Back in action after an unnecessary break, but we have moved over onto an entirely new site, with a change in management, some new additions to the PicturePerfect team, all the while keeping the same awesome features that you've grown to know and love about us. Just to get our feet wet, this weeks Unbecoming's will highlight some noteworthy and occurrences. Shoot!

• Layla of the pop girl group SYNCO announces her departure from the group. The decision for her to leave was met with a mixed reaction from the twitter-verse. There oddly, still hasn't been a response from her former group-mates. Did they not care that much?

• Riot! In the Boulevard announces their highly anticipated album "Young Cardinals", which should be a very good album. We look forward to doing a track-by-track for a future "Unbecomings".

• Joshua Grimmie announced in a heart-felt letter that he is diagnosed with bipolar disorder and the news was met with an (mostly) overwhelming support from different celebrities and supporters.

• The New Heroes premiere brought out some A-list celebrities including Isabel, Bilal Holmes, Aubrey Mikkel, Rum and more! Some of the best dressed of the night were Cristina Lake, Dakota, Victoria Black and Lexi Marie Taylor. And the some of the worst: Mariko, Rum, and Chris Walker.

• The New Heroes went #1 at the box office and managed to break box office records.

• Eric Hess was injured and hospitalized after purchasing and driving a 55 year old train right off the rails. Rock star life. Luckily Hess wasn't killed and was released the next morning.

• Rum announces new album, "Try Forgiveness" which desperately needs a new single. The anticipation for the album is waning, especially with Coke in full promotional swing. The only single we have gotten from "Try Forgiveness" was "Ain't That Deep", and that was released last year.

• Radio Vine reappeared for the first time in over three years to announce her E.P "F.O.A.M.S" just to fade into obscurity once again.

• Elyar Black announces his upcoming album "Unclassified". Singles "Superpower" and "Gold Digger" have since been released.

• Mandy Williams announced that "Don't Talk To Me" would be the final single released before her anticipated album, Electrified is released. DTTM was a pretty good record.

• Abie Lena returns following a hiatus and announces a must see "Comeback Event and World Tour", now that's how you go about coming back, Radio, take notes. The tour kicks off 9/7!

• Austin Nimmo managed to have the longest running number one on the charts this year with "Strength".

• Gemma Kane and Elyar Black announced that they were dating, and it was met with a mostly negative response and quite a few twitter feuds. Gemma and Elyar vs. Lexi Marie Taylor and her boyfriend.

• James Urie begins streaming his new album "Liberty?" including track "Kill You With Kindess" which apparently includes jibes at his ex wife, none other than the Gemma Kane! This too, causes a twitter spat. James Urie didn't respond but instead James's current girlfriend and rapper, Lotus, made some cryptic posts on Instagram.

• Kidd Amaze appears on a very funny episode of Wild N'Out and looked good out there! He has charisma and star quality that gave Nick Cannon a run for his money on his own show.

• Eilidh releases her highly anticipated album "Head In The Clouds". Some album highlights were "What You Mean", "Fragile" and "Take Me There".

• Upcoming "I Will Be Your Mirror" guest, Coke poses for Playboy with boyfriend Kidd Amaze. We learned a lot about the both of them. Including their knack for getting it on even when Kidd Amaze is asleep and let's not forgot Kidd's "three rings".

• Joshua Grimmie announced "The Story Of A Heart" tour which boasts 69 dates, at affordable prices. Elite VIP goers are promised one-on-one conversations with Grimmie himself! The tour kicks off 10/16.

• Lincoln is releasing a perfume entitled "Glory". The scent is said to be "bright and sensually sweet".

• SYNCO and management had reportedly hired a team of writers for their next album, with the new single being produced by Stromae. One question, when will THEY start writing?

• In a shocking new development, Hannah Beth Merjos tragically passed away. Rest in Peace and we are sending our condolences to the Merjos family.

