That’s How You Want It? Feat. Monte Carlos & Jay-C
Background Information
That’s how you want it is an up-tempo. The song is basically about professing your love to that special person in your life. Monte Carlos and Jay-C’s verse and vocals give the track an harder edge.
“This is one of the last tracks that we recorded for the album. I had still felt that there wasn’t a song or a beat that had that in your face vibe. So one night my team and I were in the studio and I just came up with this clap like, applauding hard beat. Then I started humming the chorus. And about two or three hours later we had the track completed.”
The Point of The Matter
Background Information
This track sounds very late 80’s and its aggressive, hard, and in your face at the same time. The track incorporates R&B, Rock, Hip-Hop, with an ounce of Pop at the same time. With all of that incorporated into one track you can get a feel of a new jack swing in the track. The track is about a woman aggressively denouncing a relationship with her boyfriend because he won’t get the picture. It’s about breaking free from a controlling relationship and being bold enough to say “It’s over”, and it has a sort of emancipation/liberated feel to it.
“This again was one of the last songs recorded on the album, and I wrote and produced it alone. I wanted the track to have a perfect mixture of R&B/Hip-Hop/Rock/and Pop. I didn’t think it was possible to infuse all of those elements together. But when I missed them together, It resulted in a 90’s “New Jack Swing” feel to it. But you can also feel a bit of late 80’s in it as well. But I think of this track as a great emancipated breaking up song, It’s like your happy that the relationship is over and your entering a new chapter in your life.
Tears & Fears
Background Information
One of the most emotional songs on this album, this track is a very big ballad where Tisha broadcast her sultry vocals. The song tells a story of a girl in an abusive relationship. She constantly puts up with the physical, verbal, and mental abuse. By doing this she feels she is losing power and becoming weaker. Sick and disgusted with her situation and how her life has changed she finally gains the courage to put an end to the abuse. The song is very uplifting and inspirational, and is a very informative track on how to leave an abusive relationship.
“ I absolutely love this song. GirlSpice and myself wrote and produced the track. It is a really big ballad but it still manages to be sensitive to the topic of domestic violence. The track is only 4 minutes and a couple of seconds long, but it still manages to tell a story from beginning to end. That’s why I love it so much. It has a rawness and so much emotion in it. I know it will become a fan favorite. And it already is one of my favorite ballads I recorded.
Love on Repeat
Background Information
The track is an up-tempo track. The track is a combination of Pop and R&B. It talks about women, and how they have so much to offer to a man. The track isn’t a female empowerment song but it’s about how many ways a woman could love a man. The track is like a “love adventure” addressing the highs and lows of love. But no matter how high or low you get in the relationship you would NEVER fall out of love or lose love with that person.
“I love this track! It is one of my favorite songs GirlSpice has ever produced for me. I think with this song you can see how well we work together. When you put us together it’s just genius.
History Feat. GirlSpice & Stephanie Fierce
Background Information
One of the biggest hits off the album by far. “History” is the second single off the “Reveal” album, about to reach platinum status. The song is really an empowerment song for women and men. Track is about achieving success and reaching for the stars. In the track each of the ladies talk about their success and how hard it was to get where they are in life today. They also talks about all of their struggles and it encourages people to do something in life to their greatest ability.
“I knew when we were doing this song it was going to be big. GirlSpice came to me and said we have this track for you. I listened to it and I was like I love it. And once we began to write it I immediately recorded it. We were having so much fun in the studio and they said to me “We want to get on the track”. “And I hadn’t done a song with them in a long time, so I hopped on board and said, “Of course”. Then even with all of us on the track together, I still felt it was missing something. That’s when I asked Stephanie to join, and it took her sometime to agree but in the end she recorded her vocals. And we have a hit! But more importantly we are encouraging the youth to get up and do something great with their lives.
Intimacy
Background Information
One of the most smooth and suave tracks on the album. Tisha explores her experience of being intimate. The track is a mid-tempo R&B track. It is the upcoming third single to be released off the album. Tisha describes sensations of making love from the beginning (taking it slow), the middle (going with the flow), all the way to the climax. “This track is so smooth and slick that it’s crazy. I love how laid back the track is. It’s like a mid-tempo on the verge of becoming a up-tempo. I love how we wrote the song, but we didn’t write it to be straight to the point. We wanted it to be slick and sexy. Its indeed one of my favorite songs I recorded. And I am so happy that this is my next single off the album.
