INTERVIEWHey guys, So how’s it going?Joey: It's going just great!!
Mimi: Yeah, really great.
(Smiles)You’ve been around for a little while now but it seems like things are starting to get huge for you, are you guys surprised at the success?Laurence: Well, yeah, we're so surprised, we just didn't expect all of this.
Mimi: ...And especially when we decided to explore our sound and go into a more electronic genre. We were even scared to lose those few and loyal fans we had. And I have to say that I was to most skeptical about this new genre, but maybe that's because I'm not a big fan of it, but I also have to admit that I'm quite starting to like it lately.
You all seem really close, were you all friends at school before you started the band?Den: Oh, no, we weren't all in one school. When we were younger some of us didn't even know each other! I've been the one who asked everyone to join the band and I was of course the one who already knew everyone already.
Laurence: I've been in the same class of Den at the high school and I already knew Joey.
Den: Yeah and Mimi has been in my class too at the elementary school. As for Tanya I met her on some holidays when I was like... seven or eight years old I think.
You all of course have your nicknames, what do they mean?Mimi: Actually the media invented them. They're basically based on our different personalities and looks. I've been called witch for my look and the way I talk, but I don't think they could come up with anything more creative.
(Laughs)Tanya: To me it's Barbie and that's just because I'm blonde and I look like a doll, or that's what they said. I never liked it at first, but now I'm just making fun of it and that stuff.
Laurence: I've never cared about mine instead. Maybe it's because they were right calling Einstein as the intelligent one?
(laughs)Joey: (Looks at Laurence) Nope, that's just because you were the main producer of the tracks!
(Laughs with him and then looks at Jake) Anyway I am the "Devil" and that's just too right for me! It's because of my fun personality and of course my red hair. And maybe, who knows, it's also because I used to scare them and because I'm hot!
(Laughs again)Den: (Smiles) I am Orange Titan instead and it's for my cheerful and sunny personality... And I am the hot one, Joey!
(Laughs)What are your biggest influences?Laurence: They're all different just like our styles, personalities and everything. I like R&B, Pop stuff and it's all I would do if I was solo, really.
Mimi: I have some big influnces from the old tunes of the past. I love listening to
the old music and sometimes I wish I was born in the 70s or at least the 80s!
Tanya: I like some Pop music like Lady Gaga but I also like listening to Rock Pop and to some good love ballads.
Joey: I listen to lots of R&B, Hip Hop, House and all of these kind of songs.
Den: My iPod is full of Electro Pop music!
How did you feel when Behind Me went to number one?Joey: That was great, man!
Mimi: I couldn't actually believe it.
And then the follow up to that was Memory, it peaked at number 3, do you think this has finally helped you to be recognized as one of the best groups around?Tanya: It did.
Laurence: "Memory" was the perfect song to release after such a big success like "Behind Me".
Den: Yeah, you know, it was a bit like "We have released a Dance tune, now listen to a Ballad"!
Ok, so what are your individual roles in the band?Tanya: No, there aren't. We all write the songs!
Laurence: Yeah, except for the fact that only me and Den produce the songs.
Your current tour is probably your biggest tour so far, how fun is it to be travelling the world and performing in so many different country’s?Joey: It's so much fun!
Den: Yeah and it's like you get to travel the world without paying that much!
(Laughs)I’d imagine that would have an effect on your personal life though, are you all in a relationship now?Den: Just me and Laurence currently. I have a relationship with Lyrica of G2L, while Laurence is married with Coco of Hard Sugar.
Mimi: I was in a relationship too, but it's over because of the tour. But I'm not really sad about it, maybe it was the best thing to do ending it up.
Joey: And I wanna date Isabel!! Yes, Isabel, if you're watching this, I love you!!
(Smiles at the camera, while Tanya shakes her head laughing with the others) Ok, so what is next for Teen Titans, a new album maybe?Laurence: Oh, yes, a new album of course!
Den: And maybe a movie, and...
Mimi: (Covers Den's mouth laughing) Shut up! You promised to not reveal anything!
Den: (Freeing his mouth from her hand and laughing) Ok, ok!
Your fans are known to be a little crazy sometimes, what is the most bizarre thing that’s happen with a fan?Tanya: Uhm...
Joey: That girl in Spain who wanted us to sign her...
Mimi: ...Booty.
(Tries to not laugh with Tanya, while Joey laughs loudly and Laurence smile)And what about current music, who are you all listening to right now?Den: I am listening a lot to some songs from Cinzia Ricci, Black Eyed Peas, ElectroDeath and others! They know how to keep up my good mood, you know!
