Today is a big day. The Band's Second Album has officially earned Platnum certification in the UK. This is a first for The Band. Give your congratulations please.

The Band have been declared the best rock band of the decade by the GRAMMY Awards(who knew they did "best of decade lists") despite having only made two albums. They were also named the best alt. rock band in the world today. FEEL IT!!!!!!!!! John might use the award as a door stop if Kim doesn't figure out how to use it as a bong.

No, not Infinite, you funny bunny. The Band of course. Montagues and Capulets will be released as the third single from The Band's Second Album. The single will include a live version of the song and the following scrumptious B-side.

The Noise-Written by John York-5:38-The song opens with tuning sounds, and John and Ian's voices. The song then begins with acoustic guitar from John, and bass and drums. Light, playful strings enter midway through the instrumental opening. Ian sings lead on this song. He sings the first verse very softly, in almost a whisper. The strings re-enter as the song builds up to the chorus. A full orchestra enters for the hook, as well as several electric guitar parts, giving the chorus a textured sound. Ian sings in a nice falsetta, but bellows certain lines. A brief instrumental follows the first chorus. At first it is just the numerous guitars, but they are soon drowned out by strings. A second verse features strings throughout, and light electric guitars with a faint new wave sound. The chorus is then repeated in a similaar fashion. The song concludes with an extended instrumental. Jazz howns enter over the rest of the song, before a melodramatic string section re-enters and takes over. The stripped down first verse is played again at the conclusion, but this time with no vocals. Then, John plays a limp electric guitar solo, with extensive echo affects. The final ten seconds of the song feature just a synth sound that sounds a bit like wind in a windtunnel. The lyrics of the song describe some of the pitfalls of central planning. John considered this one of the best songs he had ever written, but found it overproduced(Greenwood did not produce this track) so it did not make the album.

Okay, it was the Band that has a new single. I was about to say... I didn't think I authorized a new release by my band. But, in all seriousness; great song, guys. Mixing orchestra's with guitar solos is always fucking radical. You know that a band is talented when their B-Side is every bit as good as an album track.

-Eric Quillington

OOC: I think it's funny that Infinite won 'Best Rap/Metal Band' at that awards show. Guess they're more like Limp Bizkit than Radiohead, sadly.
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

Montagues and Capulets has topped the US Modern Rock charts. This is a first for The Band. They had come close before, with their past two singles peaking at no. 2. It is at no. 11 on the Billboard charts. Let's get it in the top ten, guys. The song is also recieving a fair amount of play on BBC radio, who have apparently forgiven them for their past media controversies.

Moderator-Is The Band on here yet
TheBand-Probably not
Moderator-Say hello to everyone
TheBand-Hello to everyone
Moderator-Who is this?
TheBand-This is John typing. The rest are standing here behind me me
Yorkie-York-Hello. Can you guys help me out?
TheBand-I doubt it
AussieFan-Will you guys be coming to Austrailia sometime?
TheBand-When more of you guys buy our records to justify the expense of getting there. Tell your friends.
Band-Aid-So what was with John when you guys went on "Let's Find Another Pop Star"?
TheBand-John made an ass of himself
TheBand-That was Kim
Trickster-What's your favorite song?
TheBand-That I've written or just of all time? I'll do both. The best song we've ever recorded is the new Jeopardy! theme. The best song of all time is Royal Wedding, which was actually written by one of the surviving memebers of The Ramones, but he thought it was so shitty he let us use it.
Moderator-Way to give a straight answer. Will there be another single coming out soon?
TheBand-Not from The Band's Second Album. We've recorded a new song that might be on a movie soundtrack, and it could be as a single late July/Early August
BritishGirl-What's your favorite thing about England?
TheBand-Probably the food, despite everyone hating it. And your private parts of course. You should come to one of our shows. Have you already? If you are the owner of a dive bar, than your private parts actually are my favorite thing about England
Trickster-I have a band name, can you guys think of an actual band for me?
TheBand-You, Jimmie Page, Kim Gordon, and Ian on the drums
JustaMessageBoardPoster-What's the deal with you and Amy Meyer
TheBand-Everyone knows about that, I don't need to talk about it here
Trickster-What were you guys like in High School
TheBand-Well, for Kim it was such a short time ago that she was pretty much the same as sheis now. For Edmund it was so long ago he can't remember. Ian was probably a dufus and I was the witty smart kid that kept to himself.
Trickster-Out of Maria Sharapova, Marisa Miller and your own Kimmie, who would you have a threesome with
TheBand-Probably the two I've already had sex with
Trickster-Seriously?
TheBand-Maybe not
Trickster-Which ones?
TheBand-I'll never tell
Moderator-After a quick google search I've discovered that they've both been spotted at you guys's shows
TheBand-That means there's a 42 percent chance I'm telling the truth, and a 100 percent chance I'm trying to confuse you.
TMNT-If you had a shotgun with one bullet, how would you use it?
TheBand-On my computer screen right now
mongoloid-So, of the three who was the best?
TheBand-Anyone can answer this. Kimmie would be the best because she is the biggest dynamo in the world. Maria Sharapova is an athlete and would do quite well. Marisa Miller is a model and would thus be a bit lazy.
BeautifulCharlotte-Why are you a English band (dumbest question of the day)
TheBand-Because our parents all got funky together on this lovely island
Trickster-What do you call three lepers in a hot tub?
TheBand-One of our after parties
Trickster-Bada
TheBand-Boom
TheBand-yes
Trickster-YES!
tosser-So, what's the deal with you being estranged from your mom?
TheBand-^If you were trying to cross the line, why didn't you just post a link to child porn?
fake_Username-What mark do you want to leave on rock music?
TheBand-My face, glasses and all.
TheBand-John is going to be at the Union Jack in his hometown this evening, if you want an autograph come on down.

