It has been an eventful few weeks for up and coming electronic crunk rocker Nick Palmer. In June he began recording either an album or EP that was going to be titled "Champagne, Bright Lights, and ER Visits" in Miami, Florida where he lives. The first single from that album was released on July 26th thru Studio60 Records where Palmer is signed. However a few days before the single was released he was reported to have stormed out of the studio on the day that everything was going to be finished. Eyewitnesses described Palmer as "Angry and possibly dangerous to himself or others".

Then after being missing for several days Nick turned up in the middle of nowhere in Colorado. "I just started driving west to LA because I didn't really know what to do. I stopped in the bar in Denver and you can guess the rest of the story". Palmer described this situation as "slightly like hitting rock bottom. I have been calmer and more in my right mind since the incident".

Fast forward a couple of weeks and Palmer announced that was "Starting from scratch. I'll be in LA recording mostly new songs and re-recording a few for my debut album". A few days ago Palmer entered what he described as "An intense recording session that will end when I'm happy with the tracks", adding "I will sleep when the project is done".

Nick brought along his brother Grant Palmer to produce the album. "Back in Florida I felt crowded and overwhelmed. I think the result was that the songs ended up overdone and lacking the rawness I wanted," says Palmer. "This time it's just going to be me and Grant in the studio". When asked about the project Grant said that it "Is going to be better than anything we came up with in Florida. The new songs are fantastic, and I think the album will have a great sense of unpredictability".

Nick Palmer: Right now we are working as hard as we can on a song called "Breakout". We've just gotten started, but I think it will turn out to be one of my favorite songs. It's really quite kickass and I could imagine hearing it on the radio being played nonstop. It definitely is going to be one to watch out for as a future single.

Grant Palmer: So far everything is turning out ok. We've been working vigorously on one song in particular that Nick mentioned. We listened to what we have of it so far and we both just sat for a moment in awe. If we can match the level of this song on the rest of the album then it will probably turn out to be quite fantastic.

The album currently is untitled and any release date probably wont be announced for awhile. Nick only says that "Once everything is finished I'm not going to let the album sit around for a month before it hits stores. As soon as my job is done I will have a new job of making sure its out ASAP. Infact it's quite possible it will be available as a digital download as soon as it is done".
