could see my stomach and I got chilly, but I couldn’t worry about that because I was singing in front of everyone. I remembered every single step too, go Eilidh!”

Could you give us some details on your upcoming album? What can listeners expect?

“Um, it’s really a fun album because I had fun making it. There’s a lot of upbeat songs but a few sad songs. I got to make a song with some nice people but I’m not allowed to say who yet. They told me to wait. Ummmm….oh, there’s a song on there that talks about falling asleep and then not wanting to wake up! It’s slow and they told me to think about Oscar when I sing it and I did but then I felt funny. And there’s this one song I sing with a girl, it’s about girls and it sounds like something you play on a beach!”

Okay, so how does a typical day for Eilidh go?

“Well most days I wake up then I take a bath and eat cereal. My favorite kind are Fruity Pebbles! Then, I help give food to the doggies and Roo and Rocco. Then, sometimes I like to watch cartoons with them but then sometimes I have to go to the studio and make music all day long. We get to eat food and listen to music too! One time, it was raining and I baked cookies. Or I tried too but Oscar said that I couldn’t leave the stove on when I went to take a nap and there was smoke everywhere so I don’t bake cookies anymore. This morning, I did all of that except I didn’t have to go to the studio because the song is finished! I had cereal and some fruit. I played with Roo and Rocco before I came here and now I’m here!”

Sounds pretty eventful. Is there any word on when your album will be released?

“They sad my album will probably be out in summer so that’s in the next month right?”

Well, Summer would start in May.

“Oh! Well then in May. It’s gonna be really hot and people can listen to my album, yay!”

Are there any collabs that you’re excited for?

“I like all of them! My favorite on is the one about girls though. It’s not a bad song, it’s very good. My manager said its very positive and will get me a lot of friends because it’s nice.”

Are there any current songs out now that you like?

“Sure there are! I like the song about drums because I like drums and they are funny. I was in the video for it too! He asked my manager and he said it would be good for me to be in it and be famous. I also like the song about being hurt because its easy for me to remember. It goes like ‘hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt!’ And I never forget that part! I like Mi Mi too but I thought it was weird they were named one name when there’s 4 of them. I think all their names are Mi Mi. It confuses me and makes my head hurt. Am I supposed to call them all Mi Mi? I like that name. I had a nana called Mi Mi but she died.”

Uhh…..okay. So, before you play your song for the first time for everyone, is there anything you’d like to say?

“Well, I just wanted to say that I love everyone and I hope you all like my songs! I hope nobody hates them because that would make Eilidh sad and I don’t like being sad. I worked really hard to make sure I sounded good and I can’t wait for everyone to see the video too! It’s really fancy with lots of pink and dancing. It’s like one big party!”

Alright so you can go ahead and introduce the track for everyone!

“Okay! This is my song and it’s called ‘What You Mean’ I sing it and I’m going to perform it next week so hope you guys really, really love it, okay? Enjoy!”

"What You Mean" is the debut single from Eilidh from her upcoming debut album which is set to be released this year. After being signed to Five Pesky Kids, Eilidh performed "Cupid's Aim" at the Fan Choice Awards last year, even though the song was never announced as a single or officially released as one. Instead, it was allowed to be streamed through various streaming devices. It wasn't until early March, Eilidh announced via social media that she had been working on new music and would be releasing her first album and single soon. While Eilidh is more known for her gracing television screens everywhere due to her Celebrity Big Brother stint and being the fiancée of Weekend member Oscar Ward, she had always dabbled in music, being featured on hit songs with Kourtney, Isabel, and even Austin Nimmo. While no plans to go solo were ever revealed, the singer was met with high demand on releasing her own material. In an interview with Culture Uncut, Eilidh described the song as being very upbeat and fun, and having a little bit of 90's influence. She also said the album was almost finished and she's excited of finally getting to make more music. The single was written by Kelly Vega, and Eris Montoya with production from Eris Montoya.

Starting off with Eilidh's innocent giggle, we are introduced to the 90's inspired dance beat with a couple of finger snaps and Eilidh whispering "I just want you to say what you mean" before going into the upbeat tempo. Eilidh enters with a bang, starting off with her powerhouse vocals as she glides through the first verse with ease. There's a lot of sass to her singing, giving the song an extra life to it and not just her singing the song. When the pre-chorus comes up, Eilidh stretches out the first few syllables with a small vocal scale as she sings it with ease. Towards the end, her voice snaps back to the innocent and delicate tone that she is known for giving. In the chorus, the thumping beat continues on. The great thing about the beat is it's really infectious and great for dancing to, it has a big feeling to it which is probably perfect for someone with such impressive vocal abilities. The chorus also features some pan-fluting. The second verse doesn't differentiate much from the first one. Of course, the sweet topping to such a delicious track is the bridge, in which we get the typical pop dramatic climax to the song, which proves to not be just for nothing. Eilidh takes charge with her continuing demand for attention as she belts out the last few lines of the bridge. All in all, it's a great (re) introduction to Pop's latest addition and serves a very much adult feel to it. The ad-libs are also to die for. Generally, ad-libs are added on in order to make the singer look better. Eilidh didn't really need the extra ad-libs but the song wouldn't be quite complete without them now. She continues to show her impressive range for someone so tiny and petite. The lyrics aren't short of sass either as the singer demands to know the true intentions of the other person, wanting them to say what they really mean instead of beating around the bush.

