So, "Brokenhearted". The fucking wonderful Nick and some random bitch nobody's heard of are going to be in on the B-side version, which will be the 'original' - it'll also be on my fourth album, but it'll be a different version to this, so kamikaze catch the first one while you can! Only available on the single and through your usual fucking pirate outlets. ;)

Lead vocals, bass : Kamikaze Kate
Drums, backing vocals : Nick
Guitar : Raven Storme
The song is written as sets of diary entries, sung in third person as 'Girl, 23', with instrumentals inbetween. Kate's voice is low and monotone, quite different to how she usually sings. 'Girl, 23' is going through a series of heart operations, and she sings about them, from the plain speaking at the beginning to the gory explanations in the middle, as if it's everyday stuff and she's not scared at all. "Mayhem, she laughed in the face of fear," says Kate. "She was a real fucking icon. Kamikaze-eee." At the end, 'Girl, 23' finally discusses death and what leaving her family and friends behind would mean. Nick screams incomprehensibly in the background, adding a feeling of more raw emotion. While the song began as Kate and her bass, the drums and guitar get gradually heavier, leading into a long drum solo and then a short guitar solo at the end.
Sounds a bit like -
We're recording this when Raven gets her arse back from America, which will be a while yet - the single'll be released on 4th July 2011. Make sure you get your copy, fuckaaahs!
