Best Band; Infinite

An alternative/experimental trio, Infinite are one of the most popular and acclaimed groups on the planet. However, look beneath the hullabaloo and you'll see an innovative group who have never made a habit of resting on their laurels. Each of their three albums are widely different and varied in sound, showing that the group has never been afraid to change and evolve from the very things that made them successful in the first place. Blue Nebula utilizes a very murky atmosphere of toned-down guitars and thundering bass-lines to create a simple, but effective, record with lyrics that focus on the various aspects of human thought, such as insanity and addiction. Midnight Skies is much more optimistic and dream-like in tone and lyrics, while the instrumentals are much more varied and experimental. Their most recent album, Insomnia abandons traditional song-structures, and instead utilizes an unpredictable and ever-changing soundscape.

Best Lyrics; Grinning like a Jackal

(Hasn't been released yet, but why not?)

"Peace and quiet, yet I’m so tired
In case I feel empty, there’s always another award to be won
It’s such an irritating prospect to sing about your own self
And it’s such a frightening prospect to sing about nothing

Relaxed vibes drift on soundlessly
If I ever need attention, then I’ll pretend I’m dissatisfied
Writing with a gold pen, I’m scared of sounding pretentious
When I can’t sing about the sky, I’m stuck singing about the ground

Turn on the bright lights, and no one’s going to think you’ll be all alone tonight
Three windows for one soul to look out, two hands to close the countless blinds
Just turn on the bright lights, and no one’s going to think you’re all alone in that little house"

Best Live Band; Infinite

Best Personality; Eric Quillington

A musical savant with awkward social skills, Mr. Quillington has always been a fascinating character. Being one of the most famous frontman in recent history has put a large amount of attention on him, and he has never been one to disappoint. One of his most recent infamous outbursts was during the last @Chaos Awards; after bombing as one of the many presenters for the show, he casually remarked to the shocked audience, "my jokes don't work, but then again, neither did Mr. Robert's condom'. These comments are fairly common for him; he is always blunt and truthful, to the point of sounding egotistical or arrogant. He is also blissfully unaware of how the world works, as music is the only thing he truly understands. Despite this, Quillington has strong ties with several members of the music industry; he has proclaimed Jason Smith to be his closest friend on numerous occasions, and is also dating Glamazon.

Click HERE for a good example of his personality.
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

Fathers of Fury
Best Band, Most Attractive Male (Jack Straw)
Fathers of Fury are on the verge of releasing their second album, Passionate, worldwide. They have been thought of as one of the big names in the Rock scene ever since their arrival in the later part of last year. Artists such as Eric Quillington of Infinite and Stacey Walton have been known to show interest in their work and the foursome have even worked with Stacey. Fathers of Fury have spent 3-4 months this year alone touring already, and intend to continue that trend towards the end of the year across America and the UK; they may even branch out to some other countries.

Buzz & Hype
Best Solo Artist, Best Newcomer, Best Single (Buzzing), Best Producers, Best Personality
The twosome, Buzz & Hype are considered a 'duo artist' so do not quite fit into either Best Band or Best Solo Artist, but they are closer to a solo artist than a band. The boys have quickly shot up the music scene recently, having just broke through from doing nightclub gigs most nights for the last six months or so. They are well known for being very good remix artist, having mixed several big hits for B-sides etc. They have only this last weekend (Sunday 19th) gained there first number one, but they skipped the 1 number one, having gained a chart hit on both the Top 20 Airplay Chart and the Top 20 Digital Download Chart. Single Buzzing has managed to amount around 800,000 Digital downloads over the past few weeks and went number one this weekend. Buzz & Hype have produced Giselle's Remix Album In The Mix, and are considered some of the best producers around. Not only are Buzz & Hype known for their music, but also for their crazy personalities; Buzz is known for being a bit of a drunk who will flirt with anything that moves, whereas Hype will try to stop Buzz from making a completely idiot out of himself whilst also provoking himself at the same time.

