Sol: Yo yo yo! What up guys? Ama not really sure how these 'hings go so, shoot away, ask your questions!
Fan: Sol! Im like your biggest fan! I was wondering, when did you discover you had a talent for rapping and singing?
Sol: Well, y'know it all started back in school. To take out my frustration id jus' write a rap y'know. Then i started rapping in the street and people started telling me i was real good. So then with the help of my big sis' i started rapping all the time.
Fan: Hi Sol! What kind of neighborhood did you grow up in?
Sol: The part i grew up in, isn' the parts of Miami you see in the movies y'know. It was, well, you could use terms like rough i mean there would of been at least one kid taken to hospital every day for an attack by others. SO yeah, it was ah, it was tough y'know.
Fan: Did you ever get taken to hospital or been arrested?
Sol: Ah, yes and yes. I think every kid was beaten at least once. My memory of me getting beaten is kinda blurry, i just remember walking down the street then next minute waking up in a hospital bed. They said i had a bottle smashed over my head then suffered severe head blows so, yeah. Im no saint y;know, ive done some things i aint proud a' and for that iw as arrested 3 times. Once for jumping a kid with 2 others the other 2 of possession of weed (laughs).
Fan: Which 2 words describe you best?
Sol: Fuckin' crazy! (laughs)
Fan: Your upcoming single talks about your Mom and Dad, is what you rap about true?
Sol: Yeah its all true. It was tough but i dont want sympathy yeah, i dont want people feeling sorry, plenty other people have suffered worse. I don't like getting deep into really personal tings in interviews, so i rap about em' instead.
Fan: Will you be releasing a music video for The Pain?
Sol: Ah, dont think so. I dont really feel it is necessary for one straight away. AS i progress i will incorporate music videos but at the minute ive no time y'know.
Fan: What was you main influence for the song? And what are your main influences over all?
Sol: Well The Pain samples 2Pac - Changes so obviously that was a major influence when writing it, but also i found the song Lighters by Eminem really helped the process out alot. The 2 of them are huge inspirations to all my work but also people like Wiz Khalifa, Deuce and a great band called Explosions In The Sky, there fuckin' amazing to sample when writing a song!
Fan: Are you working with any other artists currently?
Sol: Yeah im working with the rock band Misery Loves Company, i will produce and feature on one of their songs in their upcoming EP which is really cool and you should definitely check it out! Apart from that im still lookin' but their will be collaborators on the album i definitely want a female vocalist so we'll see how that goes.
Fan: Sol!! Am, can you reveal anything about your upcoming album?
Sol: Sure, as i pervasively said i want a few collaborations y'know. Song wise, you can expect more music like The Pain, and a lot of alternative hip-hop. Im doing a few remixes at the minute, ill let y'all know how they are going!
Fan: Remixes of what songs!?
Sol: (laughs) I had a feeling that was coming. Well without giving too much away.. Love The Way You Lie and Last Night by Breathe Carolina are 2 songs which ive been remixing and sampling at the minute.
Fan: When can we expect a new release?
Sol: Well The Pain was only just released so not for a while! Buh, dont worry yo' ive got a lil treat for fans, i will be releasing a few download of a song very soon! Stay tuned to my website for more details.... ah, final question now.
Fan: Sol.. we all love you!
