I will look at this as if they were both real so as not to upset anyone.
Honestly, they would never fight. They would help save the world together ala Superbestfriends.
If they were to fight though, Jesus does have that power of the almighty God behind him.... so if they are both real, Batman would lose. |

Well, then it means that Jesus is willing to die for the greater good/outcome. So if thats what it takes to rid the world of sin/Batman thats what he's going to do. |

Some guys nailed him to a piece of wood... You know they did that to petty criminals. Thousands of people went through that. Only Jesus knew he'd live on. So if anything, the petty criminals are better than Jesus. |

Tough call, very tough. Both put very good reasons forward to the table. I found the most interesting, the guy saying Jesus is real and Batman is fictional.. for some religions, and im guessing this guys, Jesus is too factional.
Although im a christian, that's a really interesting argument :P And because im in the 1% of the worlds population which hasn't seen the Dark Night.. ill lean toward Jesus.

I keep meaning to pick that up. I think part of the issue is that of the DC Universe, the only mainstream character I like is Batman. The Vertigo line of stuff is great, & I know Superman has appeared in Swamp Thing at the very least. But for the mainstream lines I've always felt that Marvel had more interesting characters. |

Oh there i agree.... but mainly because marvel has stan lee who is a master of flawed hero's.... Overall though i like the smaller and independent runs of things like maus |

I don't know, when Superman is done right he can be really great but he has a habit of being made too invincible and too...good. When done right though, him and Batman both pretty much kick everything else's ass. There is a reason that they are the two most known heroes and thankfully its not just because of exploitation. |

I just can't get into Superman because he's too wholesome & good. Like he's nearly invincible, without being an entertaining badass like Wolverine. Superman was like Captain America for me, he taps into all these wholesome American values that as a foreigner I don't really care about, but then Marvel did the Civil War, with Cap at least going up against the American government in belief of what was right. Now the Civil War may have been kinda crappy overall but that aspect of Steve Rogers made him infinitely more interesting to me.
But then my favourite comicbook character is Spider Jerusalem from Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis. I like shades of grey. The idea of doing right, especially when it involves fucking with authority. The way that Spider relentlessly harangues The Beast, President of the United States. Superman has always seemed more...servile. He has an inherent respect for authority where as the best characters (to me) question it relentlessly. |

Man, all this comic book talk. I grew up with comic books, but I'm talking about books of comic strips. Fucking Hägar the Horrible, and Peanuts and B.C. and Calvin & Hobbes. That's more my speed. That and European stuff like Asterix and Tintin. |