Sammy Griffin
Best Newcomer, Most Attractive Male, Best Live Artist, Best Gig
Sammy has only recently started to be noticed by a larger amount of people, but in this selection of people, artists such as Eric Quillington, Lily and label owner Gia have all stated their interest and liking of his music. Sammy's music is different to everything else out there as he not only sings, but he also raps - while playing guitar. He is quickly becoming a more and more popular artist around. Sammy Griffin is known to put on a good show when he performs, including the audience with several of the songs.
Here are two examples of why he is the Best Live Artist, and either of these could be considered for Best Gig:
Live at 'The Defectors Weld' - 11th June 2011
Live at 'The Barfly' - 18th June 2011 (w/ Aaron Marks)

Best Band - Reported Failure
UserPostedImage
When someone attempts to describe Reported Failure, they could throw in phrases like "An extremely talented band", "My ears just had an orgasm", "Genius", or "The best thing ever to happen to music", but none of those perfectly describe them, although they do a darn good job. The phrase that can describe Reported Failure is "Go big or go home". Whenever Reported Failure set out to do anything they go big with is and don't hold back. Although everything else is true about them, they would prefer to be recognized instead as the band that never holds back.
Best Lyrics - Manufactured Radio - Reported Failure
Lyrics - [Beckett/Collins/Peters]

You got soul
Hidden in this remote control
you turn it on (off on off on off on off)
you got style
With your skin tight jeans
And your angsty graphic t-shirt
you take it off (on off on off on off on)

So when you walk down the street, hope you know youre doin it for me
And that voice in the back of your head, that’s me
And your words, I wrote them for you
So you can be the radio

What happened… to anything
you swear it wasn’t like this just the other day
What happened to living?
And being something just so you could say
“I’ll go my own way”

You got beat
Through some digital screen
You turn it on (Off on off on off on off)
You got licks
Through your guitar picks
You stroke it up (down up down up down up down)

So when you breathe fuck or sleep I hope you know that youre doin it for me
Every note you’ve sang, that was me
And your words, I wrote them for you
So you can be the radio

What happened… to anything
you swear it wasn’t like this just the other day
What happened to living?
And being something just so you could say
“I’ll go my own way”

Though you try (try try try try try try)
You cant escape me
I am the mafia
I am the radio
I am Sirius top 40 hits
I am the radio
I am the radio
I am the fucking radio

What happened… to anything
you swear it wasn’t like this just the other day
What happened to living?
And being something just so you could say

Music
The song starts off with a steady beat, addicting bass lick, and ska type guitar chords while Vin plays a very calm riff on his guitar. The pre-chorus gets things going a little bit more as the drums get heavier and Vin switches to a different, heavier lick that will soon be attempted by amateur guitarists all over the world. The chorus gets loud as the band bust out the power chords. The second verse continues much like the first, but with subtle changes in Robert Edward's drumming. The pre-chorus and verse are similar to the first ones. Then things break down. Matt and Vin mimick each others riffs as Billie reverts back to the ska type chords seen in the beginning of the song while his vocals reach a height that fans have never heard before. The final chorus comes and goes. On the outro Robert beats the drums to their full metal potential as Vin blasts out a quick guitar solo that is sure to be an orgasm to any guitarists ears.

Songwriter's Analysis: This song is aimed at anyone who would seek to water down music. It is about not just someone who wants to come in and just make a few bucks and legidimately doesn't care about the music, but also the people making the music. Because through the years every artist has temptation to just sell out and do what you think will give you your 15 minutes of fame. No matter what genre of music you play, or even if you have any talent, that is a struggle that all musicians face.

Post-Grunge Catastrophe*
Lyrics – [Beckett/Collins/Peters]
Wake up and look at the sun
It'll be gone by the time this is done
We'll sit back and look at the stars
Until were one

Drive until this town's gone
Go somewhere where the lights are still on
Look back at the world that we knew
It's all gone, its all gone

Now this world’s a new society
Where people come and go just to feel free
Just to feel free

Are we a post-grunge catastrophe?
Making our dreams while the city sleeps
I've heard maybe were to young now?
Are we a post grunge catastrophe?
Making a scene out in the streets
Your city is ours now!

Go find a better reason
Go find another scandal to stick to us
In the hope we’ll be gone
In the hope we’ll be gone

We know youre not important
You missed the boat long ago
So just give up
Just give up

Are we a post-grunge catastrophe?
Making our dreams while the city sleeps
I've heard maybe were to young now?
Are we a post grunge catastrophe?
Making a scene out in the streets
Your city is ours now!

