OOC: This is the last of my posts for this RP, as I was going to have them recording as well, but I decided it would be mundane written in this style. Hope some people have enjoyed reading.

In The (Mobile) Studio - Big Light Show

Lauren v Cassie

Episode 8 - Finale
Day Four - Part Two

UserPostedImage

When Cassie had awoken on Day 4 on the mobile studio bus, she had expected a pretty low-key day. She had been made part of the band, at last, by a remorseful Lauren England, even although Cassie still hated her, thusly achieving precisely what she had come here to do. And she was pleased with herself for it. Today was set to be the first day of recording, and although Cassie had been unable to sleep for most of the night, perched rather precariously atop a sofa which had really not been designed for spending the night on, she felt quite serene for a change.
The morning sickness had come...of course it had. It always did. She was used to it now though. It had happened for the last few weeks, and she had learned the precursors and all, so that she knew what to expect...knew the signs, and could prepare herself to ride that awful, bile-filled wave once more. So that wasn't a problem...routine never was for Cassie.

What she had not expected though, what she was completely unprepared for, and what she could most definitely not ride the wave of, was the equally bile-filled post which she saw on Culture Uncut that very morning...

She felt it boil up, from somewhere deep in the pit of her stomach...

Cassie Bitch could not believe what was there in front of her eyes, plastered blatantly over her computer monitor. Lies. Surely lies, right? It was a story, in which it was alleged that Kamikaze Kate had kissed some...some nobody! Kate wouldn't do that, right? Of course not!

"What the hell would Kate stand to gain from that?" she asked herself, even her inner monologue now managing to sound about as convincing as a turkey reasoning with a butcher at Thanksgiving. She read it over and over again...each time she did, she felt hatred, although she wasn't able to tell who it was directed at, bubbling and brewing like the proverbial cauldron, boiling and clawing at her brain. And then the page fully loaded...the slow internet had led Cassie to believe this was mere speculation on the part of Culture Uncut; until now.

The photograph flashed up on screen, right in front of her eyes. For a few seconds, she refused to believe it was true.

"No!" Said Cassie's brain as she looked at her worst nightmare...Kate, with her lips on someone else. This no-one was about to steal Kate away from Cassie forever. She looked at Kate closely in the photo, and saw a real desire in her eyes, happiness, pleasure, everything Cassie wanted and longed to see in Kate's eyes when she was with her. "NO! NO! NO!" her inner self repeated over and over, refusing to accept this was happening.

Slowly she stood up from her chair in front of the shiny laptop. She lost her balance ever so slightly, as a dizziness fuelled by anger crept into her, sending her eyes spinning around the room. She lost her footing, and found herself sprawled out on the couch, unable to focus on anything in front of her. She needed to drink something. Coke, water, whiskey, anything, she just needed something as she felt her throat dry out and she felt the tears start to ascend in her eyes.

Stumbling to the kitchenette, still unable to focus on anything, Cassie searched for some liquid, any liquid. She knew that there was a sink here with running water, but she couldn't find it through her mess of tears and confusion. She flailed her arms blindly around the kitchen area as she stumbled into everything around her. Her thumb connected with a glass which had been left on the side of the sink and it dropped to the floor, smashing into a thousand tiny, dangerous shards as it did; the noise of the smash piercing into Cassie's fragile ears as she continued to fight back the tears. She felt her throat constrict. It had been years, but Cassie had long been a sufferer of panic attacks in her younger days. She couldn't remember clearly, but she thought this must have been what they were like. Her breathing was laboured now as she could sense her own windpipe closing, her heart racing, and she felt sure that this was what she had gone through many times as a youngster.

She knew that a cold drink of water would help, she remembered that much; recalled the number of times her mother had cradled her head as she fed her some cold water, and how the panic drained away right there and then.

The problem was...she couldn't find the tap. Desperation kicked in, and Cassie felt the tears of frustration start to flow down her cheeks. She wanted to cry for help, but she knew all of Big Light Show would still be sound asleep in their own bus. Her arms swung around as her eyesight continued to fail her, desperately clawing at every surface, as she felt the beating of her heart, heavy, hard, and fast in her ears.

Finally, Cassie's hand hit something solid, and she grabbed at it. Lifting it in front of her face, she could clearly see that it was a bottle of Jack Daniels. The label was unmistakeable, even through her tear and panic-stricken eyes. She started to twist the black, serrated plastic lid from the neck of the bottle, when a thought crossed into her mind,

"Cassie, no...the baby!" It said. It was the voice of Joey Starzzz, her boyfriend, in her mind, invading her private space. "Please Cassie, don't hurt the baby," his imaginary voice pleaded with her. For a moment, her breathing relaxed, and she thought the panic attack was subsiding…until "she" spoke.

The voice Cassie heard this time belonged to Kamikaze Kate. She would later wonder why her mind was projecting imaginary musings of her loved ones to her at this time...but for the moment, she didn't care, she just knew that they were there.

"Cass, please no! Think of the baby. Don't hurt your baby Cass!" Kamikaze's voice sounded distant, but desperate. However, whilst Joey’s voice had calmed her, Kate's only served to instil a deep rooted rage deep in her brain.

"FUCK YOU!" She was conscious that she shouted it out loud as she suddenly snapped back to reality. The rage had seemingly made the panic attack subside, and Cassie could see clearly again. She breathed heavily for a second, as she leaned on the worktop, attempting to regain balance, attempting to regain strength. She looked down at the bottle caressed by her right hand, and motioned to screw the lid back on, until her eyes caught a glimpse of the laptop screen again, and the tears started once more.

