"I wasn't fucking sure about releasing this, it's like fucking 'Shattered' all over again," says
Kamikaze Kate, referring to the single from her debut album "Lower Ratings = Better Songs", in which she pulled back the "bitch" persona, and cryptically led us into the life of Kathleen Cruz-Bishop. "It's just like - you get the feeling you just fucking HAVE to write this song. It won't get off your arse until you do .... so I did. And here it is.
"It's 'Hush-A-Bye Lady' and not 'Hush-A-Bye Baby' because - well, I never fucking was a child, was I? As I explained in 'Shattered', my fucking stupid cunt of a non-mother was the kid, and Cat, Tess and I were the adults. Then with my music career - not that it wasn't one of the best fucking things that ever happened to me - starting before my period, stepping into the world of black metal, being around big dirty blokes who thought I was a complete twat, and I thought the same of them. And yes, six years of a fairytale, metal's little bitch princess, you know the rest, and if you don't, there's this thing called Wikipaedophilia or whatever.
"The art tells a story - little Kamikaze Kate, gob wide open and fucknose what I was screaming, when I rose to fame, when I fell from fame, and the cunt I am today."
Kate isn't releasing the full lyric as yet, but here's a snippet -
Don't act like you have a choice,
Scream with that pretty voice,
Get down, get in, get in the bin,
Watch the trash around you fall,
The backdrop for what you're worth is ready,
So hush-a-bye lady.The song sounds a bit like -