Now scream (scream)
Tell everyone to run and hide
Cause we’ll change your children
We’ll get em on drugs.
We’ll destroy this hotel room
Were just low life thugs
Were not the new movement
Our 15 minutes are over…
Over

This catastrophe will swallow all my friends
I dream a dream of broken down cars
Vinyl records, and where we kill the trends
So lets dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream!

Are we a post-grunge catastrophe?
Making our dreams while the city sleeps
I've heard maybe were to young now?
Are we a post grunge catastrophe?
Making a scene out in the streets
Your city is ours now!

Music The song starts with a loud, fast rock band worthy guitar riff. Things slow down for the first verse as Billie plays open chords on a relatively clean electric guitar. The drums are mellow and the bass is slowly building to the chorus. The chorus comes as Vin breaks out some sweet lead guitar and Robert picks up the drums a bit more. The next verse and chorus continue just like the first ones did. Then the intro riff picks up again, and then leads into a progression in which Vin uses his favorite Cry Baby pedal. Billie breaks the vocals with help from Suburban Sunrise, and Jason Smith, down before Vin heads into the heaviest and most melodic guitar solo he’s ever played. Then things slow down before the vocalists begin the final chorus in which everyone joins in to sing along.

[u[Songwriter’s Analysis:[/u] This song is about the punk scene and music in general. There are lines aimed at critics and some aimed at labels. The overall message is that were here making music. There are a lot of uncertainties that face every musician. Will the next record sell? Will I be able to put dinner on the table for my family?

Enemies
Lyrics - [Collins]
You’re chasing… Something
That never really existed

Quit trying to be someone else
It’ll only bring you closer to hell
Youre screwing up your only chance
So just keep bitching about your teenage romance

Whats you beef, man? Whats your problem?
Why are you this way?
You are the enemy
Whats your beef, man? Whats your problem?
Why do you say what you say?
You are the enemy

I flea at the sign of a fight
Behind your back I say I’ll put you right
I’m far worse I swear
Im trying to seem sophisticated with my new facial hair

Whats you beef, man? Whats your problem?
Why are you this way?
You are the enemy
Whats your beef, man? Whats your problem?
Why do you say what you say?
You are the enemy

We’re chasing… Something
That never really existed

Music: This song starts off with an addicting crunchy guitar riff. Overall the song is a short poppy song. The instruments are straight up rock n roll. This song wont win grammies for being progressive or something new. But its a very fun sing along type song.

Songwriter's Analysis: The song is directed at two things. One is just kind of pop punk band a, b, or c. Then I kind of turn the song around onto me and my flaws. It is also about popular music in general. An underlying message is about how rock is changing, and how no one really believes that it will fully come back. No one thinks there will ever be another Led Zeppelin, or U2, or any legendary band.

Let's Run
Lyrics – [Beckett/Peters]
Are we losing control?
Are we losing control?
Are we losing control?
Are you losing control?
Can we live through this life?
Were we just born to die?

Wars keep raging I can’t stop them
People keep cryin. I can’t comfort them
But in the nuclear winter I’ll be coming to save you
When it all dies out I just want to be with you

Let’s run.
To a place that time left behind
Where we never reach ‘79
Where our dreams are less confined

Are we killing a hope?
Are we killing a dream?
Are we killing ourselves?
Are we killing the scene?
Can we challenge ourselves
To make a better life?

Stores keep closing. I can’t stop it
Friends keep leaving. I can’t keep them
But when we don’t break even I’ll be holding your hand
Until we find a better land

Let’s run.
To a place that time left behind
Where we never reach ‘79
Where our dreams are less confined

Let’s run.
To a place that time left behind
Where we never reach ‘79
Where our dreams are less confined

Music: The whispery beginning of this song leads into the verse with only arpeggio style electric guitar and bass. This song is joined by a cello on the chorus where some soft rhythm guitar comes in and is joined by bongos for rhythm. The full band continues for the rest of the song. On the final chorus the full drum set and louder rhythm guitar join in. Overall this song is more soft than the rest of the album.

Songwriter’s Analysis: This is the only love song on the album. When I wrote this song I really wanted to make the point that personal relationships are the most important thing in my life. When everything in the world collapses those personal relationships will be what we turn to to stay sane.