• Eilidh announced the dates to her upcoming "Head In The Clouds" tour kicking off 1/25/18. You might want to save up in the mean time.

THE GOOD:
• Coke and Dominic Brown compliment eachother in this collaboration. It's hard to imagine Coke working with many other artists considering the fact that she mostly working alongside her sister Rum. But, Coke and Dominic seem like a match made in music heaven.

• Coke and Dominic's vocals are sexy and deep, and it goes perfectly with the the latin vibe.

• Samples the classic "Maria Maria" by Santana, giving the song a nostalgic touch.

• Coke trades in her usual alternative sound for something new, and when done properly, it's gold. In this case, it was done properly.

THE BAD:
• The lyrics are clever, but confusing and hard to follow and understand.

• The "Connect the dots, no polka" line was cringey and un-needed

THE VERDICT:
•BUY THIS! I dare to say that this is a key in for song of the summer. It was released at the perfect time considering that Now You See Me didn't make waves like it was thought to. It looks like Coke went back to the drawing board and came back with something more appealing.

UserPostedImage
THE GOOD:
• Cassie Valentine's vocals are superb. It's almost like she effortlessly sings wonderfully and that's what's most good about "Love"

• The spoken bit ending the song is both haunting and sensual.

• Love's chorus stands out, where Cassie does nice vocals runs.

• The laidback, chilled vibe doesn't seem too try hard and it feels very natural and vibey.

THE BAD:
• Young Hood doesn't really add much to the record and so wasn't really needed on this song.

• The lyrics also don't go anywhere aside from being a deep "break up song".

THE VERDICT:
SUPPORT THIS! Cassie Valentine has come off a very successful year and she hasn't missed a beat. Cassie seems to be going in a slightly new direction with the new material, trading in R&B/Pop of her last album for something more eccentric, vibey and more soulful than she's already been.

UserPostedImage
THE GOOD:
• The thudding club beats, lurking synths and sharp clicks gives the song an instantly catchy vibe.

• Wonderful production values

• The artwork.

• "I missed my window, you could've been an out / Took too long to make a play, I'm watching from the sidelines now"

• The chorus is above average both production wise and lyrically.

THE BAD:
• It goes no where vocally.

• It completely overshadowed "Sex On The Beach", which is arguably the better song.

THE VERDICT:
BUY THIS! It's nice to see Misu go from being nominated for the artist to watch award at the FCA, and going on to achieve number one hit status. At least we know her music career won't be as short lived as her CBB stint. It's compelling to see where she goes next after releasing two quality singles at the same time. There's a lot for her to live up to now.

UserPostedImage
THE GOOD:

• The Spanish intro of the song that gets cut off by the aggressive backing beat. It gives the song an instant "listen more" appeal.

• The latin influences throughout "Anarchy", especially during the chorus, was cleverly produced and placed.

• The overall sound is nothing like other rap songs currently out.

• Payton's flow in general, and throughout the song is unique and often times when you hear him rap, you know it's Payton.

• Payton's fiery verses are good and don't let up, he sounds focused like never before.

THE BAD:

• The chorus is too repetitive.

• The clean version is too heavily edited and leaves the song sounding quite odd.

THE VERDICT:

SUPPORT THIS! Payton has been overlooked for some time for his rapping. He clearly hasn't taken to this kindly and has released his best rap song yet. After a successful run and win on Celebrity Big Brother, naysayers of Payton should really take notice now that he's found his niche and honed in on it. I'm sure he's got more.

UserPostedImage
THE GOOD:
• The creepy, dark and mysterious production values gives us a sound that Barbie Doll has made somewhat of her signature. No one sounds like her.

• Barbie Doll's raspy, unique vocals only adds to the unique record.

• The song tells a heartbreaking tale, a welcomed change in subject from what we are currently getting on the radio.

• The songs beat sounds like a creepy, lullaby. Very clever and different.

• Production and vocal wise, the chorus is big!

