Alex : Raven, this isn't right.
Raven : Damn right it isn't. You should be at home with Kate, not here with me.
Alex : I shouldn't be with Kate. And now I'm bound to her FOREVER, like it or not. Do you know what that feels like?
Raven : No, but ....
Alex : Exactly, and you never will know.
Raven recoils, hurting her back, but the back pain is nothing compared to the below-the-belt blow that Alex's words just gave her.Alex : I'm 16, and it doesn't matter if I stay with Kate or leave her, she'll be there for the rest of my life. You're lucky, Raven.
LUCKY!? Raven wants to scream about how unlucky she is, and how lucky Alex and Kate are, but she just lets him continue.Alex : And there's only one person I trust. That should be my girlfriend. It isn't. It's you.
Alex moves in to kiss Raven. He gets a quick kiss, lasting a few seconds, before Raven pushes him away.Raven : WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?
Alex : Doing what I need to. Let's run away together, Raven, forget about her, forget about everything.
Raven : OK, let's do that, but let's not forget - 1. You're cheating on Kate when she needs you most. 2. We're bandmates, and it would affect the band. 3. You said you'd give your internal organs up to join Moronic Changeling, now you're planning to leave them without a guitarist. 4. You're 16, I'm 25.
5. Been there, done that. 6. I'm in love with someone who isn't you. 7. If anyone saw this - oh, I dread to think.Alex : Does any of that matter?
Raven : It more than matters. So you can trust me, big deal. So we're good friends, though that may be debatable now ....
Alex stares wide-eyed at Raven, his mouth metaphorically dropping to the floor. Have I just lost my friendship with Raven? Why do I always mess things up?
Raven looks at Alex's face, wondering if she went over the top. Of course they'll still be friends, they'll never speak of this again and everything will go swimmingly. She doesn't dare to say anything or even move, after turning her head down to face the floor - but she can still feel his stare drilling into her mind, still feel the discomfort of his lips forcing themselves onto her face, still hear him telling her that she's lucky, the words echoing in her head, when she's never felt so unlucky at any time in the past eight years. If only someone else had been here, someone to talk to, this might not have happened.Edited by user 09 May 2009 05:13:33(UTC)