Almost (Not) Famous
Lyrics – [Collins/Peters]
Sit home read your magazines
Wonder what its all about
Terrified of the world you see
You just want to tear it down

Everytime that theres another movement
Anytime we start singing loud
Everytime you turn up the music
You can’t help but think you’re selling us out

Let’s trash this place
And go back to the bus
My words are the only things that agree with me
Let’s kill this life
And get back in the garage
Get me back to the river banks

If its angry call it punk
If its bitter call it emo
If its short haired call it indie
If its long haired call it metal
They will sell us out. They will water us down.
They hated us.
Then we got some
They’ll get theirs
When we cut em
Now everybody cut em!

Let’s trash this place
And go back to the bus
My words are the only things that agree with me
Let’s kill this life
And get back in the garage
Get me back to the river banks

Let’s trash this place
And go back to the bus
My words are the only things that agree with me
Let’s kill this life
And get back in the garage
Get me back to the river banks

Music: This song is another short punk song. It starts loud and ends loud. After the first chorus, however, there is a funky ska influenced break down that leads into some great vocals by Billie that are full of punk rock screams. Then after the second chorus Vin throws in a short guitar solo before there is another chorus and the song ends.

Songwriter’s Analysis: This is another song that is mostly about the temptation to just sell out. It is also very much about a desire to regain the great perks that come along with being a new and unknown band. The line “Get me back to the river banks” refers to two things that sum up the song. One is simply a desire to no longer be mainstream, and to have no one know who you are. It also refers to a place along the Sacramento River where Vin, Billie, and Matt would go to play music and just hang out which also happens to be the place that they started Reported Failure.

Side B:

Years Apart
Lyrics - [Beckett]
I want to find
Something that isn’t there
I want to be
With someone who cares
I’m too late now
It doesn’t exist

It doesn’t exist

Music: A steady progression of acoustic chords an epic guitar riff leading into a climax of noise on every instrument, plus modern sounding bangs, crashes, and a distorted orchestra that is joined by the vocals. Things quiet down to where they began before progressing once more to the orgasm of sound as Billie screams into the mic.

Leader of an Empire That Doesn't Exist
Lyrics - [Beckett/Peters]
I thought I could run away
Find a town where im just a lonely stranger
Try to quit wasting away the days
But im growing old and its getting later
If this is all I’ll ever be. Then what am I doing here?
I’m a catastrophe, yeah!

These pills
Could never work fast enough
To stop this, to stop this
My life
Is a vast, dark chasm until I die
Cause I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist
I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist
I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist

Look at the world
Think to yourself
Is this good enough
Is this gonna help?
But I know how you can live today, or you can die tomorrow
Just listen to me say
Im a catastrophe, yeah!

These pills
Could never work fast enough
To stop this, to stop this
My life
Is a vast, dark chasm until I die
Cause I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist
I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist
I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist

We are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are… A catastrophe, yeah! (But lets live that way)

These pills
Could never work fast enough
To stop this, to stop this
My life
Is a vast, dark chasm until I die
Cause I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist
I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist
I’m ruler of an empire that doesn’t exist

Music: The song starts out acoustic. Electric lead guitar and drums slowly begin to join in as a piano plays softly in the background. The chorus brings in the full band, even though they are still playing a little bit soft. Everything progresses by the end of the second chorus to the point where the instruments are being played heavier than at most other points on the album. Billie’s vocals are really quite fantastic on this mid-tempo song.

Songwriters Analysis: In a nutshell, this song is about hitting rock bottom. That is really all that there is to it. Most of the album is about a big picture catastrophe. This is more of a personal catastrophe occurring when someone has hit rock bottom and is just entirely lost in their life.

Eight
Lyrics-[Beckett]
I dreamed a dream
It’s slipping out of reach
Am I falling off my feet?

Music: This begins with a quiet drum beat that soon is joined by a strong bass riff. Then out of nowhere comes the guitar which is joined by cymbol crashes, symphonic harmonies, and a scream from Billie that has never before been summoned from him. The instrumental fill ends with a sudden movement from loud back to the quiet that it began with.
The Cure To Growing Older
Lyrics - [Peters]
Destroy… Destroy… Destroy…

Lets blow this off
And sink into our melodies
Too bad were long gone
We’ve been destroyed by our endless tragedies

The bombs go off, the war never ends
My time is up in this hospital bed
Oil and blood are all I can send
To my family before im dead