Ooh, ooh
I just want you to say what you mean

It’s always nice to know exactly how you feel
But you keep holding back, so tell me what’s the deal?
We’re at an intersection and I’m about to go
If you really want me to stay, you better let me know

You love, always taking me for granted
Now you, got a little too comfortable
So glad, you’re starting to feel the panic
Because I love to keep you on your toes
Ain’t nothing ever promised

Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
I don’t need your sweet nothings
All I want is you to love me
Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say

Hey, hee-ey

I’ll never be the type for a quick satisfaction
I’m such a visual lover, and baby I need some action
Why’s it so hard for you to tell me your true thoughts?
Maybe it’s because you don’t really feel what I want

You love, always taking me for granted
Now you, got a little too comfortable
So glad, you’re starting to feel the panic
Because I love to keep you on your toes
Ain’t nothing ever promised

Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
I don’t need your sweet nothings
All I want is you to love me
Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
(x2)

You know I’m running out of patience
And you know you’re running out of chances
I never wanted something so simple
But you’re making this way complicated
Ooh
Ohh, just mean it!

Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
I don’t need your sweet nothings
All I want is you to love me
Don’t just start saying it, I need you to mean what you say
(x2)

"Before Your Body" is the second single by Pop singer Eilidh. Once again she turned to Eris Montoya for production and songwriting along with Kelly Vega, and singer/songwriter, Dylan Shaw. After the huge success of her previous single, "What You Mean," the singer catapulted into new territory in terms of popularity and recognition. While the songs have some of the same elements, they are virtually different. Both have the same 90's inspired sound template but this single features a more Electronic vibe, giving it its spark. The whole song has a warmth to it and Eilidh's vocals softly caress the beat. One word to describe the track would be sensual except for the fact the lyrics are self-empowering. The cleverly titled, "Before Your Body," pays tribute to the idea of being more than who you date or fall in love with. It gives reassurance to listeners that they were and still are their own person. It may seem a bit ironic for a pop singer to sing about ones self-identity in an industry filled with clones but you can hear and feel the sincerity coming from Eilidh's voice.

The song is definitely a great club banger and perfect to celebrate the summer with. What she lacks in mental capacity, she more than makes up with vocal talent. From beginning to end, there's an optimistic energy surrounding the track as Eilidh's light vocals boom across the listener's ears. What really stands out are the lyrics. They have just the right amount of poetry and the right amount of Eilidh in them, meaning they never sound like lyrics you couldn't picture Eilidh singing. As she effortlessly hits all the right notes in all the right places, the song is shaping up to be another instant classic for the newcomer. The simple production also stands out with its nostalgic feel thrown out to the audience. The song can be compared to that of Katy Perry with its deliciously filled pop sound. As stated before, the lyrics touch on reclaiming one's identity and simply stating she is her own individual person.

There you go again assuming that I need you
I hate to break it to you babe
I can’t wait until the day you finally realize
That I can handle what you bring

You think you’re my all when it comes to you
But I can pretend you don’t exist
You’re not my beginning and this is where we end
You’re not worth the time that I’ve spent
You think you’re my all when it comes to you
But I can pretend you don’t exist
You’re not my beginning and this is where we end
This is the end

So let me, me remind you
I was somebody, before your body
Was ever even in the picture
It was so sunny, you were my cloudy
I was just fine, yeah,
Before you were ever in the picture
Before you were ever in the picture

There was light behind these eyes before your darkness
There was no fire in your flame
I can't believe you'd ever think about mistreatin'
The only one who's kept you sa-a-ane!
I'm the only one who kept you sa-a-ane!

So let me, me remind you
I was somebody, before your body
Was ever even in the picture
It was so sunny, you were my cloudy
I was just fine, yeah,
Before you were ever in the picture
Before you were ever in the picture

I won't give you all the praise now
You can't even take all of the blame
Every little thing that gets lost can be found
A rainbow can never shine without the rain
You think you’re my all when it comes to you
But I can pretend you don’t exist
You’re not my beginning and this is where we end
You’re not worth the time that I’ve spent
You think you’re my all when it comes to you
But I can pretend you don’t exist
You’re not my beginning and this is where we end
This is the end

So let me, me remind you
I was somebody, before you baby
So let me, me remind you
I was somebody, before your body

So let me, me remind you
I was somebody, before your body
Was ever even in the picture
It was so sunny, you were my cloudy
I was just fine, yeah,
Before you were ever in the picture
Before you were ever in the picture

OOC: I loooove everything you are bringing with Eilidh and she really served it in 2016 after a long awaited debut. It was well worth the wait and I can't wait for the album. Great work as usual and Before Your Body is the perfect follow up to What You Mean. The lyrics in the chorus are so damn catchy, like a real pop song. Nice work Tequila.