20 Different Languages
Background Information
This is the most different track that Tisha has ever released. The track is about ending a relationship. But the guy doesn’t seem to understand that its over. So Tisha explains to him in alternative way that the relationship is finished by singing it to him in 20 different languages. Languages used in this track vary all the way from Arabic, to british, to Hebrew.
“This song is the only full blown out pop song on the album. I have a feeling that this song is going to become a breakup anthem. I wrote and produced it myself. Even though I am speaking and singing in many different languages it is still easy to understand. It’s just me basically saying, Goodbye, I never want to see you again in a different language. This is one of my most unique songs I feel personally.
Living The Life (Superstar) Feat. The Bards, Miss Vanity, Matty, Christina Lake, & Ugenia
Background Information
This track has a big Hip-Hop/Pop vibe to it. The beat is very massive and heavy on your ears. It’s about living a life like a superstar. It’s nothing cocky about the track it’s just about each artist loving their life. And many people talk bad about the industry but this tracks is an alternative; rather focusing on the few good things the industry can offer.
“This track is the sh*t! Haha! That’s all I have to say about it! I just love this track so much. It took us so long to get the track together. I started the origin of this song in November of last year in the midst of recording the album. And it took us from then to now to get everyone on the track. It was one of those things that I made for sure was going to happen. I was positive I was going to have my way and get everyone I wanted on the album. I hope this is a single. And if it is one then the video is going to be very grueling but magnificent. I just wanted to put a track together with some of my favorite artist out there that I feel really mean something and are special to music.
Silk Sheets (Rose Petals)
Background Information
This track is very sensual and sultry. It’s what many call “baby making music.” The track is about two people not having sex, not “bumping and grinding”, but making LOVE. The song is about two people in LOVE expressing their love for each other in a special way. The beat is straight R&B. Tisha vocals on the track are really sultry.
“I wrote and produced the track and it took me a while to get the track put together. This track is something that I can’t wait to perform on the tour that we’re currently planning. It’s so sultry. With this song it’s not really the lyrics that get you into the song and in the mood, but it’s the beat that gets you into it.
Curtain Call
Background Information
The track has a real Soul/R&B feel to it. The beat is like the 60’s and 70’s meet 2011. The track is kind of old school but the lyrics is what brings the new school to the track. The song is a very personal song and it includes dialogue between a woman and her boyfriend. It’s about a woman confronting her boyfriend about cheating and on her. It’s like she questions him about his wrongful actions and him not answering her directly. Tisha gives one of her best vocal performances on the album on this track.
“I love this song! I am just simply in love with it. It is so soulful. It’s like the 1970’s meet 2011. Think of Diana Ross & The Supremes, Mariah Carey, and Beyoncé recording mixed on a track together. The beat gets the best of the 70’s, 90’s, and this decade mixed together. I love it.
Autotune Me
The track was written and produced by GirlSpice and Tisha Jackson. The track is a fun track that pokes fun and bashes autotune.
The track blast artist who use autotune. The track is meant to be taken as a joke and nothing serious. It is supposed to be taken as a joke because Tisha is talking about artist who use autotune by synchronizing and autotuning her voice bashing them.
“This track is totally a joke! I just want to point that out because I didn’t want anyone thinking I was attacking them. It’s just me taking shots and joking on how hilarious and different pop culture of the 21st century has become. It’s kind of subliminal because I am using autotune to make fun of people who use autotune. It’s one of those funny things you just have to sulk on to understand the message of how we are all effected by pop culture in todays world.
Hazy September
Background Information
The track is a story about a relationship. It primarily tells the beginning of the relationship and how it eventually came to an end. The track is about a couple accidentally falling in love. But life just gets in the way of them and the relationship ends. It is described by Tisha as a very personal song to her and very personal.
“This track is greatly personal to me. I love how the track broadcast my vocals but is also full of adlibs and runs. The track has a very 90’s feel to it. It is kind of vintage hip-hop. The track is filled with 80’s Hip-Hop and it has a major laid back feel to it.BACK COVER OF REAVEAL TARGER DELUXE EDITION COVER OF REVEAL![UserPostedImage](http://i568.photobucket.com/albums/ss125/geminiizcute/Decorated%20images/rihanna-vogue-cover-shoot-2.jpg) Edited by user 21 June 2011 08:27:56(UTC)