So lets destroy it all!
Lets just start over
Before we die I’ll meet you in a place…
Where we never fall
Where the world stays sober
Where these melodies are the cure to growing older
The cure to growing older

The world fights, darkness descends
We try to turn on the amps before this ends
So bring on the city streets, in the dark I welcome all
Anyone who can sing along
So steal some cars, you don’t have to go far
We’ll sing this out before the fall

So lets destroy it all!
Lets just start over
Before we die I’ll meet you in a place…
Where we never fall
Where the world stays sober
Where these melodies are the cure to growing older
The cure to growing older

Music: Straight up punk rock. This is the big anthem on the album. Like most of the songs the lyrics are the main focus over the instrumentals. This catchy tune has an addictive chorus and is up beat and ready for radio.

Songwriter’s Analysis: At the end of the world, there is music. That is what this song is about. I could go on and get all cliché if I wanted. Music brings the world together in the worst of times. That is what I wanted to accomplish with this song.

Everything We've Done
We’re all, we’re all gone.
We’re hiding from something.
Please come into the light
Will it be alright?

They say weve destroyed the world of post-black and white
And were just here to pick fights
The bottlenecks done and were whats left behind
We’re just pissed off kids who call ourselves punk rock
You’ve kicked our arrogant asses out so many times
Because your head hurts and we left a mess behind

What are we?

Yea we’re a catastrophe
For making ourselves, weve dug ourselves in the dirt
Were stuck in endless cycles
Of wild mood swings but do we even want to get out
Maybe we’ve found ourselves?

I screw with what you know
I’d fuck you all if given the chance
I’m irresponsible
But I’ll make it

Yea we’re a catastrophe
For making ourselves, weve dug ourselves in the dirt
Were stuck in endless cycles
Of wild mood swings but do we even want to get out
Maybe we’ve found ourselves?

Catastrophe…
We are a post-grunge catastrophe
Making a scene while your city sleeps
We’ve found our home now

Music:The song starts off very quiet and whispery. After the first few lines a steady drum beat forms along with some distant sounding lead guitar. Then things break down into the first verse and the power chords and bass come in. This leads into the chorus and the song doesn’t change much until after the second chorus. The chords die down and a piano begins playing quietly as Billie breaks down the vocals with several lines of “catastrophe”. Then things break into an adjusted chorus from the title track to close the album.

I’ll Fight My Instincts, Fight My Feelings
But I’m Just Falling Apart
---
I’ll Close My Eyes And Let My Mind Run Free
Holding You Is Where I Long To Be
I’m Trying To Keep Calm And Fight What I Feel
But A Space In My Heart Is Harder To Heal
---
So I’ll Try To Move On And Pretend That Everything’s Fine
But I Know What I Feel And I Want You To Be Mine
So Tell Me What Your Feeling, Is It The Same
If I Get Hurt, Your Not To Blame
---
So If It Takes A Moment To Like
And An Hour To Love
A Lifetime To Forget
I Guess It’s Easier To Regret
---
And I’ll Walk These Streets In The Pitch Black Dark
Hoping To See You Someday, To Re-Ignite This Spark
I’ll Wonder And Wonder, If We’ll Ever Get To Meet
Until That Day Comes, My Heart Will Learn To Beat
---
So If It Takes A Moment To Like
And An Hour To Love
A Lifetime To Forget
I Guess It’s Easier To Regret
---
People Say It’s Better To Have Loved And Lost
But If This Is The Pain I’ll Feel Then I’ll Pay The Cost
Because Living Without You Is A Pain I Can’t Take
And Although I’ll Live On, My Heart Will Still Ache
---
So If It Takes A Moment To Like
And An Hour To Love
A Lifetime To Forget
I Guess It’s Easier To Regret
---
If I’m Tearing Apart At The Seams
If Your Longing To Be In My Dreams
If I Wanna Be Feeling Free
Then I’ll Need Your Love To Comfort Me
---
So If It Takes A Moment To Like
And An Hour To Love
A Lifetime To Forget
I Guess It’s Easier To Regret

