"So the hard part is over now right?" he smiled as he heard these words come from Gia's mouth. It was a welcome relief to know that she wanted this to be easy. He had started to believe that she had wanted to make it as difficult as possible for him. Had she just been testing him? Was it to see just how much he really did want to be with her? Whatever it was, he assumed he had passed, and felt quite pleased with himself, but had to try to not look smug.

"Yes, I hope so" he smiled warmly to Gia, finding it almost impossible to keep his eyes off her. He looked deeply into her eyes, before realising that he was just staring.

"Sorry," he said, darting his eyes away, "I was staring there...you're just so beautiful."

It was then he realised that he was still sitting just as far away from her. He cursed himself in his head, and started to nudge closer. For some reason he hoped she wouldn't notice his all too obvious moves to get closer. He moved close enough so that the side of his leg was millimetres from hers, just so that they could sit a little nearer to each other, and then put his arm around her shoulder and attempted to gently pull her in closer to him.

He softly squeezed her shoulder happily, as he felt that everything had happened just.....amazingly for him. Planting a little kiss on top of her head, he heard her ask,

"What now?" she asked him. What did she mean? Whatever it was, he was slightly amused that Gia didn't have the answer to something for once. He was glad that she couldn't see his face from this position, and he allowed himself a wry smile at her being lost for once. It made a change. He had felt like he had been in the dark for weeks. It was all worth it though, everything was fine now.

"Well," he started, "I don't know what you're plans are in Paris to be honest, but it's kinda late, and if you have nowhere to go you could always sleep here?" He quickly moved to clarify that he wasn't trying to be a perv, "I mean....there are no spare bunks, but you can have mine, these sofas are comfy enough for me to sleep on."

He got up from the sofa to move to the bar, brushing his hair back with his fingertips.

"I'd kinda like it if you hung out here for a while anyway, it'd be nice. It's up to you though. Do you want another drink?"

He was glad she agreed to stay here. He felt nervous that she'd asked him to sleep in the same bed, but he didn't know why. They had spent a night together before after all. Now...well now it all just felt a lot more, serious? Was that the right word for it. It was certainly something like that, because he felt the butterflies in his stomach flutter at the thought of them sleeping in the same bed. "It'll be fine" he told himself eventually, allowing himself a sly little smile again. He still couldn't quite believe how lucky he was

As Gia came and stood beside him at the bar he put one hand on each of her hips and pulled her in for a long kiss, after which he smiled longingly into her eyes, and ran his fingers through her hair.

"I almost feel like a groupie or something." She said this, laughing a little and Scott laughed too. He turned around to pick up a beer from the fridge. He could still drink right? That was allowed even if she wasn't having one? He started to answer as he felt his iPhone vibrate in his pocket, a text message. Who from?

He pulled his phone casually from his pocket as he answered her.

"Well I'm not going to say I've never had a groupie in my bus over the ye-" his thought process was interrupted by the text he was reading on his phone. For a few seconds he just stared at the screen, shocked. And then he realised suddenly that Gia....his girlfriend, was still standing in front of him..."Sorry...ummm what? Was I...were you saying something." He felt his cheeks redden as he stuffed the phone back into his pocket.

He hoped she didn't notice.

"How much of a man whore you were?"

"Heh heh", he laughed...but what the hell sort of sound was that? That wasn't his normal laugh, but it was all his nervous, fear riddled body would eject. He couldn't look up, but he was convinced that she hadn't noticed his reaction to the text. He was ok, he got away with it.

He looked up to see her smile, but the smile dropped quickly. He panicked, but he had to try to keep it natural. He played with the label on the beer bottle again, looking down to see his finger nail scratching furiously at the paper.

"Ummmm, yeah...." he tried a laugh again, this one sounding even worse than before. Damn it....stop laughing! "Ummm....I guess I can tell you, it was long ago after all, there used to be a few girls in the Blood of Wecz bus. I may have slept with.....a few...you know...we were all young once. I've changed now though." He hastily added that last bit, and at last looked up into her eyes...

