Lisa: Hello everybody and welcome to another installment of Music Box Top Ten! Today's guest budding recording artist Cinzia Ricci! Remembered when I asked last week if Riot! In The Boulevard would remain at #1? Well lets see if they did, or if we have a new #1. Well lets begin the show. Here are the first 5 most requested videos.
Lisa: Please welcome to the stage the stunning Cinzia Ricci!
*Crowd Applauses*
Lisa: So great to see you, how are you?
Cinzia: Its great to see you too Lisa, I'm doing great! Just so excited for all the new things that are to come, its really exciting and pretty crazy too..
Lisa: You have some dedicated fans already, have you seen those guys outside, (laughs) So how do you like New York City?
Cinzia: Heheheh... I saw them and all I could do is laugh and smile.. their really characters, let me tell you! *laughs*. As for New York, I love it here and if you guys want to know alittle secret, this is my first time ever being here... so its pretty amazing. Its so alive and urban and just beautiful. Italy is pretty different from here and it was amazing all the tall buildings and everything that I saw when I got here and I love it. I could definately see myself here more often.
Lisa: So now that your getting famous, you got any words for the people who bullied you in school?
Cinzia: Three words actually.... LOOK AT ME NOW! *crowd applauses loudly*. That's all I have to really say because all the people who made me hurt in the past must feel horrible and jealous..
Lisa: So you recently were signed to Shooting Star Records with a joint deal with Monk on Fire Music, how did all that come about?
Cinzia: I was in LA actually doing some warm up shows in some small clubs.. I was pretty discouraged with the whole problem with the House Movement.. so I was just trying to get inspired again and a day after I performed in Concetta.. Cynthia Sanchez the head scout of Shooting Star Records emailed me about meeting for a possible contract signing. I was so freaking shocked and happy that I had no choice but to accept. I met them, they wanted to sign me and at the same time, come to find out, MOFM were looking to sign me as well but SSR got to me before them. They weren't going out without a fight so they contacted Shooting Star Records to sign a joint deal.. Its pretty amazing how everything came about.
Lisa: So you have your debut single “Italian Hearted” out and its blowing up on the charts. Can you tell us what the song is about?
Cinzia: Yes, my debut single is sorta like a warm up of what is to come, I love it. Its about loving someone like an Italian women, because we can be really loving people, just don't get on our bad sides, woman in general! *Crowd applauds*. Its an empowering song about Italian women, but at the same time all women too.
Lisa: Will there be more songs like Italian Hearted on the album? And, what sound are you going for?
Cinzia: Absolutely. I'm looking for a cross between house, dance, and pop music. I feel more free to try new things then I previously was, and I no longer feel like I'm in the back seat. As a soloist, I just want to make inspiring music, but also music that's club ready ... Its in my European Roots.
Lisa: What artists are you listening to right now?
Cinzia: I love all the artists that are out there. But right now Buzz & Hype are at the top of my playlist because their music is the type of music I find myself listening to the most and my music doesn't stray far from that. I love them. I also love Alicia Lena, Michelle Green, Brittany Knox, Katie Coyle, and plenty more.. everyone's special in their own way.
Lisa: Who’s your biggest influence?
Cinzia: I couldn't say I had one influence. I'd just say House and Dance music are my biggest influences.. and not a specific person, you know?
Lisa: When did you feel that music was what you wanted to do in your life?
Cinzia: From day one, growing up in Italy. I have tapes at home of me singing little songs in Italian, little lullaby's in Italian. I've always been a music baby.. hehe.
Lisa: Now that your dream is coming true, where do you feel you will go next from here?
Cinzia: Basically wherever life takes me. I'm hoping that everything that I've got planned is going to be successful an everyone is going to love it because I'm working so hard, and none stop. I just want people to feel the hard work in my voice because I never stop working becase I want my fans and people who listen to my music to not just hear a dance or a house song and just let the music take over the actual voice. I want both in my music... I want people to hear me as an artist. Not just the track.
Lisa: We have a fan submitted question from Miami, Florida, name Madison and she wrote, “I get bullied in school a lot, and I read that you did too. Do you have any words of inspiration to get me through it?
Cinzia: Don't let those people hurt you.. because as long as you stay strong and ignore what they have to say.. they'll realize whatever their saying isn't phasing you. That's what I learned. You can't let naysayers hold you down. It'll come back to them... just keep that in mind, it'll come back to them.
Lisa: And a final question from an audience member.
Cinzia: *Smiles*
Audience member: Hey Cinzia! I love your song Italian Hearted it always makes me wanna dance, and I want to ask. What is an accomplishment you want to receive in your music career?
Cinzia: To become one of the most notable Italian women in the industry, and that doesn't mean sales and stuff, just in general, I want people to recognise me for the things I've done, and of course success is always wanted.. not needed.. but wanted. In my eyes at least. *Smiles*
Lisa: It was nice meeting you Cinzia *smiles*. Isn't she great!