The Echoes Of My Soul

Quote:
A Huge Insecurity, Burning Deep Inside
As I Try To Bury This Pain, It’s Impossible To Hide
Instead They Move Up To The Surface, Threatening To Break Free
Threatening To Tell The World, Just Who I Used To Be
---
Is This Pain Really Here, Or Is It All In My Head
I Guess This Worry Will Last, Or I Could Tell The World Instead
It Brings Me Back, To That Place And I Guess The Truth I’ll Have To Face
Instead Of Living I’m Dying Slow, Instead Of Coming, I’ve Gotta Go
---
So I’ll Make A Wish, I’ll Place It In My Heart
Everything I Want, So My Life Can Finally Start
Will It Make Things Right, Will It Make Things Real
Will It Make My Heart Begin To Heal
---
So Now That I Have It, I’ll Believe It Can Come True
You’d Think I’m Doing This For Myself, But The Truth Is, I’m Doing It For You
Because Once You Have Me At My Best, We’ll Live Together And Forget The Rest
So Those Who Say Wishes, Can’t Ever Be Real, Make A Wish For Them, In The Hope That They Feel
---
So Now I’m Singing With The Echoes
Just The Echoes Of My Soul
Feel Like A Gap Has Gone, I’ve Removed The Hole
So Sing With Your Echoes
Your Echoes Of Your Soul, Together We Can Stand As One
Together We Will Fall
---
So If You Believe What You Really Want,
Can Someday Come True
Open Your Heart And Mind To The Possibility Of It All
And It Will Make It’s Way To You
---
You May Get What Your Wishing For As Long As You Believe
So Make Your Wish Now, And You Will Receive
The World Is Full Of Magic, If You Open Up Your Mind
You Could Be Surprised With What You See
Surprised With What You Find
---
So Now I’m Singing With The Echoes
Just The Echoes Of My Soul
Feel Like A Gap Has Gone, I’ve Removed The Hole
So Sing With Your Echoes
Your Echoes Of Your Soul, Together We Can Stand As One
Together We Will Fall
---
So This Is Not The End Of Your Dreams
This Is Just The Start
Believe In The Echoes Of Your Soul
Believe It With All Your Heart

Best Solo Artist

Brittany Knox - It is almost impossible to believe what Brittany Knox has gone through, and who she is now. First debuting in the summer of 2010, the media attacked Brittany Knox for her gimmicky and generic persona and music, that Brittany almost lost her career do to the media, but since then Brittany has gone through many changes including her look, and sound and it seems to be the jackpot because since then, Brittany has released a critically acclaimed E.P (Halfway There) and two very successful singles which were 'Truce'[Top 5 in over 10 countries #2 in the U.S and U.K] and Me Against The World [Which hit #1 on the Top 20, and in 3 other countries.] Now that 2011 has come around, the beauty sets her site all the way to the top just last week releasing her monster single 'Desert Paradise' which has gotten a MASSIVE critical acclaim and is projected to make a nice impact on music charts.

Best Newcomer
James Urie - Has has only been around for a few months and is already recognised as a young figure who will take over the rock scene for years to come. He has already released a number 1 single named 'Dig Me A Hole'

Best Lyrics
Losing My Religion
Verse 1
When he pinned me down I could just scream
Uh (Ah!!)
Punching, Kicking, Slapping his boday [body*]
Could never forgive him for this dirty scene
Even if he tried to kiss my whole boday-yah[body*]

Hook
Losing it so slowly ah, losing it so slowly-ah
I'm not so sweet, might be petite-eet
Losing it so slowly ah, losing it so slowly ah
He's not the one, but I'm not done, done

Chorus
I might be painting him out as some murderer but I'm losing my religion bay-bee
The sweet girl you once knew, is not pure at all
Shes losing her religion (This Is Crazy)
I'm not sure if these are tears of joy (joy)
Or just tears cause im no longer pure, (pure)

Lala-La-La-La-La-La-La La-Oh Gosh (Oh Gosh)

Verse 2
He told me I need to go home already
What will momma she say when she sees Me (Yah)
"Chloe where've you been since Saturday?"
Momma I was living free, that's me
With that boy that I showed you from parties (ah)

HaHa-ah-ah-ah(2x)

She slapped me down (Slapped me down)
HaHa-ah-ah-ah(2x)

I turned at her and screamed, I'm done c*nt!

Chorus
I might be painting him out as some murderer but I'm losing my religion bay-bee
The sweet girl you once knew, is not pure at all
Shes losing her religion (This Is Crazy)
I'm not sure if these are tears of joy (joy)
Or just tears cause I'm no longer pure, (pure)

Bridge
The morale of this story is to watch your crazy baby...
Getting tide up in a man's free lease
She loses her religion
Than loses her mind
Worse comes to worse and shes dead by twenty five

Oh.... Oh...
Its the truth ..its the truth..
Oh yeaa-ah
Its happening.... to me!

