Release Date: June 19, 2011 Genre: New Wave, Dance Elements Of: Disco, Electronic Rock, Pop Producers: Danny Allen, The Wolverines Recorded: 2011 Label: Monk On Fire Music, Shooting Star Records Writers: Brittany Knox, Danny Allen As Summer 2011 rolls on in, many acts have been attacking the industry with single and album releases. Artists like Glamazon, Alicia Lena, Stephanie Fierce are among the top female figures for the year of 2011 so far. So where does that leave Brittany Knox? After her platinum selling E.P Halfway There soured to the number two spot on the Chart Heat Album's chart as well as shoveling out a #1 and #2 hit , the dust cleared and Brittany Knox announced that she would start recording an album after a short break from the industry. As the months went on, we did not hear much from Knoxville until 5 months ago in January when she announced recording for her new album had begun.
Within these 5 months Brittany Knox has become one of the most anticipated acts of 2011, announcing collaborations with Jason Smith who she has never worked with before, Danny Allen, Jake Wilson and an onslaught of musical figures who contributed to the albums recording and in time Brittany has become one of the biggest trending artists in recent times and have been co signed by almost every artist asked about. So where does that leave Brittany? Brittany is really certifying her spot as a pop icon with her new single, and album slated for a summer 2011 release.
Desert Paradise is the leading single off of Brittany Knox' forthcoming, and highly anticipated album. The song is a concoction of New Wave and Dance that will most likely make people feel positive after hearing it. Lets face it, Brittany is on top right now, shes happy. She's a huge name in music, she's in love, and most importantly she's inspired and she quickly shows us just how innovative she can be as an artist listening to her new song.
The song itself has a very triumphant, uplifting vibe to it and features the electric guitar, keyboards, synths and has an 80's feel to it with a fleck of a disco edge in it, making the new wave and dance come out to be a masterpiece.
The verses run smoothly and loudly as Brittany sings with heavy confidence about escaping to a Desert with no one but herself, her lover, and her favorite guitar, as they enjoy a "paradise" away from the media, the fame, the fortune as they go throughout the town enjoying each others company away from any type of scrutiny making the song relatable to not only different artists looking to get away from all the media, but any person feeling under pressure, and is wishing to get away from everything. They could relate to going to this "desert paradise" Brittany sings of in this song.
The chorus is probably the best part of the song because it is simply unexpected and it creeps up on you. Brittany's voice, fresh and clean blasts out onto the chorus sort of catching the listener off guard as their ears are greeted with Brittany's beautiful vocals, guitar chords handed by Brandon Caulfield, and synths and would easily get caught in your head after listening to it for the first time as Brittany's voice sounds better on this song than any of her previous releases as she belts out in a c5 vocal range.
What we like about the song is that not only can it be a major hit on the dance floor with its electronic edge, the song can also be taken on a more serious stand point being relatable with virtually anyone.
If you feel alone who feels alone and your looking to feel uplifted by the end of a song, Desert Paradise is the song to listen to. This isn't a song about dancing on a dance floor, nor or falling in love.. but something more special.. something worth a listen.
Brittany is clearly inspired an confident through the strength in her voice and you could tell shes at a new high, she's hungry and she's aiming for the top. Brittany certifies her spot with her latest release out THIS SUNDAY... everyone run for cover.
Song could be compared to (with more of a speck of a rock edge to it)
