06/22/11: greetings from the surface!
this is only a tease of what is to come at the end of summer. it's more then just an album from some rock band this is quarantines finest album to date! back with a new sound, a new image, and new album the band find more of themselves with aggresive tunes such as the open track to "To The Surface" "Lazarus". it has some math-core elements blended in with a returning experimental sound that hasn't really been heard from the band since their second album "Rx". it also is dark, music to listen to tripping acid, the album explores the threat of how life will be if we all were to get nuked and having the world turn to a radiation land. a single hasn't been chosen yet but mostly will be by july since the album is set to explode in august. a special e.p. will be released soon called "Dreamcatcher" it features 3 tracks that didn't make the cut to "To The Surface" and hints at what you can find on the new album. the band will be going on a world domination tour soon and will have dates posted ASAP. for now we will tease you with the tracklist only releasing two song titles a week. will start off with track 1 & 2 today.

"To The Surface" tracklist:
01. Lazarus
02. Song for Eddington

the band and i are extremely excited and hope you all are as well. this is your trusty captain regan futrell ending this transmission.

live long & prosper.

Glad someone else is excited as we are! Also I forgot to mention we're gonna need openers for our tour so any band who want to tour the world with us just let us know. No corporate ass pop music allowed though, sorry! Also I forgot to mention this will be the end of the trilogy concept albums we have put out starting with Rx, then Glasshouse, and now To The Surface. We will most likely put on a little concert soon performing all 3 albums all the way through. They all don't have a connection but they all aren't to much differ from each other. To The Surface is our heaviest and darkest record we've done. It's fast paced and some songs have a Cure sound you can hear in the songs while others is a unique metal sound we have perfected on this record. This isn't going to be our last album but if it was it would sure be a good way to go out.

Well, we've got a pretty busy schedule with recording and whatnot, but I think it'd be awesome to be your support act for three or four dates, if you'd have us. We're called Infinite, and I really hope our music isn't classified as 'corporate pop'.

-Eric Quillington
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

Katie: I was just wondering...do you differentiate between corporate ass pop, and some form of credible pop? Not that I intend to support you, cos I'm totally busy, but I'm a folk-pop artist and I'd consider myself anything but "corporate ass". I'm not having a go btw...I love Quarantine, I'm just asking :)

To you & Katie I don't think you're music is considered corporate pop as I have been a fan of both since ya'll came out on the scene. I've listened to Infinite a lot and really like you guys and would be glad to have yall for 3 or 4 dates.

Yeah man. Preorders are starting at midnight tonight! Sorry for not keeping everyone updated but we've been writing another record in the process of getting ready for this album. The next album won't be recorded until the new one is out but we are already ahead of ourselves to what direction we are trying to go for. We plan to release volume 3 of the b-sides by next week, an e.p. by August 5th and the new album by the end of August. The first single will be released soon. Sorry this has taken forever but we are trying to make sure this album sounds as awesome as we want it to sound. For now here is the official tracklist to "To The Surface":

01. Lazarus
02. Song for Eddington
03. Blackout
04. The Radiation
05. Beneath the Sorrow Ground
06. Failing
07. Heat Death
08. Maxwell's Demon
09. Arrow of Time
10. My Own Comatose

The albums closer is in tribute to my old friend who went missing Jakey Comatose. The first single is going to be "Failing". Artwork for the single and album will be up ASAP. The album is more progressive rock then any of our old albums. It has to be our heaviest record to date but at the same time more melody then the others as well. Also since the closing of Comatose Records and we haven't been offered a label yet and I'm at the point at saying fuck labels. I will be releasing our music through our own independent label I'm calling The Cerebral Collection for everything Quarantine, bunker18, my solo albums and future projects including us. Another thing to make clear Casting Thin Shadows have officially called it quits for good. We might release our last album we recorded last fall but no tour or promoting the album will take place. It's not that we all had an arguement or anything it's just that it's time to move on with each others lives. It was a really good run with CTS and we are so thankful for the things we accomplished and the fanbase we built around it. Fear won't be releasing a new album either. Alex Sin went back to rehab and Paul Reeves last I heard was trying to make a new Waiting Room album and was going to try to get John Smith from Casting Thin Shadows back in the band.

Quarantine album cover for "To The Surface":
UserPostedImage

The album is about the aftermath of an entire world being blown up by a nuke war and being able to live through it underneath a bunker and coming out safe when it is all done. It isn't a concept album but the whole album deals with this situation from the opener Lazarus to the ending dramatic closer My Own Comatose. To The Surface is an album for all Quarantine fans as it delivers a new sound and old familar sounds from past favorite Quarantine albums such as Rx, and Glasshouse. The band are set to go on a world tour very soon and plan to also release a special 3 track E.P. called Dreamcatcher which is to come out this Tuesday to give fans something to enjoy before the first single "Failing" is delivered to the radio stations and music video gets sent to the music channels. The album was self-produced by the whole band as Regan was quoted saying they couldn't find a producer and wanted to have Jakey Comatose produce it but no one knows when the man is at as he has become missing. The album will be released on Regans own label he has started for Quarantine, his solo work, bunker18(Vincent Hales solo project), and his friends in The Waiting Room. It is called The Cerebral Collection. Regan and the rest of the band are very excited to make a return to music with such an epic pack album in the delivery. To The Surface is aiming for an August 16th release. Marking their first release in a very long time. So stay tune as tour dates are to posted.

Also Quarantine will release the long awaited "See The Hole In The Sky?: Volume III of Quarantine B-Sides & Rarities" which was suppose to be released last year but never had time due to Regan taking time off. The band plan to record their world tour and release a double disc live album near the end of the year also.

P.S. the band will have a new look and will play live as they look in this pic they have took over last weekend:

Still need openers! "Dreamcatcher" E.P. has been pushed back. Artwork still isn't finalized and also was a problem with the mixing for the 3 tracks and the tracks off of To The Surface. But we will have this shit out ASAP! We'll also have the volume 3 of the b-sides out the same day as Dreamcatcher. We're also slowly at work on the next album to try to have out after To The Surface. So far we have 2 songs done for it. It might be titled The Gaston L.P. from where we are from to pay tribute where it all started. Started rehearsing for the live shows we are gonna have an epic tour on our hands! Can't wait.