Chorus (2x)

I might be painting him out as some murderer but I'm losing my religion (This is crazy)
The sweet girl you once knew, is not pure at all
Shes losing her religion (This Is Crazy)
I'm not sure if these are tears of joy (joy)
Or just tears cause I'm no longer pure (pure)

Best Single
Brittany Knox - Desert Paradise
Quote:
As Summer 2011 rolls on in, many acts have been attacking the industry with single and album releases. Artists like Glamazon, Alicia Lena, Stephanie Fierce are among the top female figures for the year of 2011 so far. So where does that leave Brittany Knox? After her platinum selling E.P Halfway There soured to the number two spot on the Chart Heat Album's chart as well as shoveling out a #1 and #2 hit , the dust cleared and Brittany Knox announced that she would start recording an album after a short break from the industry. As the months went on, we did not hear much from Knoxville until 5 months ago in January when she announced recording for her new album had begun.

Within these 5 months Brittany Knox has become one of the most anticipated acts of 2011, announcing collaborations with Jason Smith who she has never worked with before, Danny Allen, Jake Wilson and an onslaught of musical figures who contributed to the albums recording and in time Brittany has become one of the biggest trending artists in recent times and have been co signed by almost every artist asked about. So where does that leave Brittany? Brittany is really certifying her spot as a pop icon with her new single, and album slated for a summer 2011 release.

Desert Paradise is the leading single off of Brittany Knox' forthcoming, and highly anticipated album. The song is a concoction of New Wave and Dance that will most likely make people feel positive after hearing it. Lets face it, Brittany is on top right now, shes happy. She's a huge name in music, she's in love, and most importantly she's inspired and she quickly shows us just how innovative she can be as an artist listening to her new song.

The song itself has a very triumphant, uplifting vibe to it and features the electric guitar, keyboards, synths and has an 80's feel to it with a fleck of a disco edge in it, making the new wave and dance come out to be a masterpiece.

The verses run smoothly and loudly as Brittany sings with heavy confidence about escaping to a Desert with no one but herself, her lover, and her favorite guitar, as they enjoy a "paradise" away from the media, the fame, the fortune as they go throughout the town enjoying each others company away from any type of scrutiny making the song relatable to not only different artists looking to get away from all the media, but any person feeling under pressure, and is wishing to get away from everything. They could relate to going to this "desert paradise" Brittany sings of in this song.

The chorus is probably the best part of the song because it is simply unexpected and it creeps up on you. Brittany's voice, fresh and clean blasts out onto the chorus sort of catching the listener off guard as their ears are greeted with Brittany's beautiful vocals, guitar chords handed by Brandon Caulfield, and synths and would easily get caught in your head after listening to it for the first time as Brittany's voice sounds better on this song than any of her previous releases as she belts out in a c5 vocal range.

What we like about the song is that not only can it be a major hit on the dance floor with its electronic edge, the song can also be taken on a more serious stand point being relatable with virtually anyone.

If you feel alone who feels alone and your looking to feel uplifted by the end of a song, Desert Paradise is the song to listen to. This isn't a song about dancing on a dance floor, nor or falling in love.. but something more special.. something worth a listen.

Brittany is clearly inspired an confident through the strength in her voice and you could tell shes at a new high, she's hungry and she's aiming for the top. Brittany certifies her spot with her latest release out THIS SUNDAY... everyone run for cover.

James Urie - Dig Me A Hole
Quote:

As April of 2011 comes to light, James Urie who is the brother of Suburban Sunrise front man, Matt Urie. He is also no stranger to rock bands as he use to sing for the Walls and other small bands that never got off their feet. Coming to the end of 2010, James had promised us a song that will be memorable, and we waited. And finally, here it is. 'Dig Me A Whole'. The song is an unapologetic and controversial song that explains how bad the world is coming to be. With the terrible economy, crime rates, death, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and more, James Urie encourages himself to dig a hole for himself, and be woken up when all the pain and suffering comes to an end. He belts the words 'I'll Dig Myself A Whole' throughout the Progressive chorus showing off his perfect vocals behind the thumbing baseline and guitar chords leading off the song. The guitar becomes fully apart of the song for a beautiful bridge, where James holds a long note belting the word 'hole'.

