Aaron Marks
Essex based acoustic pop artist takes social networks by storm.

“Since I started writing music when I was 14 years old I’ve always wanted to write songs that have an optimistic view” smiles the 19 year old multi-instrumentalist Aaron Marks. “I’ve never wanted to sound like a cliché ‘oh I’ve broken up with my girlfriend, time to base every song on the thing that no-one cares about’, I’d rather focus on the positive side of life, and just enjoying what I do.”

This has been evident from the early demos and live recordings of his progression through the underground music scene, which taught him to “appreciate every chance that you can get”, with it being pure luck that he was discovered by a management team and eventually being signed by Halcyon Days Records.

“The main reasons I was discovered by my management team was due to my brother (Kieran Marks, former The Verdict Is Vengeance vocalist), and the more important factor social networking websites. I used Twitter, Myspace and Tumblr as my method of publishing my demo tracks, and then having them spread like mental. It’s weird looking back at the methods that I used, but it worked.”

Mixing acoustic chords, with hip-hop drum beats and a variety of other abnormal instruments, Aaron claims that his EP that is being recorded now (and due for release late this month) will be “different from anything that is currently in the music scene”, comparing himself to artists like ‘City & Colour, ‘Ed Sheeran’, ‘NeverShoutNever!’ and ‘The Drums’, it’s a different mix for sure, and I’m sure fans are eagerly anticipating the release of his yet to be titled EP.

OOC: I'm gradually easing Aaron into the music scene, right now I'd class him as an artist who is just breaking into the mainstream music scene and am hoping to make it appear like this when his EP is released in a week or so.

Aaron: Thank you! I didn't think that I looked like a pimp, but yakno', thanks! Get a tattoo then, I've got loads and I still want more. You'll only have to wait a little longer for the EP, and if you love it more than I'm guessing you love Jack Daniels then the EP would have been better than I could hope.

Aaron: Thanks! I don't have much but my style, so I've tried to perfect it. I guessed that she was saying she liked by tattoos and was looking forward to my EP haha!

Gia: Yeah let's assume thats what she meant. :) lol

I should have a track from the EP up by the end of the week if everything goes planned. My family weren't that happy with me when I came home with mine, but they've got used to the idea of me getting tattooed now. It sucks that you can't have one though, maybe in the future!



Nice to meet you too Cassie. I don't, but thank you for saying so. I don't smoke very often, I'm more of a social smoker than anything at the moment, but I will stop. I hope you enjoy my music when you eventually hear it.
