Scott H (birth name unknown, born Edinburgh, Scotland, April 11th 1982) is a Scottish songwriter, musician and singer who is best known for his time as frontman of legendary death metal band Blood of Wecz, and as the original lead guitarist in new wave punk icons Sanitary Towel. A high school drop out who focused fiercely on his music in his early days, H is revered for his versatility, moving from punk to death metal and even pop throughout his career. His biggest claim to fame however comes in the form of a "reincarnation" earlier this year, when he was revealed to have faked his own death last year. H is now a member of the reformed Sanitary Towel, as well as a solo artist, and owner of the successful Chaos Records and Chaos Awards.

Early Life

H was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, to two very professional parents. His father was a successful dentist, and his mother the headmistress at a rather illustrious boarding school in the capital. They both had high hopes for their first born, but he didn't turn out quite as they planned. Despite being a very bright youngster, Scott was enamoured with playing guitar from the age of 7. Despite his father being a classically trained pianist, he agreed to let his son learn acoustic guitar, as long as his teacher, Dave Austin, taught him only classical guitar. From the age of around 10 though, Austin would secretly teach Scott songs by grunge bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, and funk rock act the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Despite being an honours student during his early years of high school, H would unceremoniously refuse to return after the summer of 1996. Despite being only 14, he and school mate D.P, later known as Turtle, would walk out of the doors of the school and never return, citing a future in music as their only way forward.

Career

Early years (1996-1997)

When H and D.P left school in 1996, they immediately set about finding a band for themselves. Starting out as a cover band called Vultures and Carnivores, they would tour Irish pubs and clubs with their older friend Hilton, playing songs by Dropkick Murphy's and other punk acts. The money would soon become a problem for the band though, and the peanuts they were being paid by bars was not enough to tide them over. In December of that year, they would fire drummer Lisa Riggs, replacing her instead with Ally M, and deciding to move away from the covers scene which had brought them limited success.

Sanitary Towel (1997-1999)

With the recruitment of Ally H on drums, and D.P. changing his name (by deed poll) allegedly, to Turtle, Vultures and Carnivores decided a name change was in order. The name Sanitary Towel quickly became the band's new monicker, because, as Turtle would later say "People really don't want to talk about periods...it's fun to make them talk about periods by using this name you know?"

Sanitary Towel wasted no time in getting a name for themselves in the music industry, and quickly released a demo of their Irish influenced, post punk/hardcore sound, which got rave reviews in fanzines and underground mags. Within a few months of the name change, they were signed to Genocidal Records, an up and coming record label which vowed to send them to the top, and it did.

Scott H had joined a band that were set to become tru cult heroes. Joined by "Turtle" on lead vocals, and "Hilton" on bass, as well as "Ally" on drums, along with another few misc members, Scott was to develop the persona of S.H. a mental lead guitarist who would run around the stage and really get the crowd going...the band were an immediate hit, and won so many fans straight away with their lively gigs and OTT stage presences.

Sanitary Towel's debut album The Bleeding was to recieve massive acclaim from the extreme punk fraternity, earning the band places on various festivals and elevating them to a cult status. The album went mutli platinum in many countries across the world and achieved a legendary status

Sanitary Towel would spend the next year touring frantically, before they returned with their biggest contribution of all, the creation of a charity built purely for charity, Chaos For Cancer. Chaos For Cancer was a music festival which ran in three consecutive summers and attracted some of the biggest names in the industry...with the first ever Chaos featuring legenday artists such as MY FREAKY VALENTINE, FATHOM, SKULLKRUSHER, THUNDERWOLF, amongst many many others. The first band to ever take to the Chaos stage were Sanitary Towel themselves.

The festival was such a huge hit that plans to extend it were drawn up and it had been planned as a Live Aid style multi venue simultaneous event....sadly this never happened as the band became caught up in various different pieces of stuff, and the Chaos festival slowly withered away, having made well over £500,000,000 for charity in it's three years of existence.

The days of fortune were still to come for Sanitary Towel however, and Turtle and Scott went off to write a new album, ready to capitalise on the success that they had achieved from the unprecedented reception they got for The Bleeding.

Following on from their debut, Towel signed a massive deal with Negative Records, which would lead to them struggling to live up to the expectation of a major label debut. Little did the public, or their employers for that matter know, but Sanitary Towel were severely struggling. Band meetings, it was later discovered, were being held in secret locations, to keep away from prying eyes of Negative Records staff, and Turtle and Scott were even reported to have pleaded with other members of Sanitary Towel to give them some ideas for songwriting...just when it looked like the whole thing was drying up however, something was around the corner.

Finally, in the May of that year, a triumphant Sanitary Towel emerged from the shadows of alomost a year in the dark. On May 20th, Sanitary Towel were to release via their website the artwork for Always. Fans hit the website so hard and in such unprecedented levels that it crashed and stayed down for several days. This left thousands unable to see what the new album looked like.

