Buzz & Hype are an electronic production duo, who are known on the underground for their many drum and bass or dubstep remixes of mainstream songs. Neither Buzz nor Hype do vocals on any of their tracks due to neither of them being able to sing, so they do regularly feature other artists on tracks. Real Name: Harry Piper

Harry Piper was born on the 3rd of August 1984, to parents Sally and Alfie Piper. He is the oldest of two children, having a younger brother called Greg. Harry lived in a small suburb near West Ham football club, and is an avid supporter of them, having had a season ticket since he was 7 years old. Both of his parents are estate agents and never seem to be short of work; even when the market is at a low.

Harry and Greg had quite a close brotherly relationship, which lead to them spending a lot of time with eachother. They both attended the West Ham Football Academy try outs for under 11's at the same time. Unfortunately Harry was not quite good enough to get in, whereas his brother was. So instead of playing football, his parents bought him a guitar and got him some lessons so he didnt feel so left out when his brother would go to football training.

He seemed to be quite an apt guitarist, passing every grading with ease and moving straight on to the next one. By the time he reached his third year of secondary school, he was one of the popular kids, as he was involved with a lot of the music events the school held and was also involved in the sports teams; gathering friends in different areas.

Harry became quite an apt musician and then started radio presenting, learning how to mix songs on the job. This lead to him getting a relatively good following, helping him to get his name out there. He would occasionally do some small DJing gigs around the city centre at night clubs. This lead to him becoming a well-known DJ in the area, helping his Radio show gain more listeners. As his show was quite well-known, it was used as a basis for getting local acts heard of. Harry helped a local MC - Rage - gather a small following in the local area. But he never really made it big.

On his brother's 17th birthday he was dropped from West Ham football academy; and so was Bret. This meant that Bret was coming around a lot more to see Greg as they didnt have football training and matches anymore. The two of them (Bret and Harry) got on relatively well, but never really spent a lot of time together.

It was on New Years Eve of 2005 that it happened; Greg and Bret had gone to a party in the City centre. There was a drunken brawl which ended up putting both Greg and Bret in hospital. Bret only had minor wounds and was able to go three days later; but Greg on the other hand had a broken spine and a shard of glass had gone through his eye; leaving him both paralysed and blind. He was relying on the machine to breath, so his parents took the choice to turn it off, allowing him to rest in peace. This brought Bret and Harry closer together; they spent a lot of time with eachother helping the other one get through this rough time.

Harry could see that Bret needed an escape from the pain and loss, and so did he - so he tought Harry how to use a turntable; which he picked up quite quickly. As it wasnt really much of a challegne to teach him, they decided to learn how to play the keyboard together. It wasnt particularly difficult and again wasnt much of a challenge,so Harry would spend a lot of his time on the radio, getting a couple of extra shows a week to help keep him occupied.

Harry's radio show was getting quite big locally, and he thought that he could really help Bret's DJing career by havbing him on a few times to do some live mixes - eventually the two of them teamed up to become a musical duo and Harry had a few of his to being him and Bret presenting. This did not last long though, as the radio station was shut down. This lead to them doing the underground club scene, and gradually working their way around London until they became a relatively well-known DJ duo.

Now, is where they really begin...

An EP?

Production duo Buzz and Hype have today announced that they are working on an EP which will be out on the 22nd of May. It is called the Buzzing/Hyped Up EP.

'Buzzing/Hyped Up' EP

This is the first official release from the up and coming production duo Buzz and Hype. It is entitled the Buzzing/Hyped Up EP because they wanted to use it as an introduction to their music. A new site will be posted 6 days before the release of the EP, for a track by track.

Description

The drums kick in instantly over the ballad-like chorus, which has an authentic sound to it. An almost buzzing sound starts to play over the last line to lead into the first part of the first verse.
As Cassie’s verse vocals kick in, the bass gets higher. The buzzing sound in the background sounds far more like an electric whistling sound now. The drums get faster as Mandy’s verse vocals approach too. The symbols crash at the switch over.
As the chorus approaches the baseline shoots straight through the roof, giving an effect of pain with the sudden change in the bass. The chorus arrives and several symbol crashes are heard. The whistling sound stops as a fuzzy sound comes over the chorus.
The second set of verses is much the same as the first except the song breaks down between the two Cassie sections. A massive drum solo is played which is believed to have been sampled from one of the big current rock bands; this ends just as the next part of the verse comes back in with the bass shooting back up again.
The final chorus is the same as the middle one. The music finishes and a final chorus is played through.