It wasn't until now that Cassie realised the intense power that Kate held over her. She had been convinced that she "loved" the panda eyed rocker in some sense...maybe only sexual, but she had never envisaged that it would come to this...a tearful mess, alone on a tour bus steeped in the unwelcome realisation that her love for Kate was true love. She looked again at the bottle in her hand, and the voices of the pleading lovers, begging her to think of her unborn child, started again.

Brushing away the voices like a feeble, disused cobweb, Cassie lifted the bottle to her wet lips. As the glass made contact with them, she chugged on it, taking the waves of amber fluid down her throat, feeling the slight burn in her oesophagus and relishing the tingling warmth that it was sure to bring. She chugged for what felt like a full minute, relentlessly gulping down mouthful after mouthful of the strong alcohol. When she removed it finally from her lips, Cassie felt her head spin from a lack of oxygen, and she stumbled slightly, before looking at the bottle and seeing that she had just ingested almost three quarters of it in one hate-filled fell swoop. She grinned, looking at Kamikaze Kate's smug face on the computer screen, and smiled, shooting the middle finger at the woman she loved...the woman who she thought had betrayed her.

"Fuck YOU you panda eyed slag....cunt!" she felt the alcohol wash over her brain and immediately knew that she was drunk already. "This fucking baby can fuck off as well! If you're all so bothered about it, why don't you fucking TAKE IT!" She looked at the bottle again, and without a hint of regret, lifted it to her face, momentarily stopping to address her own uterus.

"This is for you. I hope you enjoy it!" She laughed maniacally as she downed the rest of the bottle, and then broke down in tears. Her eyes fixated on the laptop screen once again, and she bawled and bawled, standing pathetically in the middle of the bus floor. She looked once again at Kate kissing Josh Helyer, and she screamed, injuring her throat in the process. As she coughed furiously, she launched the empty bottle at her own laptop, the glass and screen simultaneously shattering as they made a sickening connection, and the dregs of Jack Daniels splattered loudly against the wall behind the (surprisingly still functioning) computer.

Cassie's legs gave way at last, and she fell to the floor, not quite sure if she was crying or coughing. All she knew was that there was blood coming from her mouth now, as a result of her injured throat. Her mind fixated on her love for Kamikaze, and how it was being stripped away by Helyer. This set her off again, and the sobbing grew increasingly louder, uncontrollable, as Cassie lost the plot. She cried and cried for Kate, sporadically even calling out her name, begging her, despite her not even being present, to change her mind.

"Hello? Cassie are you in here? Are you ok?” The voice came at her from miles away, but she knew it wasn't. The door of the bus opened, and Lauren England entered. She could immediately smell alcohol in the bus, and saw the carnage of Cassie's rage before she had even fully ascended the stairs. Then she saw the singer, lying in the middle of the floor, her shoulders lifting and falling at a constant pace as she sobbed harder and harder, not even caring that her arch rival could see her cry.

Lauren walked further into the bus, and as she did, Cassie dragged herself up into a sitting position. She continued to cry, but thrust her arms out in front of her, begging Lauren for a hug. The youngster looked at the drunk bitch, confused, sensing a trap.

"Please..." Cassie's pathetic voice pleaded, "please, I really need a hug.” Lauren wasn't sure why, but she sat beside Cassie, and wrapped her arms round her shoulders, pulling her in tightly as Cassie's drunken, sopping head dropped onto her shoulder, immediately soaking Lauren with tears.

As she comforted her, Lauren peered over Cassie's right shoulder, and saw the cause of all this pain. The computer, despite having a crack in the screen, still displayed the photo of Kamikaze and Helyer, and Lauren knew right then why Cassie was so upset. Then a plan hatched in her ordinarily peaceful mind. She moved a hand slowly to the back of Cassie's head as she comforted her, and grabbed a handful of hair, wrapping it around her hand.

Cassie yelped and tried to pull out of the hug, but Lauren was much stronger than Cassie's alcohol riddled body could hope to fight away from, and they remained in the hugging position as Lauren spoke directly into her ear, quietly, calmly, but with a new-found venom,

"You listen to me you fucking cunt! You don't want the whole world to know about this do you? I don't think you do...so you better be fucking nice to me...or I'll tell everyone. I'll tell them all just how weak you are...how powerless you are when it comes to Kate. Deal?"

Cassie was powerless, she knew that. But the world could not know that, or her career was finished. Reluctantly, and with her hair still tangled around Lauren's tight fist, she nodded, crying again.

"Very good," Lauren laughed to herself. She pulled Cassie's head away from her own shoulder, and stood up, still holding the bitch's hair tightly. As she stared down at Cassie, Lauren laughed at her squirming, crying to get away. Then she spat right in her face, and threw Cassie to the floor, leaving her a mess of tears and sweat sobbing to herself as she left the bus, slamming the door...

----The End---

OOC: I wanted to finish by showing why Cassie is being nice to Lauren now. Hopefully this concludes it well, and hopefully people have enjoyed this tale.
Thanks for reading :p

Ooc: I should say, for time referencing, all of the above ^^ happened before Cassie got with Kamikaze Kate " for real." and about 10 days or so ago...
My other Big Light Show thread is in the present time.

OOC : *cheers* Awesome piece, and an honour to be involved (even in such a bad light). I just don't know what to say really, I could really feel the raw emotion of Cassie coming through. This was a great series and why it hasn't got more people interested is beyond me. This Cassie-skirmish beat mine - the battle is on! (:

OOC: @bikz thanks. Yeah, Cassie is all about the raw emotion these days. She is changing a lot though. Maybe her hormones, I dunno.
@erich hess thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it :) I enjoyed writing it as well, and that evil little twist just popped into my head last night, but I thought it was a good way to make them able to be in a band together, if Lauren hold something over the ultimate bitch.

OOC: I might also bring this back...IF....they get the chance to make an album. Could be a better struggle.