THE BAD:

• Sounds too much like her previous releases, mostly like "Dead"

• Given the subject matter of the song, the lyrics fall flat.

• The song is too short and can leave the listeners thinking, "that's it?"

THE VERDICT:

BUY THIS! Barbie Doll is criminally underrated, mostly due to her lack of consistency but we respect that she does not conform to industry norms and maintains in her own lane and has her own sound. Her career deserves to be on the next level, but it's up to her to make sure she gets out there and makes it happen.

The Celebrity Big Brother Finale has EVERYONE talking and we here at PICTUREPERFECT want to congratulate Payton on his win! 7 of 12 writers at PICTUREPERFECT agreed that this was one of their favorite seasons of the franchise, mostly because everyone seemed to be themselves throughout, and there was no-one who seemed like a try hard camera hog. Everyone was straight up about who they were and even though the season lacked fights and drama, it made up for it in nudity and hooks ups. Here are the general opinions of the 11 housemates discussed amongst a panel of 12 writers.

Nina - Nina lived up to our expectations and was so entertaining throughout the entire season. Always up for anything, she was often getting Reuben and Payton to do silly things. The queen of banter, Nina offered nudity, sass, and an overall good time throughout her stay. A favorite among the panel. 11 of 12 panelists enjoyed Nina on CBB6

Gretchen - Gretchen was sweetheart nearly as witty and crazy as Nina. Her and Nina made the perfect tandem, although she stood in Nina's shadow throughout. We would have liked to see Gretchen be more of a "soloist" and not just Nina's tag team partner in the Celebrity Big Brother House. 8 of 12 panelists enjoyed Nina on CBB6

Tatiana - Tatiana was suppose to be the "stirrer" of drama but she fell pretty flat at doing that in the house. We wanted to see the "Legit Dont Like You" persona come into the house and really get things started but that persona never really came out. On the bright side, it showed that Tatiana isn't all that bad. Still, when we saw her name and photo come up as a cast mate, we thought she was going to be one of the most entertaining and unfortunately, she wasn't. 3 of 12 panelists enjoyed Tatiana on CBB6

Tyler - The underdog! Tyler came out of this actually looking rather well. He went into the house as the least known housemate and made it to the final. Tyler had a knack for trying to get under people's skin in the beginning of the season but that was quickly put to a stop when Payton threw a glass bowl at his head after a near fight. He spent the rest of the season keeping it calm, cool and collective, and it worked. Dodging eliminations left and right, he made it to the final. 7 of 12 panelists enjoyed Tyler on CBB6

Payton - As Nina said at one point during the season, Payton was the "life of the party." during the season. The winner! At first, we weren't so sure about Payton going into the Celebrity Big Brother house. Most of us thought he would go in and get very, very annoying quickly, but we turned out to be wrong. Always up for a shot, or a smoke, Payton added comedic relief, entertainment and a bit of drama to the Celebrity Big Brother house. Not to mention his hot and heavy on screen hook up with Liyah and his adorable relationship with his cousin Reuben, and an iconic entrance into the house, Payton offered more than one could imagine and he'll be remembered with the CBB greats after his run. 9 of 12 panelists enjoyed Payton on CBB6

Reuben - Reuben came into the CBB6 as someone people didn't really know of if they weren't familiar with his former show but he quickly solidified himself as a gentleman with a wild side! It was wonderful seeing Reuben on CBB6 as he completely found himself on the series. He started out as a shy, conservative individual but broke out of his shell. Nudity! Shots! And even a smoke! Reuben kept up with his cousin Payton and even sparked up a romance. Making it to the final 2, Reuben had a really successful run on CBB6. 10 of 12 panelists enjoyed Reuben on CBB6

Sabina - Sabina came into the house as the glamour girl who we thought would crack under pressure and be the first to walk. Unfortunately we were wrong, Sabina held it together and made it to the final 5. Sabina wasn't apart of most of the crazy antics in the house, but she made sure the house was clean (it had better be) and generally seemed like a caring person. One of the girls who offered eye candy, she left a lot to the imagination as she refused to do any nude or anything out of the ordinary. We wanted Sabina to show her wild side. The wildest she got was a hot hookup with Reuben under the covers. But we wanted more! 6 of 12 panelists enjoyed Sabina on CBB6.

