It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away. Tooouuuccchh me, take me to that other place. Teeaacch me, I know I'm not a hopeless case. Eric Quillington isn't letting anything get away, so he decides to take in the weather. He heads outside and meets up with the man, the smith, the legend.

The shock of seeing his friend throw away his precious cigarettes sends Eric into near-shock. After a moment, his pessimism returns; Jason'll simply have to buy more later, and will later curse this decision to throw them off a damn cliff. However, he decides not to ruin his friend's special day;
Eric: Erm... good move. Nothing like pollution to add to the natural beauty of the world, huh? I must admit, though; you were awfully quiet last night when you and Layla... y'know. So, thank you for being so considerate, I'm glad the noise didn't wake me up.
He has come to the conclusion that Jason's incredibly good mood is the result of steamy fornication. |

So, that might've implied that Jason had sex. On the other hand, maybe there are other things going on. By this point, Eric is beginning to seriously wonder if Jason is on an amazing hallucinogenic. That might be too obvious, though. Of course, he still hasn't ruled out pixie dust. His happiness couldn't just be because the place is beautiful; nothing is that simple in life.
Eric: Right. A cliff is so beautiful. Just look at the bottom; sharp rocks, perfect for brutal execution. Y'know, in the old days, they used to sacrifice people to the gods. They also sacrificed people who showed signs of demonic possession. Extreme emotion is one such sign. Although it's rare, I'm pretty sure unusual, intense euphoria is in the category. |

His confusion only increases when he sees that Scott is also in an alarmingly good mood. He resists the temptation to blow smoke in Jason's face once he takes the cigarette. He doesn't know why he accepted one, however; he's only smoked about two times in his life. It only takes a few mere seconds before he begins coughing and crying.

It's around this time that Eric realizes why he can't understand Jason and Scott's happiness; he's in a fairly shitty mood. He's not sure whether it's because of the feelings of laziness, as it'd been quite a while since Infinite had released anything, or just lonelyness. Still, always being one to hate complaining, he quickly sucks it up.
Eric: I have a fairly good map of the rest of my life, oddly enough. And it sounds like it'll be a fantastic life. I think the only thing you will regret, Mr. Smith, is shaving off the fuzz. |

Eric: I dunno, just feel kinda useless. It's been too long since Infinite's done anything important, so I'm starting to think that I've fallen guilty of the rock-star trap; soaking up the praise without attempting to live up to it. Plus, I'm the only person on the bus without my girlfriend nearby, so I feel all unloved.
