Abie Lena went to Kiss FM this afternoon to talk about future plans with Ryan Secret, she made a short appearance at the radio, and talked about future album, tour and her impressions from the recent success she has been doing.
Before the interview start the radio played "That Cold Night (Live)".
RS: That was the live version of “That Cold Night” from Abie Lena, who’s with us at the studio right now! How are you Abie?
Abie: Fine thanks.
RS: Guys you should stay near this woman, she smells so good! LOL
Abie: LOL, I love flower fragrances.
RS: This song “That cold night” is the live performance you made at the Field Trip Festival, how was the feeling of performing for over one hundred thousand people for the very first time?
Abie: I was terrified, seriously, I was shaking, I thought I would miss the lyrics, I thought all the negative stuffs that could happen in a show in that moment.
RS: But you did very well, so well that you got a contract with Studio60 one week after the festival. How does it sound?
Abie: Amazing, I mean, my manager send the tape of my performance for three record labels and Studio60 offered me a two album deal, so it was fantastic, that someone cared about my talent.
RS: Then you decided to release the song?
Abie: Actually we had this live audio recorded from the festival, but the idea of giving away this song was from the label, they started saying that the performance was watched by over 30 million people at YouTube, with this argument they convinced me to release this audio as a free track single.
RS: The song debuted at number 14 in the airplay charts.
Abie: Yeah, it’s amazing! I never thought it would manage to reach the top 20, and it did! My manager called me yesterday to give the news, and I was like, OMG, I have fans.. LOL
RS: Yes you do have, and they want to know what is going on with you, are you planning an album? Maybe a new single?
Abie: Yes, I’m planning to release an album this year, and of course some singles, everything is going great, I have 15 tracks written, that I’m about to show to my record label next week, and we are going to decide everything, such as recording sections, release dates, promotion, I’m very excited right now!
RS: Can you tell how this album will sound?
Abie: I’m a very romantic person, basically lyrics are about lovers I had in my life, all of that full of good jazz melodies, with soul, R&B influences.
RS: Is there any producer you are going to work with?
Abie: so far, I have some names, but first I ‘m gonna have to talk with the label in whether it’s possible or not!
RS: so we can wait a great album from you this year, what about a tour?
Abie: A tour will be planned too, but I have to say I still fear the stage! We have some festivals to perform already… but you know a tour is demanded!
RS: Thank you very much! It was short but very joyful, you’re such a nice lady!
Abie: Thank you, and thanks for playing my song!
RS: It’s a pleasure!