Misu - She walked! But she shouldn't have. The brief moments we got to see Misu were great, her choice of words were T.V gold but she left it go too early. If she would have stayed, we believe she would have made it really far in the competition. 2 of 12 panelists enjoyed Misu on CBB6

Chaelin - Chaelin was a complete let down. She barely had any camera time and this was really her time for people to get to know her away from her former CBMD group. She let it slip past. A beautiful and down to earth girl, she got eliminated rather quickly. 1 of 12 panelists enjoyed Chaelin on CBB6.

Liyah - Liyah was a standout in CBB6 because of her laid back, home-girl attitude that we wanted to see more of. You can tell she was really just being herself throughout the time she was there. Her and Payton complimented eachother well and they had a HOT moment on Celebrity Big Brother. We believe Liyah should have made it further into the competition. 8 of 12 panelists enjoyed Liyah on CBB6.

Kyle - Kyle was another one who experienced entirely new things on CBB6. As the youngest housemate, he quickly showed that he DIDN'T want to be known as the baby of the house and was mature enough to keep up with the older contestants. He managed to even kiss Tatiana after a game of Truth or Dare and try some shrooms that he didn't even know were actually shrooms! 5 of 12 panelists enjoyed Kyle on CBB6.

Cara - Cara is a beloved blogger, business woman and fashion designer. But reality TV just isn't her forte. We nearly forgot her on this list because her stay was so short lived! She came across as a bit judgy, but she was cool girl from the start. It would have been nice to see her stick around and show herself more. 1 of 12 panelists enjoyed Cara on CBB6

Rico - Last but not least is Rico. The suave, and fun housemate got on well with everyone in the house and was always up for some fun. After Payton woke up with a bulge, Rico started to show his off everyday and, a bit...too much that it became quite weird after a while. A "no wonder why I have a boner ...it's because of the woman in here" joke said to Sabina didn't sit too well with viewers either, but we know Rico only meant it to be funny. 5 of 12 panelists enjoyed Rico on CBB6.

Hope you enjoyed the read!

Hello Coke, it's an honor to have you here for the very first I Will Be Your Mirror since the relaunch of PicturePerfect. Cheers!

Thank you so much! I don't do a lot of interviews but I'm really starting to warm up to them these days. So happy to sit down with you guys.

How has 2017 been treating you? What has been your highest point this year, and your lowest?

Oh, child...2017 has had the meanest grip on my wig. There's never a moment where I don't feel like my life is being dragged around and tossed across the room. But that's okay! I realized everything is completely fine because my highest point in the year was noticing that no matter what, I was still making it through this hellride. I'm a survivor, forgetting that was my only real low.

Rewind a few years back, you and Rum released your first single and signed a major label deal. What was the feeling at the moment?

For me, it was definitely a feeling of security. We were no longer chasing our dream, we were living it. I could finally be at peace and settle down in this new style. It was the calm before the storm: Rum & Coke were finally on Hollywood's radar and we weren't going anywhere.

Would you say you were welcomed with open arms in the industry?

It's hard to say. We weren't outright shut out but no one really took us serious. At that time we were doing Hip Hop when no one else was, not to mention how alternative our music was, and on top of that we were 2 young beautiful women. We had to break through all the music barriers, sexism barriers and god knows what else. Think its safe to say we did, and I'm very proud that we could without ever compromising ourselves.

Fast-forward and you've managed to sell over 20 million records. Did you ever think it'd happen in such a short span of time?

Absolutely. I didn't come in the business stunned and starstruck. I knew what I was capable of and I know how to get what I want. Still a long ways to go, my goals are never-ending.