Mimi: I'm listening to Alicia Lena, Chanel Devine, Hannah Beth, then of course the Beatles and some others.
Tanya: Katy Perry is my favourite now. But I also listen to Glamazon and Brittany Knox.
Joey: Ne-Yo, Dominic Brown and of course Pitbull are my faves now!
Laurence: I'm liking Buzz & Hype currently. They're very good.
Who would you most like to work with someday?Tanya: That's an hard question!
Den: You know, I think we'd like to work with everyone because each one of them could give us some ideas on the song!
Laurence: Yes, we have already one great singer that is going to be featured on a song of the new album. I don't know if people are gonna be surprised or not by that, but they will like it for sure.
And finally, what does the future hold for the Teen Titans?Mimi: (Shakes her head) We have definately no idea. After what happened the last year, we just don't know what to expect!
Joey: Yeah, hopefully Den won't leave us again!
Laurence: (Smiles) Yeah, right.
Den: (Laughing) Oh, no! I'm not gonna leave, I promise!
Performance
The Teen Titans are all smiling at the cheering crowd, while being behind the booms with the microphones on. The instrumental of "Memory" starts playing and Mimi sings the first two verses slowly and softly.
"I would have never thought that
It was so deep
Deeper than the ocean
Deeper than the sky
Oh, baby, this feeling is too much for me now
My life was so full of clouds and storms
And you came in time
Yeah, you were my rainbow
I'm glad you colored my life"
Then Joey joins her on singing the bridge.
"(Mimi & Joey)
You have been now
A part of my life"
So they all sing the chorus together, dancing slowly and standing behind the booms.
"You're in my memory
And I'll remember
For my whole life
'Till I'll die
I won't forget you
I won't forget that love
That we shared
All those times"
After the last line of the chorus, Den sings softly in a low voice the chorus again, while looking at his bandmates, who are still dancing slowly.

"You're in my memory
And I'll remember
For my whole life
'Till I'll die
I won't forget you
I won't forget that love
That we shared
All those times"
As he finishes, they all look down on the floor and the beat of the song starts getting faster. After a few seconds the song changes to "Recognise Me" and the Titans take their microphones off the booms. They start dancing in a synchronized way to the fast dancey beat of the song and the people in the audience scream loud, clapping their hands to the beat.
Joey sings the bridge of the song and as Den surprises everyone singing an higher note than the notes he's used to, he joins the others to sing the rest of chorus, making a new dance routine, in which they turn their heads on the left and on the right at the end of every line.
"Look at me, what do you see
You can't, you won't
Recognise me
Who-ho-ho-ho-hoa
I've become a monster
Your biggest nightmare
Your darkest fear
I'm not gonna forgive ya
And you can't, you won't
Recognise me"
So they all stop and get still. The beat of the song slows down and Den goes in the middle, replacing Joey. And he sings the new verse, indicating with his finger at the end of the second and the third lines and then himself at the end of the last one.
"I will make you understand
Who makes the rules here
Who's gonna lose the game and
You better don't play it with me"
So Tanya goes closer to Den and she sings loudly the bridge looking at him, while he smiles at her.
"Look at me, what do you see
You can't, you won't
Recognise me"
After this, they all look at the audience and they sing the chorus again doing the same dance routine.
"Who-ho-ho-ho-hoa
I've become a monster
Your biggest nightmare
Your darkest fear
I'm not gonna forgive ya
And you can't, you won't recognise me"
The song goes instrumental for a few seconds, while the Titans dance all in different ways, without any specific dance routine. So Laurence sings his verse, except for the last line, which is a pre-recorded robotic voice of him.
"You will forget what I've used to be
And you will escape, you will run away
'Cause you can't, you won't
Recognise me""
The beat stops on the last line of Laurence's verse and plays again in the next two choruses, getting faster and dancier, making the audience cheer, while the Titans do the same dance routines singing.
"Who-ho-ho-ho-hoa
I've become a monster
Your biggest nightmare
Your darkest fear
I'm not gonna forgive ya
And you can't, you won't
Recognise me
Who-ho-ho-ho-hoa
I've become a monster
Your biggest nightmare
Your darkest fear
I'm not gonna forgive ya
And you can't, you won't
Recognise me"
When the song ends, the crowd cheers and screams, while the guys are still in the position of the end of the song, smiling at the people.
