Aren't you a little old for Harry Potter Stephanie? =P

Seriously though, I could never get into the books or the movies. Always seemed like Beverly Hills 90210 drama meets Dungeons & Dragons.

I saw the first two, and basically found them a bit rubbish. Guess I'm too old or something.

A better explanation is that I found the story more than a little childish. Also, some contrived drama. For example, in the first one, they have to play a lifesize chess game to pass into the next room, and that red head guy I forgot the name of, he supposedly was nearly killed when his piece was taken - despite the fact that nobody told them they had to actually hang on to their chess pieces they stood there watching. That and the ridiculous ballgame they play, where they play one game a year and Harry wins the game for his team, because the other team are dirty cheaters. Call me a cynic, but I've never been a fan.

I did hear the movies get better as they go, though I also heard that the books got worse.

christ.... i must be as old as the hills then....

i really really can not stand harry potter.... Why does rubbish fantasy drivel like this always do well and get made into film leaving excellent series like George R.R Martin and steven Erickson in the wild?

Harry Potter films (& books) are harmless fun fantasy schlock. It's great.

I only read it because the first book was lying around the house once, I picked it up, sat down and had it read that same evening. Go into it with no expectations like I did and just be pleasantly surprised. Was it the finest prose in the world? Clearly not, it's a kid book. But it's damn fun, and I'm looking forward to the point in a couple of years when I can come back and read all 7 books again.

Seconded.
I even sent "him" a letter a couple of years ago just to get an "autographed" picture.

The first two movies were very childish, but the later ones got realy dark and less Disney feeling to them. Should check them out!

Song of Ice and Fire just got picked up for a 2 video game deal. And Martin is supposed to be collaborating on the development.

Secounded.
The deep sex bit was really not needed. But, on the subject of people we find attractive (would shag) -

Lucy Pinder
Keely Hazel
Kelly Brooke
Megan Fox

Oh yeah. :)

EDIT: Oh, and daniels a shit actor. Ron? thats where the shits at ;) - as well as the sex part.

I would want none of the Harry Potter cast to be fair :|

But a slightly more on-topic-and-less-sordid note

I had a mixed view of how to anticipate the film. But I'm not exactly eagerly waiting for it.