You are often compared to your own sister in the work that you do. How do you and Rum stay level headed in a business where you are often compared to, and even pitted against your own sibling?

Yikes, I really hope no one really thinks we're related! That makes everything so...weird! She was born in Cuba, I was born in Canada. We're just doppelgangers who ran into each other when we were maybe 13 and have been stuck together ever since. In a way, I really understand the comparisons. People are just so used to seeing us side by side, they can't help it. We go out of our way to craft our own individual identities, definitely. But we don't let any of the negativity get in between us, we laugh when people pit us against each other. Its just so unnecessary. Rum & Coke been knew who the better singer in Rum & Coke is, can y'all just shut the hell up?

This week you released a promotional record, "HOLES", and it speaks of depression. How do you cope with such a thing?

It's really not something you cope with. It never truly goes away, you just have to find the strength needed to coexist with depression. I feel like I'm doing better at that these days. Sometimes you gotta swim with the tide and I've been learning how to embrace all the anxiety, as well as the disinterest in life that depression brings. Ultimately, it's a learning process and I'm just still learning.

What advice do you give to your own fans who may feel the same way that you do?

It's 2017, we are surrounded by technology these days. Utilize it. There is so much information out there, so many people to talk about it with...literally, just Google depression and watch it all fall into your lap. Learn about what you're dealing with and how to deal with it. Also, you need need need to talk it out with a professional at some point. Your mental health is important, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

You're an artist that has achieved a lot in such a short span of time, but would you rather respect or success?

I feel like both are just as important. A true artist should never have to choose and if I know what I'm doing, I won't.

You are constantly in the public eye, does it ever get hard for you to open up in your music, or does that make it easier?

I've always been really secretive because that's how my family prefers it. That led me to have a deep urge to be more vocal about my personal life and now that I am its...it felt easy when I was writing it all but now that it's actually being released? It's been SO hard! Especially having to answer all of these questions about it. Some things just sound so much better in song.

You and your husband, Kidd Amaze, posed for playboy not too long ago, how was the experience?

I was nervous because they made him wear those 3 rings. I heard that if you keep them on for too long your..you know..could fall off. He had on 3!! I kept trying to rush the photographer and I was constantly checking up on him. "Are you okay??...Can you still feel it?" [LAUGHS] The whole thing was such a mess. But it came out great!

Did you feel uncomfortable sharing such personal, and intimate information? Not to mention getting naked on camera?

Nope! I'm so comfortable with my sexuality and I look great naked. The entire day was just full of laughs and love. I'm way too grown to play like sex is so forbidden and taboo. It was so casual, I wish all my photoshoots were that fun!

Does it ever get hard to have a relationship that so heavily publicized?

I think publicized relationships can be a lot for some people but for Kidd and I, it's the last thing on our minds. We're obsessed with each other and we don't care what the world thinks about it. We have bigger things on our plate.

UserPostedImage

Many people may not know that you are a very successful songwriter, have you ever written a song for someone and thought.."I should have kept that song for myself"?

Reese Hollinsworth "Stockholm" was such a good one and a peice of me just really wanted the whole world to know I had wrote it! I loved that song so much, Reese really did it justice!

You've been very consistent in releasing new music for your upcoming album "GOLD". What can you tell us about the new album?

The day I started writing GOLD, I knew I was making something special. It's such a good album, in sound and in meaning. I really put my soul into this project, I know for a fact people will love it. It's coming out on August 9th and I have so much lined up for it.

You released two official singles from GOLD with "Now You See Me" and "Stay Away From The Water", but which one do you enjoy better?

I love them both for different reasons, they're great! Although, I do prefer most of the album tracks over the singles released. The best is yet to come!

How is GOLD different from your previous solo material, and even from the material you have done as Rum & Coke?

Obviously, it's a lot more personal than anything I've ever done. I think it also has a darker sound than people might be used to from my music. Really, it's a whole new direction for me in it's entirety...I think people will be surprised.

