Other: Vocals, Guitars Steven Stuart Moxey was born on the 18th of November 1983 in Exeter, England. His parents – Janine and Fredrick Moxey – were both heavily involved with music from a young age, with his mother being part of a failed girl group when she was 18 and his dad becoming a festival manager at a young age too.
With both of his parents being so heavily involved in music, Steven never stood a chance. His mother gave him singing lessons from a young age, and she also got him some guitar lessons from a local music teacher. Her idea for him was for him to become a famous singer/guitarist; she wanted him to succeed in the music industry where she had failed.
Steven didn’t really want to play the guitar, it bored him; his mother was putting him under a lot of pressure to practice every day, and this just put him off the guitar. So he asked his dad if he could take up drum lessons, but not tell his mother. His dad agreed with his reasoning, and booked him in for some drum lessons.
When he was 13 years old, his voice finally broke. This meant that his voice had become a lot deeper and he could not sing the songs that his mother had originally been making him sing – this was almost a relief for Steven. He liked to sing, just not the songs his mother made him sing.
Not long after turning 18, Steven decided that he wanted to be known as Stevie. Nothing major, just a simple name change. He started auditioning for local bands who wanted a drummer. When he finally got a trial his mother was very pleased – until she found out that it was for a drumming role rather than a lead singing/guitarist position. She still didn’t know until this point that he even played the drums!
For the next 6 years, he was a part of this band. They were called The Preachers and played metal music. He eventually got bored of playing with these guys and the group split up. Over the course of those 6 years, they had released 4 official EPs as well as 1 full length LP. None of them were particularly noticed by anyone.
So, now at 24 years old, Stevie isn’t playing music any more. He left school with very few useable qualifications, so redid some of his GCSEs. This time around, he got an A in English Language and a B in Maths and Chemistry.
This lead up to him being 26 years old, now with a few useable qualifications. He started applying for higher paying jobs than his current bar working job. In late 2010, he was offered a job with a stockbrokers – it wasn’t a high paying job, but it had the opportunity to learn the job and get in there from the bottom; he almost took this job until he saw that young rap icon MattY was advertising for a drummer to tour with him.
He had missed his drum kit, and so decided to take the opportunity to tour one of Hip-Hop’s biggest new names. He toured with him through both the FreshMixx Tour and the Warped! Tour.
Since then, he has also signed a deal with underground production duo Buzz & Hype to help them with drumming on their next EP rather than using a drum machine.

"Wow! I played the drums for MattY at the Field Trip Festival yesterday... I can't even describe how amazing that felt... I have decided that now I wanna do that again... If anyone is interested in forming a band with me that would be awesome! Just to let you know, I prefer playing the drums, but I am also quite good at the guitar and many people have said that I am a very good vocalist. So if you're interested, get in touch!
Also, I have been recording with Buzz & Hype, playing the drums for them. Their EP is finished now, and I was on every song!!! BOOOM!"

"Guess who has been asked to become Mind's new drummer... Yeah! You got it! Me!!!! It is a pretty amazing feeling! So i have been doing a bit of work with Milk Moustashe recently. They are doing an album and they needed a drummer, so naturally i stepped in - and now Mind have come back together and wanted a drummer and i just happened to be a massive Mind fan and somehow have become their drummer!!! Life IS good!"