Genre: Pop, Electro-R&B
Format: Digital Download
Label: Five Pesky Kids
Written By: Nick Monson, Hector Delgado
Produced By: Nick Monson, Dreamlab

"Sweetest of Dreams" serves as the third single from Eilidh's debut album due this Spring. It features Deneil Khan, who has made shocks and waves throughout the hip hop and pop culture community. While this year has been undoubtedly one of the most controversial in music, Eilidh finds herself focusing on securing herself as one of Pop music's brightest new stars. The pop, electro-R&B track, which was produced by Nick Monson, Dreamlab, and Hector Delgado, stands out if you've been paying attention to her recent string of singles. Previously, the singer seemed to be fond of tracks with a 90's twist but this one sounds much more recent and modern as an R&B slow jam.

After two hit singles, the anticipation was high to see what more Eilidh could deliver, so, "Sweetest of Dreams" was released on March 6th, 2017. The track was written and recorded with just Eilidh's vocals last year but her label decided it should feature someone else and Deneil was perfect for that slot. It has elements of hip hop that gives it a mellow, low key, snap-drop beat. It has minor sound bursts, percussion instrumentation, drum machines, and Eilidh's breathy and seductive vocals asking if he dreams of her, seemingly at any time throughout the day. Deneil adds to the equation by giving a verse filled with innuendos, and alluring lyrics that give the listener a steamy experience from start to finish. The song shows Eilidh's more sexy side which is something the public isn't used to. "This track is a great representation of how her album will be," says Nick Monson. "It will show Eilidh being the woman that many people forget she is. She's always being labeled as a naive child but this album will quickly refute that. Each song will show her artistry and her creativity."

It was also revealed on Twitter after a still leaked, that a music video has been shot for the single.

Said you’ve been awake all night and just can’t fall asleep
Could the reason be because of me?
Are you still thinking about that moment our eyes met?
Cus I am, I am

I don’t even know your name but the feeling remains the same
I just want to stay locked in your brain

At the risk of sounding cocky
I hope you dream about me
And I hope they are the sweetest of dreams
I hope it hurts to open your eyes and have to tell me goodbye
Just as long as I’m on your mind, on your mind
On your mind, oh oh

Even when you’re stuck in traffic
Start daydreamin’ cus you gotta have it
I hope that I’m the first thought in your head
Hope you can’t contain it and you have to try to tame it
Just breathe, baby just breathe

I don’t even know your name but the feeling remains the same
I just want to stay locked in your brain

At the risk of sounding cocky
I hope you dream about me
And I hope they are the sweetest of dreams
I hope it hurts to open your eyes and have to tell me goodbye
Just as long as I’m on your mind, on your mind
On your mind, oh oh
And I hope, I hope
And I hope, I hope
They are the sweetest of dreams, mhm

Ooh I hope you dream of me
Pray that I’m your ecstasy
Dream of me the sweetest dreams, the sweetest dreams

Yeah, the sweetest dreams under the coldest sheets
Nothing but my thoughts through the night are there for me
I'm bare, on the edge, reaching to touch the fruits of my fantasy
If I keep going, I'll end up like you, just be too blind to see
Probably just a flicker in your eye as you glide across the floor
Mandem glued to that waist, bet all the wastemen are knocking at your door
Can't you see that you're the only one I come for?
The only girl I want backstage right after my encore
In my mind it's all sweet and French kisses, mwah
Voulez-vous monter avec moi?
Quand on roule, on jette un œil sur les rétroviseurs
Par hantise de voir les plaques de Mr. Officer
Called a smooth criminal, my ride's a real lady killer
On the edge of your seat kinda epic like MJ'S Thriller
Always serving it up real good, I'm the Count, you're my dinner
Wanna steal your heart just like an old school villain
Like armed robbery, man sliding down from that ceiling
Get you good, this weapon always posing a threat
When we've waited this long, no holding back, no need for code red
Breaking the law kind of madness, handcuff you up to the bed
Lay out all our cards, strip search from the toes up to the head
Dawn breaks, Mr Sunshine streaming right into my eyes
Empty bed, burst of panic and then I go and realise
Was only another sweet, sweet dream and I've woke up from paradise

At the risk of sounding cocky
I hope you dream about me
And I hope they are the sweetest of dreams
I hope it hurts to open your eyes and have to tell me goodbye
Just as long as I’m on your mind, on your mind
On your mind, oh oh
And I hope, I hope
They are the sweetest of dreams, mhm

Deneil: The final outcome was pretty sick, innit? I tried my best not to use cuss words, like. Wanted to do the song justice and not make it too smutty, talking about cumshots and pussy and that, you get me fam? Tried to make it as smooth sounding as possible. Even got my French out, didn't I? Eilidh is mad talented and this song right here is fucking wicked.

OOC: So happy that you allowed me to be part of this. Eilidh has been one of my favourite characters on here for the longest time and this collaboration allowed me to show a more romantic/sensual side to Deneil as a rapper. Great work :)

"My God! We truly are a talented bunch. The fact that we write entire albums all on our own while the biggest stars in the world have 45 co-writers on ONE track?? Where the hell are OUR record deals and GRAMMYS?" -BrownSugar