You were recently criticized for the high prices of your album release party tickets, how do you respond to the people upset with the high ticket prices?

I mean, you can't get mad at something you weren't going to be able to afford anyway. The people who can buy the tickets are buying them...I really don't see the problem.

You also plan on going on tour this year correct? What can fans expect from that?

I really can't say too much, I really don't want to spoil anything! But SOON! I'm going to start revealing more details very soon!

I'm sure many fans are wondering, can we expect some new music from Rum & Coke any time soon?

I don't think so. These last 2 years we've been focusing a lot more on our solo efforts, we haven't really even recorded any Rum & Coke music. Hopefully we can change that!

Any last words for anyone reading this very interview on PICTUREPERFECT? Any news you can drop right now, exclusively?

I really hope to see everyone at my album release party! I've got some really big surprises lined up, including guest performances from some of my favorite artists! Tisha Jackson, Joshua Grimmie, Austin Nimmo, Chaelin..ugh I just can't wait!

It was a pleasure speaking with you Coke, best of luck with the new album and your future!

SZ

SZ are an American pop/dance pop duo consisting of twin brothers Aaron and Jason Sanchez.

Accumulated over 6 million views on Youtube as unsigned artists

Why they are buzz-worthy?
SZ's name has been floating around the industry for months now. Despite not having a record label at the time, the duo easily gained a cult social media following after posting videos on Vine. Their social media presence gained enough of a buzz that they landed a story on Culture Uncut, but soon took a short break to finish their studies. They re-appeared as newly signed artists and dropped their hot new single "Tell Me" in the summer of 2017, picking up right where they left off. They are set to release an album.

Why you need to pay attention:
With Anniken Dahl-Smith, Layla Sanchez and Austin Nimmo as their supporters, there's no doubt that SZ have the backing power and potential to be forces in the industry. With a social media following and a reputation for being entertaining, it's clear SZ are set to do big things.

Martin Skye bursted onto the scene last year after being signed to Wynter Honor's modeling agency and has gone on to achieve great things in a short amount of time, including a FCA nomination and going on tour Joshua Grimmie. Multi-talented, Martin Skye is already gaining a huge following due to his dreamy look and appearance, but do not be fooled, he has the talent to back him up. He released his debut single "I Wanna Famous" this summer and is set to release his EP "Skye's The Limit".

Why you need to pay attention:
FREEDOM's Nevaeh Martinez, Permanent Reminder's Candice Cortez and Cardinal Record's Benjamin Lancaster had a signing war for the up and comer, and at just 16 it's clear Martin is tipped for future success and could very well be the next big thing.

Back around for the next installment of UNBECOMINGS! Shoot!

• Coke releases her highly anticipated album "GOLD", and it was met with critical acclaim. A letter to fans unviled shortly after the album release was met with a heartwarming amount of support

• Drew Westbrook and Deneil have finally unveiled themselves to be in a relationship.

• Coke's expensive album release party was packed to capacity and included performances from Austin Nimmo, Joshua Grimmie, Tisha Jackson and the woman of the year herself, Coke!

• It's rumored that Austin Nimmo is taking an hiatus from music following death threats and general exhaustion. This has not been confirmed, but Austin has remained undercover.

• Joshua Grimmie's nudes were uploaded onto the internet prompting #OhNoJoshua to trend.

• Rum's "Try Forgiveness" still hasn't been released, Rum must get the ball rolling as soon as possible. A new single must come, now.

• Eilidh's "Head In The Clouds" reached #3 on the Chart Heat albums chart. We could use a new single now.

• Hayden released a heartbreaking letter in response to the tragic death of Hannah Beth. Hayden was met with a worldwide amount of support.

• Dirty Mouth Inc. kicked off their first show at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California with Roxy Hunter, Ruby Bryson, Megan Tavaria, Daria Rose, Noella Martinez, Lily Yeun, Cassie Summers, Karoliena Summers, Cara Zayn and the headlining performer Aikya Balan! We suggest you get tickets to catch a show. We are hearing it's a show to catch!