What the hell was she looking at him like that for? Was it the story about the groupies? In a normal situation he'd have kept that to himself, especially around a new girlfriend, but here...he panicked. He didn't want her to know about the text. Surely that wasn't why she was looking at him with that accusatory stare.

"I trust when I ask you this question, you'll give me the honest answer." Oh fuck.....fuck fuck fuck. Please let it be about groupies or women in swome way....I'll answer anything on that. He braced himself, waiting for her question. He gulped and inhaled deeply, trying, and failing miserably to look like nothing was up. He felt a bead of sweat run down his back, and he reached for his sun glasses in his pocket to hide his eyes. No...that'd be too obvious.

"What's up? You've been acting all weird ever since you looked at your phone. Don't tell me nothing because it's obviously something. Plus the fact that you're laughing like your on crack or something doesn't really help either." Fuck. She was looking at him with an intense stare, as if she was trying to suck the truth out of him. Why did this have to happen? They were so happy just two minutes ago. She tapped her finger on her other arm impatiently, as Scott tried for an answer, begging his mind to come up with anything. Then it came to him.

"Ha...it was, you know, Record label business," he started, "You know, about a new band, can't have you finding out who they are...you're a bigger label and you'd steal them heh heh." That was it...now to seal it, make it seem even more real. He leaned in to kiss her.

As Scott kissed her, Gia didn't even move. Didn't even kiss him back. It felt weird, to just kiss a motionless pair of lips. But why? Did she still not believe him? He moved his head back after the one way kiss and did exactly what he told himself not to...deliberately avoided her gaze. The second he dipped his eyes away from hers, he knew she'd know that something was up. He looked up at once, but the cold stare in those beautiful eyes was too much, and his eyes darted away quickly again, like a lovesick schoolboy accidentally catching a girl's gaze across the classroom.

"Yeah well you know. Always wanting the best artists.." He breathed a sigh of relief as he heard this. Gia had believed him after all. Besides that shitty performance he had just given. He watched her as she walked across the bus, fixated on how much he was really into her. It wasn't that he wanted to keep stuff from her. This just felt so special that he didn't want to risk ruining it already. He had tried to hard after all. When Gia sat down on the sofa, Scott, now very much relieved, did the same thing. He sat right beside her this time and snuggled close to her with his arm around her waist. This was the right thing to do.

"Yeah....I guess I'm a shrewd businessman like that..." he began to say, "I can't have you getting my best new bands off to that huge label of yours heh heh" Dammit! Not the laugh again, it stil doesn't work. Then he realised something...his phone was in the pocket of his jeans which was up against the outside of Gia's leg. He had to get it out and put it in his other pocket in case it-

Too late, he felt the buzz of the phone vibrating as he received another text message...

As he felt his phone vibrate, he looked down to his left to see Gia staring up at him. Damn! There was no way she'd believe him this time. Was there?

"Can't your label talk to you some other time?" she said, with a sweet smile on her face, and he felt his chest relax again, she really did believe him. "Or maybe they need to hear it from another voice." He jumped slightly, startled as he saw Gia reach quickly for his pocket, trying to grab his phone before he could stop her. Quickly, he put his hand down and covered the pocket before she could take his phone, panicking that she'd read what was on there.

"What do you think you're doing?" he asked.

As soon as he shot his hand across like that, he knew it was a mistake. Damn! What did he do now? She would know something wasn't right, but was he supposed to do? Let her see it? Yeah..that was not going to happen. The startled look on her face made him feel bad, and for a second, he even felt like reaching into his pocket and giving her the phone. As Gia moved her hand back, Scott just clamped his down further onto his pocket.

"Why can't I see your phone, huh? Are you hiding something from me?" He looked into her eyes. He had to pretend that it wasn't anything....just that he liked his privacy....no, that wouldn't work. She'd just suspect something even more if he said that.

"Umm....no. I'm not. It's like I said...label business. You're technically a business rival..." He said the words, but the commitment was severely lacking in his voice. There was no way she'd buy it again.
