thought i'd let every one know check here for the new album details. can't explain how excited we are about returning. been hiding for so long and we are rising from the surface every day as we get closer and closer to summers end. tour to be up soon. have a new image for the band as we are now trying to go for an image that suites our name. don't know how long the gas masks image will last but we love it and think it will be different for us to perform this way as it fits into the new album. we will be releasing a live album before the end of the year. okay, i'm talking wayyyyyyyyy to much.

08/10/11: just got done rehearsing for the tour. got to see how our stage will look for the tour looks fucking awesome! we have totally accomplished what we visioned. the album was also influence by the movie Southland Tales. america isn't gonna know what hit them when this album comes out. it's everything we hoped for. we wanna do another record after this one is out. vincent did want to put the bunker18 album out that he never got to las year and i did want to do another solo record but we have decided to put that on hold. we don't know what we're aiming for on the next album but you see that is the thing. we never do, we go in and jam together and go with whatever sound we have that we like and basically just go with the flow. then i come in with the lyrics and we have our direction. we have wrote one song called 'Black & Bitter' that is different. more of an ambient mixed with our sound. we also have another song we aren't done with yet so far called 'Guilty'. enough of that though we're focusing on the new album coming out until it's released.

in other news the 3rd volume of the b-sides has gone platinum. thanks to every one who has helped me and this band out through the years. i started a new band and we have indeed found success through every album. we always try to out do ourselves and not to sound like an asshole but we have done a very great job. i miss casting thin shadows but ever since 'Rx' came out i have had more fun being in this band and did not expect to after the shit i went through with my old band. once again thanks to everyone.

we're impatient so we said fuck it and decided to release the first single 'Failing' early. why? 'cause we're on our own label and don't have to go by certain release dates which i love about having your own label. plus we've been gone for way to long so every one deserves to hear this before the tour starts.

the lyrics are about the every day failing of the u.s. economy and the prediction of this country going down hill. it also ties in with the album so well as you know the album is about the aftermath of an atomic bomb that destroys all countries and such and having to start from scratch. you know they have bunkers and shit already made for the end of the world so what happens after all this goes down and you come out from the underground into the surface? that's what the whole album is about. it isn't a concept album but it deals with this idea.

we are going to do one more album after 'To The Surface' then we will release an e.p. of unreleased material. we plan on releasing a double disc live album and a remix album in the future. after that quarantine will officially be over. sorry but we've done what we wanted to do. plus vincent is going to be able to focus on bunker18 i might release another solo album. we appreciate everything everyone has said to us and helped us out through a lot. especially to the fans. this is our last act and after that we will go on to new things. colin isn't being cheated out by just being a new member of this band then the band quitting. he knew about this plus he has been our touring keyboardist since 'Rx'. sorry to disappoint everyone but it is what it is.

the album isn't a concept album but plays kinda like one. the main focus of each and every song is about if the whole world was blown to bits by a nucleur war and while it was going on people were prepared by going underneath inside bunkers and how does life go on when it's over with? when people come from the surface and see every thing gone. hope is lost, not only that but having to start over from nothing. so this album plays like that. lazarus is about coming out from the surface. song for eddington is about starting over. blackout is about remembering the last thing that happened when the war was going on, the radiation is about all of the creatures that survived that have now evolved from radiation, beneath the sorrow ground is about being trapped under for so long, failing is about not knowing where to start from scratch, heat death is about surviving in a new world with wild animals that you have no clue about since the radiation, maxwell's demon is about who to blame for the war, arrow of time is about finding a way to start over, my own comatose really doesn't fit into the story because this song was written for jakey comatose and where ever he is at that he is missed.

so basically this album is a tribute to jakey comatose. where ever you are man, you surely are missed by all of us...


we're writing another album already. it might be our last or the one afterward will be our last we don't know. we want to name the next album 'Swansongs' but also we want to write an album based on aliens, and conspirancies from area 51. we haven't made our mind up yet but we have three songs written so far and when we get about 5 or 6 written we'll most likely have which direction we are going for. also if we don't release it before the next studio albums we will release a live double disc cd/dvd of rising from the surface world tour cause we have our stage set up on this tour based on the album and it is out of this world how we are performing the new songs on this tour.