• Riot! In The Boulevard unveiled another track from their upcoming album. This one is called "Fireworks Over Vegas".

• Joshua Grimmie announces that he has has a new album on the way entitled "GoldenHeart"

• Mariko released her self titled first album off DahlHouse entertainment. It's good to see Mariko sticking to her guns and releasing a record that doesn't sound like anyone else.

• James Urie released his 5th studio album, "LIBERTY?" and is lyrically James's best album to date.

• Joshua Grimmie's drummer Steve finally spoke out about life following FCA, and things aren't sweet between the two.

• Payton unveils his anticipated album, "Payton Season" and began streaming tracks from the album. It's turning out better than we expected.

• Payton releases "All Ah Dat" from the album as well. Too bad we can't really understand him on the song.

• Joshua Grimmie has begun selling T-Shirts with some interesting phrases.

• Cristina Lake announced her new album "Desperate Days & Nervous Nights". We like the title.

• The 48 verses of St. Elvis Of Tupelo was finally finalized and released. Kudos.

• Johnny Carter announced that he is releasing a new single off of "Honest". It's long over due and the single needs to come as soon as possible.

• Payton has the number one song on Airplay with "Anarchy", and Misu has the number one song on Digital Songs with "Fade Away".

• James Urie releases "Kill You With Kindness", the same track that caused an uproar over social media after allegations of digs at ex wife, Gemma.

• Medina released an artwork for what is a new single or album, entitled "Clover". It's just about time for an album announcement.

• Andrea and fans are continually causing uproars on social media over the constant pushbacks of "Southern Belle". However, it looks as if Andrea is going against the grain and making moves. She leaked a great track entitled "Billions" on soundcloud.

• Cristina Lake and Payton are said to be releasing albums on the same day. The two very different fanbases are already starting to collide. Fans of Payton are mostly vocal, however.

• Reuben Rodriguez is set to be releasing a new single soon.

• Kidd Amaze has released the next installment of what looks to be a great upcoming album in "Sides Of Growth".

THE GOOD:
• The thudding, roaring production values will make almost anyone pay attention. It's commanding and intimidating, in a good way.

• Lotus's delivery is above average. The grit in her rapping style fits perfectly with the huge production values.

• Stephanie's Fierce's "How do you get that back" line coming in over a tribal beat sounds both experimental and proclaiming. It simply prepares you for what's about to come.

• The lyrical content is both witty, boastful and downright serious. Lotus lets it be known with her delivery that she's not here to play games.

Ain't no magic, bitch, this is what manifests when you put your soul in
I love being the only bitch who can put her money where her pie hole is
You birds got jokes, you birds gotta be trolling
You birds out here spewing more hocus pocus than the POTUS
You stall with all this talk because you can't pull up on Lotus

THE BAD:
• Adding Stephanie Fierce wasn't a bad idea, but no more Lotus/Stephanie Fierce collaborations for a while after this one, please.

• The record is one dimensional.

THE VERDICT:
•BUY THIS! "Mudpie" is a ferocious rap record that has Lotus coming in swinging with her eyes closed, at anyone in the path way. Filled with metaphors and catch lines, Lotus recovers after Venus Fly Trap failed to appeal the masses. Lotus and Miami are at the top of the crop of female rap and the two seem to be trading blows at eachother with each release. Whether or not there is some tension in the air, both are pulling out strong efforts to one up each-other. On the album, we would like to see if Lotus will be slightly more introspective or will the album be full of boasting and explicit content in one dimension. Time will tell.

THE GOOD:
• Riot! In the Boulevard returning to their pop-punk elements on the track.

• Amy Meyers soaring vocal performance. Meyer is an wondrous but underrated vocalist. One of the strongest in the business.

• The instrumental arrangements work very well around the record and Amy's vocals.

