Buzz & Hype - Speed of Sound (ft. Lucifer)
Lyrics
Prepare for me, your mind'll get fucked,
You'll be speechless, your words I'll abduct,
I'll take you down, at the speed of sound,
You won't see it coming; you'll be on the ground,
You should listen to what I'm saying in my bars,
It's like a message from the stars,
It's Godly, but I'm the king of Hell,
If you don't do what I want, I'll cast a fire spell,
You'll be butchered alive, and then I'll butcher you dead,
I think all this power has gone to head,
So here's a piece of advice,
Do what I say, intolerance won't suffice,
I was brought up on only bread and rice,
You think you got it bad? You got it nice.
You're spending time with you friends, what a dream,
My best friend was shot when he was fifteen,
Then I was always smoking, my mouth should've been green,
From all the grass, I just couldn't redeem,
My sense of what is right and wrong,
Now I've always got lyrical words on my Tongue,
Rap is in my blood, I breathe it in every day,
Everything’s clear, no patches of grey,
I'm on CSI 'cause I'm a rap criminal,
Ever heard my rhymes? They are subliminal,
And, yes, there's truth behind every single syllable,
I'm surprised I'm still here, what a miracle,
I'm so fucking drugged up, everything's so clinical,
I used to go to Church and believe in all biblical,
But now I'm the motherfucking devil.
Description
The sound of rain can be heard hitting what sounds like a hard surface, like a car window. A door can be heard opening and then slamming, with the rain sound now getting louder. A heavy guitar riff suddenly blasts into action and Lucifer’s dark, harsh voice can be heard rapping with incredible speed. The drums kicked in after the first line, but when Lucifer says “It’s Godly” the music stops, and he continues over nothing. On the word, “Hell” the music comes back in faster and harder than before.
Between the verses, the song goes Dubstep, with a traditional drop and ‘wob’ sounds; which lead into the next verse. Lucifer’s voice suddenly seems to start telling a story; the words hit home as he is now telling the listener a bit about himself and his life. The music is still hard and heavy, which represents the strain and the pain that Lucifer has been through, as well as the lyrics actually telling the story.
The music all stops and Lucifer says the last line slowly. Footsteps are heard fading into the distance with the sound of rain continuing for a few more seconds after they have gone.