More still to come

TheBand-Kim is now mistress of the keyboard
Moderator-HERE'S KIMMIE
TheBand-I will only tolerate John calling me by that name
Halfie-So, if I show up at one of your gigs would you sleep with me?
TheBand-I'm not going to commit to that. I have to see what you look like. :)
trickster-Who's the girl in The Band with the red hair and freckles who always wears the plai skirts?
TheBand-Me!!!!!
trickster-Ohhh, then I will be your rock whore
TheBand-Internet whore. Keep talking about my sister like that and I'm thinking of what to say I'll do :) Ian has commendeared the keyboard
Islander1-Where did you guys get those terrible plaid shirts at that one gig?
TheBand-John got them. He says that they were just white Tommy Bahama shirts that he threw up on.
Band-Aid-We all love you in a special way Ian, just like John.
zetman-Who could've ever bore two kids as badass as you and Kim?
TheBand-We are the spawn of Paul Mccartney and Axl Rose
Zetman-Where can I write you guys?
TheBand-Our adress is located on all offiial releases
TheBand-Here's John again
TheBand-A few unoffical releases have our adress, which creeps me out quite a bit.
TheBand-not really, I hope
RockMan-What do you guys think of Infinite?
TheBand-They're the biggest band in the world right now. Pretty good, although they need to make sure they continue to challenge themselves
AKnight-Getting any lately John?
TheBand-The only women who come up to me are weird hipster chicks and lonely schoolgirls, and maybe a few exceptions, but whatever
Ownage-Why doesn't MTV play your videos?
TheBand-Does MTV play anyone's videos?
Ownage-Mtv sucks
TheBand-Being that our fanbase is comprised of mostly college and 20 something women, I'm a bit surprised that this chat has mostly been teenage boys interested in my love life. But this is the internet, why am I surprised.
TheBand-I must go. All apologies
Moderator-Ta-ta
TheBand-Yep, this was fun. I might do something like this again if I'm out of money.

Hayden: If teenage boys are interested in your love life, I don't think that would be a compliment. Well unless they just wanted to know about Kim.

The Band have been commissioned to perform the theme song for a new espionage themed film being released this Summer. The song is called "Property of a Lady" and will be released as a single this Wednesday. Both Kim and John make brief appearances in the film, with Kim having a seductive cameo and John playing one of the film's villians.

Property of a Lady-Music by John York, lyrics by Kim Black-3:12-The song opens with a sudden blast of guitar noise, synths, and loud horns. It moves into a calmer first verse. Kim switches back and forth between lower tones where her accent is clear, and high pitched purrs. The opening verse is driven by a post-punk groove and a playfull electric guitar riff. Kim sings in an even tone on the chorus and the bass becomes more dominant. Horns and strings also enter. The chorus ends with a few blasts of garage rock noise. Horns are present for the entirety of the second verse and strings enter during the build-up to the chorus. The last chorus' are repeated twice. On the final chorus, the strings pick up, making them sound like a suspensefull film score. Kim's vocals change to high pitched screams that sound semi-improvisised, and Edmund and Ian come in on backing vocals before the song abruptly cuts off.

The Band has recieved 3 nominations at the Chaos awards this year, including "best band." Kim has also been nommed for yet another hotness award, and John was nominated for "best personality" whatever that means. Is it good if he wins?