• The lyrics are truthful and diary like, although simple, the descriptive wordplay is enjoyable.

“Cut me skin deep and you will see/That my blood runs neon colours/It's more than dark red to me.”

THE BAD:
• The song is too short and seems undone, or rushed.

• A bridge would have been nice.

THE VERDICT:
SUPPORT THIS! Riot! In the Boulevard are true veterans in this business and commands respect from all their counterparts. It's nice to see Riot! Still pushing on when rock music is becoming so overlooked. Luckily, with the likes of Riot! In the Boulevard, James Urie and Mariko, rock music is still here and well. "Fireworks Over Vegas" is classic Riot! In The Boulevard and it's nice to see them getting back to basics. Amy Meyer's voice is wonderful. Let's hope the next single seems more thorough and doesn't come across as rushed or undone.

THE GOOD:

• The silky, atmospheric production is both edgy and soft at once.

• The lyrics create a deepness and emotional imagery. It's lyrical content has depth and context.

• The chorus is big and enjoyable, Joshua has vocals of bringing any chorus alive.

• Eilidh's appearance is both surprising and interesting. Her vocal range mixes perfect with the laid back production, giving her voice a chance to shine.

• The final choruses where the two join forces makes the chorus sound triumphant and "finale" like. Eilidh's adlibs soar.

THE BAD:

• A new Joshua Grimmie single wasn't exactly necessary for right now.

• Back to back releases causing Joshua Grimmie to run the risk of over-saturation.

THE VERDICT:

BUY THIS! Joshua Grimmie releases yet another song off his platinum selling album "PorcelainHeart", this time with the help of Eilidh. The two join forces for a silky triumphant heart-pulling love track where they both compliment each-other vocally and lyrically. The record has context and depth and should be a mainstay on radio. On the other hand, Joshua Grimmie has released three singles and an album all in the span of 5 months. Compiled with a consistent social media presence, tabloids stories, and scandals, plus announcements of new album pre-order, Joshua Grimmie is starting to become dangerously overexposed. Hopefully Joshua spaces out his releases or gives time for people to simmer down from him so we don't feel like we are being force-fed Joshua Grimmie and grow tired of him, all before a second or third album.

THE GOOD:
• James Urie's proclaiming vocal over the records production values

• The instrument arrangements in the beginning of the track sounds both suspenseful and interesting

• The alternative rock, trip-hop concoction is an interesting and clever direction for James Urie to go in.

• The roaring guitar chords following the chorus support James Urie's vocal runs gives the track a catchy vibe.

• James Urie's complex lyrical contents make you want to listen to the lyrics over and over and un-piece them, line for line.

THE BAD:

• Releasing the single after controversy surrounding the exact same song seemed like a desperate attempt for publicity and attention.

• There were other songs on "LIBERTY?" that would have served as a better single.

THE VERDICT:

BUY THIS! It's crazy that James Urie has managed to release five albums. At one point if some remember, James Urie was just a back up singer in now defunct band "The Walls" and "Less Than Infinity". He then spent years in the shadows of his older brother Matt Urie. Fast forward and James Urie has solidified himself as the top male rock artist in a pop induced music industry. Because of this, during his hiatus James Urie some what lost his footing as the "it" guy and has been climbing back up the ranks to get back to where he was back in 2013-14. Releasing this record following controversy surrounding the song seemed like a desperate marketing ploy for attention. James, people still know and love you. You don't need to release controversial songs for the sake of relevance. You are already relevant.

ooc:jesus the work this must have took.

i like the mariko and gretchen twitter icons. fits perfectly.

Mariko: wow...its worth paying someone to do all the other work involved in music release. this was probably the easiest release i ever did. mwah to all of dahlhouse.

Erica:i still dont believe nina t and my sister did anything other than maybe a passionate hand hold. i also miss the fight between james and gemma. it made for great twitter reads while drinking my afternoon tea.
