Ellie-Grace Summers Live From Tennessee Performing Arts Festival 2011 Nashville, Tennessee - July 9, 2011A young girl called Ellie-Grace Summers walks out onto the center of the stage to a moderate reception, she is after all a completely unknown in Nashville. She walks out onto the stage with an acoustic guitar in her hands, she steps up to the microphone and looks out at the 300+ capacity crowd in attendance today. “Hey everybody, are you having fun so far.” she pauses as the crowd cheer, she then adjusts the strings on her guitar and starts to gently play it as she continues to talk to the crowd, “I’m Ellie-Grace, Uhh, I’m from Brentwood, Tennessee which isn’t much but it’s my whole world.” she pauses briefly and begins to play the intro to her first song. “This is called Fast Car.” she smiles and begins to play the intro to the Tracey Chapman song, the crowd cheer as she begins to sing in her soft breezy country accent. Fast Car (Tracey Chapman Cover)“You got a fast car, I want a ticket to anywhere Maybe we make a deal, Maybe together we can get somewhere Anyplace is better, Starting from zero got nothing to lose Maybe we'll make something, But me myself I got nothing to prove --- You got a fast car, And I got a plan to get us out of here I been working at the convenience store, Managed to save just a little bit of money We won't have to drive too far, Just 'cross the border and into the city You and I can both get jobs, And finally see what it means to be living --- You see my old man's got a problem, He live with the bottle that's the way it is He says his body's too old for working, I say his body's too young to look like his My mama went off and left him, She wanted more from life than he could give I said somebody's got to take care of him, So I quit school and that's what I did --- You got a fast car, But is it fast enough so we can fly away We gotta make a decision, We leave tonight or live and die this way --- I remember we were driving driving in your car, The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us, And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder And I had a feeling that I belonged, And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone --- You got a fast car, But is it fast enough so we can fly away We gotta make a decision, We leave tonight or live and die this way”She finished the song with a flourish, giving the song a more country feel to it which the crowd seemed to enjoy. As the song ends she smiles as she looks at the crowd and then thanks the crowd once more as the crowd quiets down a little. Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan Cover)She adjusts the microphone slightly and introduces the next song, “So this is a song that I just love to listen to, It’s been covered so much over the last few years but hopefully I can do it justice, it’s called Make You Fell My Love. Hope you like it.” She begins to play the introduction and starts singing the recently popular song. The crowd cheer as she sings the song with her soft vocals. “When The Rain Is Blowin In Your Face And The Whole World Is On Your Case I Could Offer You A Warm Embrace To Make You Feel My Love --- When The Evening Shadows And The Stars Appear And There’s No One There To Dry Your Tears I Could Hold You For A Million Years To Make You Feel My Love --- I Know You Haven’t Made Your Mind Up Yet But I Would Never Do You Wrong I’ve Known It From The Moment That We Met No Doubt In My Mind Where You Belong --- I’d Go Hungry, I’d Go Black And Blue I’d Go Crawling Down The Avenue No There’s Nothing That I Wouldn’t Do To Make You Feel My Love --- Though Storms Are Raging On The Rolling Sea And On The Highway Of Regrets Though Winds Of Change Are Throwing Wild And Free You Ain’t Seen Nothing Like Me Yet (Shouts) --- I Could Make You Happy Make Your Dreams Come True Nothing That I Wouldn’t Do Go To The Ends Of The Earth For You To Make You Feel My Love.”Crying Game, Crying ShameShe leaves the stage briefly and returns with a bottle of water, she takes a quick drink and then sets the bottle on the floor, she adjusts the strings on her guitar slightly and puts her hands on the microphone as she introduces the next song. “Have you guys had fun.” she pauses as the crowd cheer. “That’s awesome, but I’ve only got one more song to perform before I leave and I figured I should probably do an original song, so … I hope you enjoy it … this is called, Crying Game.” She begins the quick acoustic intro to the guitar and begins to sing. “She Was Such A Carefree Girl Until You Showed Her The World And Nothing Ever Remained The Same Now She’s Playing The Crying Game Oh It’s Such A Crying Shame --- You Took Her Into You Arms And Promised She Would Be Yours And The Word Forever Seemed So True But Then Broke Her World In Two --- She Spends Her Nights Sitting On Her Bed With All These Thoughts Running Through Her Head Does She Have Anything To Offer To The World Or Would She Be Better Off Dead --- Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh It’s A Crying Game It’s Such A Crying Shame And Your To Blame --- Did You Ever Mean To Hurt Her I Know You Say You Never Meant No Harm But You Let Her Fall For You In Everyway I Guess It Was Just Your Charm --- But You’ve Killed The Spirit Of Someone So Pure You’ve Got A Disease And There Ain’t No Cure I Hope You Realise Just What You’ve Done Take Your Things And Learn To Run --- Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh It’s A Crying Game It’s Such A Crying Shame And Your To Blame”As the song finishes, Ellie-Grace steps to the edge of the stage and takes a bow and waves out at the crowd, she smiles and then walks back to the centre of the stage, she takes a drink of water and holds the microphone, “Thank you so much, you have all been so wonderful today, I hope you had a great time and I hope you continue to have a wonderful time at this amazing festival. Thank you so much, this has been an amazing festival to play at. Thanks.” She then takes her bottle of water and walks off the side of the stage as the crowd cheer. Setlist1.
