Some people would call Cinzia Ricci the underdog of year, she first emerged as the Italian prospect in early 2011 as runner up and eventual loser to 'The Shooting Aces' mainstream contract search to the Stat Nerds, that eventually led to a highly controversial feud between Ricci and the Stat Nerds that even went as far as Cinzia slapping one of the members of the group during their live performance at an award show earlier this year. As the dust settled Cinzia quieted down and let the shine stay on the winners.
Later in 2011, once again Cinzia re-emerged as one of the members of 'The House Movement' - a group of young and talented DJ's and musicians led by DJ Night, DJ Cloud, Desiree Shapiro and finally Cinzia Ricci. The group gained a massive amount of momentum following Shapiro's massive worldwide hit 'Killer In Disguise' produced by DJ Night. Shapiro's career (as well as The Movement's) was looking to take off into massive appeal but out of no where within the groups start, they eventually broke up following the failing success of Shapiro's second single, and growing tensions between all four members of the group citing that Desiree thought she could control the group and its direction, Cinzia not being able to work on her own material and her visions do to all the money being put into Shapiro and the group "just not getting along". All of the groups four members went their own ways, once again, leaving Cinzia at a brick wall in career. Aside from appearing as a replacement for Alicia Lena for a big performance of Close to Tears with Matty, nothing else came for Ricci in the following months.
Quote:Some people dont know what I have gone threw, alot of people think that I just woke up one day and was projected to be some big star. It was never like that, I spread blood, sweat and alot of tears to get where I am right now, and this is just the beginning. - Cinzia Ricci, 2011
Cinzia soon returned back to her come country of Italy and then Europe and began recording some material without a label, and then flew to the United Kingdom and The United States for some club dates around both countries(hard work right?) in hope of seeking some recognition and hopefully a record deal. That wish eventually was granted when Cynthia Sanchez, head talent scout of Shooting Star Records spotted Cinzia after a great performance at Cherry Pop [A respected gig venue in Hollywood] and eventually the Italian hot prospect was invited to Connecticut for a meeting, and hopefully a signing.
Quote:When I saw her perform, I didn't only see a star, I saw hunger. She just didn't get up there and start dancing and singing, she was feeling her music and I'm like to myself "Didn't I see this girl before, her look and her name sounds soooo familiar and the reaction from the crowd she was getting just blew me away and I knew she wasn't just a local, I knew she was so much more so there was no I way I wasn't going to sign her. - Cynthia Sanchez, 2011
After meeting with Cynthia Sanchez, Emily Smith and owner of Shooting Star Records William Grach, they agreed to sign Cinzia Ricci to Shooting Star Records in a big deal, but before that could happen, Monk Of Fire Music head man, Matticus put up a fight for Ricci and they both agreed to split Ricci on a deal 50/50 to each label.
Finally in 2011, Cinzia released the full version of her first single Italian Hearted which is a massive dance floor anthem that, at first started off slow in sales but after Cinzia appearing on Music Box and other media outlets, the single finally soared to #2 on the Digital Charts making Italian Hearted an instant hit.
Quote:I cant believe the single has done so well this week. Its amazing, I feel like all the bullying, hard work and sweat and tears has paid off, I'm beyond happy, I'm so thankful, its just amazing! Finally things are really started to pay off. - Cinzia, July 2011
Has this underdog finally gotten ehr recognition? We are sure many people want questions to be answered, so please stay tuned for the exclusive interview with the Italian musician in the coming days! |