We are so impressed with the song because James sounds so emotionally connected to the song. He sounds so in tuned with the lyrics and emotion of the song, that you could sort of imagine him digging a hole, and actually hiding out for years to come. With the wonderful production, writing, lyrics, and vocals. We are almost sure that James has completely made another lane for himself, and far away from his brother who he has been compared to on more then one occasion.

Best Lyrics

History Feat.GirlSpice & Stephanie Fierce

(Tisha-Verse)

Came up from Brooklyn
A little girl from Bed-Stuy
She made it big and moved downtown to the city of big dreams
Now she’s standing tall next to GS and Stephanie
I’m feeling the love around me everywhere
I remember the days when I had to take the bus and train everywhere
Now I’m cruising down 7th avenue in my all white lexus
This the same little girl from Bed-Stuy
The place the birth and raised Lena Horne, Jay-Z, and Biggie
I’m still humble…I just feel really good
You can tell by these words that I feel like I’m making

(Chorus)

History
Words out my mouth and onto paper
Words made to inspire you
We’re making History
Rose from the bottom straight up to the top
You can’t call it a hot shot
History
This is her story broken down from past, to present, and to the future
Don’t get it confused
We’re still the same chicks from the old block
Just a bit more wiser and enjoying life on top
Can I get a round of applause for History, History, History

(Stephanie Fierce-Verse)

Coming from a city that many pity and feel like most of us won’t make it
I feel like I just created History with the words that I just stated
Now I know what they mean when the say from the bottom to the top
Because now I’m living on top of the charts
I used to die to be in the in crowd
But I just got a call to be the cover of Vogue so now I’m living in style
Came in an amateur and graduated to the high life
The world that I inspire got me feeling like a champion
No, I’m not over confident, I just feel like I’m making…

(Chorus)

History
Words out my mouth and onto paper
Words made to inspire you
We’re making History
Rose from the bottom straight up to the top
You can’t call it a hot shot
History
This is her story broken down from past, to present, and to the future
Don’t get it confused
We’re still the same chicks from the old block
Just a bit more wiser and enjoying life on top
Can I get a round of applause for History, History, History

(GirlSpice-Verse)

Throw one hand in the air for the celebration
Throw another hand in the air if this is an inspiration
No feeling in the world that can compare
When you feel like you’re on the top and the world won’t stop
Open your eyes and mind to big dreams
History got me feeling emancipated and brand new
Speak your words into existence
Don’t just stand there looking pretty
Throw your hands up in the air and scream
Yeaaaah, Yeaaaahhh

(Chorus)
History
Words out my mouth and onto paper
Words made to inspire you
We’re making History
Rose from the bottom straight up to the top
You can’t call it a hot shot
History
This is her story broken down from past, to present, and to the future
Don’t get it confused
We’re still the same chicks from the old block
Just a bit more wiser and enjoying life on top
(Break-line/Bridge)
Can I get a round of applause for History, History, History
A standing O’ for the History, History, History

Well well well it's IMA time.

We would like to put ourselves forward for the Best Band Category. We are an 8 piece multinational experimental group from Hartlepool in the North East of England. We have been around since 2006/7 and in that time we have released 10 albums through various versions of TRSG, ranging from Jazz to almost Drum N' Bass in their sounds. Although we may not bother the charts that much and aren't particularly bothered about them either, we are a successful band who have worked hard for our fans and to create some of the most interesting music around. We try to be different to all the other bands out there and try to give our audiences and fans a visual and audio experience when coming to one of our gigs. The Herr Fische Dance Troupe provide some acrobatic interludes during our shows, Chris likes to get up close to the fans in what has been dubbed 'Fische Ball' and our hugely popular dance off competitions provide that audience participation factor that some gigs lack.

We have had our ups and downs and have split/went on hiatus on several occasions. However, we believe that this has made us stronger as a band as we have so many varying experiences and our best ideas seam to materialise when we re-convene. We believe that this has provided some of our longevity in the music business. As a band we intend to carry on doing what we do and love for as long as you lot want us.

Anyhoo, more plugging. Just for the hell of it, we would like to nominate some of us for the 'Most Attractive...' categories. Here's some pics.
