I just don't get baseball at all, so a game like that just is too much! I've got my Football Manager 11 to keep me going, I understand soccer tactics! I feel the exact opposite way because I can't wrap my head fully around FM. Hah. I've been playing Sports Interactive football management games for about as long as I've had a PC to play it on, about 12/13 years now. This! Always had a season of football manager on the go in some shape or form for the last 12 years. These days I spend so long tweaking tactics and training schedules that I barely play any matches I'm the type of guy who never tweaks strategies but still screams at the screen when BRAZIL LOSES AGAINST FUCKING ETHIOPIA! I usually just keep it to console games nowadays, got Homefront and it's incredibly craptastic. Lol, I tweak and perfect so much that I won the Champions League as Celtic with the most defensive counter attacking formation ever seen. I also won the world cup as ivory coast in the same save, having been 2 - 0 down at half time to Italy in the final. My best FM game, probably ever, is the one I've had on FM11. I created a new database for a Scottish pyramid, 6 tiers, SPL & 1st Division national leagues but everything below that regional. I took charge of Invergordon in the 5th Div North. Took until the 5th season before I spent a single penny on players (my first transfer free was for a goalkeeper called Conor O'Donnell from West Calder Utd for £5,000, until then everyone was a freebee). It's now August 2025, our record signing was a lad called Bira for £2.6m from Flamengo. I've been at the club for 5524 days, gone from earning nothing (club was originally amateur) to a £4,700 a week deal. Played 622 games, won 321, drawn 148, lost 152, have brought 173 players, sold 59, released 173, spent £11m on players, & £1.3m on agent fees, & made £1.5m in player sales. We won the 5th Division, 4th Division, & 1st Division & last season we ended 2 points ahead of Rangers to win the SPL. There was only one year where we didn't finish higher up than the previous season, 2022/23, our second in the SPL. We came 10th in our debut season, 11th the next. We won the CIS Cup 3 times & the Challenge Cup once. We've gone from a 2,000 capacity stadium to a purpose built brand new 14,293 capacity all-seater stadium, our first game there is against Rangers in a week. But best of all, we've had 5 players called up to play for their country, Saudi Arabian Yousif Dabo, bought for £475k from Al-Shabab, he's a left back & only 23, been here for 5 years & he's earnt 24 caps. There's Stelios Stratis, midfield playmaker, 25, 2 Greece caps, signed for £50,000 from Dundee the same summer as Dabo, centreback Giancarlo Linares, 27, 1 cap for Peru, signed for free in 2021 & best of all for me. 2 Scots, my keeper John Bowman, 30 now, going into his 3rd season, signed on a Bosman from Queen of the South with 6 caps, & 20 year old defender Graeme Campbell, bought from St Mirren for £180k in 2023, 4 caps already. Literally the best game I've had in 13 years of CM/FM. |