Come May 30th a huge hype had begun to surge for the new ST record. many people queued outside stores for the release the next day, buoyed on by the amazing reviews it had been receiving in previous weeks

It became almost common knowledge soon after that Sanitary Towel were in turmoil behind the scenes, but not before an amazing 14 week stint at number one in the album chart, and (the start of) a huge European Tour.

In July, they set off for Germany with their tails high, and played some amazing shows, night after night wowing audiences in the mainland European continent with huge performances each night. Turtle seemed to be back to himself when they got on stage, but one other guy was causing more of a stir than ever.

Scott H was now the star of the band...and Turtle, the enigmatic frontman didn't like it.

As the tour rolled through France, one night in Cannes was to really signal the beginning of the end for ST. A fan who had won backstage tickets for the gig, reported that she had seen ST enjoying a few beers in the VIP area, before Scott accidentally bumped into Turtle, spilling beer on his back. Before she knew what was happening, Turtle pinned the smaller man against the wall, and was just seconds from knocking him out, when bouncers stepped in and calmed it down. Turtle was heard screaming "Think your the big man do ye?? This was ma band ye wee fanny!" He refused to comment further after this incident was brought up.

For weeks after the press got hold of this info, the speculation was rife surrounding ST. Turtle was quoted amost universally as saying that he was fed up with the limelight, and the common train of thought was that he would leave ST and allow Scott to step in as the frontman he was really turning into.

On the 17th September in Madrid, Spain, as quickly as fame and real power had been given to ST, it was all snatched away. Turtle, now calling himself "Kooz" had called a press conference to take place before the Sanitary Towel concert that night. At the conference he told the music media that it was all over. Sanitary Towel was no more. "Me and my band are pissed off that he was conspiring to leave behind our backs," Kooz spat at the journalists with venom, "so he can just fuck off! I give you my new band (it was Sanitary Towel just without Scott), NOT CALLED MARY"

Not Called Mary, as they were now calling themselves, promptly got on the bus and left Spain, leaving thousands of fans heartbroken, and one guitarist and band member alone on the kerb...Scott cut a dejected figure on MTV2 that night as he tried to explain it all...but bigger things were still to come.

Blood Of Wecz - 1999 - 2010

When Sanitary Towel split up in September of 1999, it didn't take Scott H long to find a new band. School mate Ryan Lee, who had just graduated high school, was eager to try and push himself as a guitarist, and had called Scott straight away. There was really no hanging around from there on in. They formed their band, quickly naming it Blood of Wecz, and holding auditions for other positions.

One month later, Blood of Wecz announced their line up. Scott had dropped his guitar duty, concentrating on lead vocals, and guitar would be played by Ryan Lee and Alex P. Swede Eirik Latvallah joined on bass and exciting Mexican drummer Santi Gomez completed the original Blood of Wecz line up.

Using his contacts in Negative Records, H would manage to secure Wecz a one album conditional deal, as they had yet to prove themselves worthy. They set out to make a debut album without delay.

In January of 2000, Blood of Wecz announced the release of their debut album "Price to Pay", an album which has since gone massively multi platinum around the world, and is often heralded as the best death metal album of all time. Riding high on it's success, BoW embarked on a world tour, with newcomers, and future legends, fAthOm in tow.

From there, BoW would go on to churn out hit after hit after hit, with 10 albums in total being released before the big fall out late in 2009.

Wecz were touring with Trivial, a new band who were making their mark on the scene, when Trivial's lead singer, Justin Markus went missing. Rather than being compassionate, Alex P ran his mouth and tried to kick them off the tour. Scot H tried to calm him on a number of ocassions, before the two had a massive fight, culminating in H firing him on the spot, and kicking him off the tour bus.

Wecz would go on to hire Mark Talley as a replacement, and would release a further 5 albums before they split in the weirdest circumstances.

Their albums, throughout their career, were released by Hot Eye Records, Midnight/Mythic, Spice Records and Negative Records.

GMG - 2007 - 2010

Scott H wanted to be more involved with the business side of music later in his career, and set up the Genocidal Music Group. GMG was a management company which dealt with the best interests of bands, as well as directing them to labels and promoters. Later, they also helped to launch, and owned, a very early incarnation of Chaos Magazine.

GMG disbanded when H "died" in 2010.

Death

In May of 2010, whilst BoW were on a break, Scott H went missing. A few weeks later, Ryan Lee recieved a phone call stating that a body had been found, and asking him to ID it.

In the end, it was confirmed that Scott H had been shot dead on top of a building in Philadelphia. The body was badly mutilated by a bullet wound, but it was still positively ID'ed. The murderer was never brought to justice.

Re-emergence

In late May of 2011, a shock befell the world when Scott H, alongside Raven Storme, re-emerged and revealed that he was very much alive. H confirmed that he had faked his death to escape pressure and all the fall outs that had occured, and had been locked in a room for over a year.

Career Relaunch

In June 2011, it was announced that Scott H would relaunch Sanitary Towel, along with original members Jaroslav Bures and Turtle. The band would begin a world tour with Mind in July, releasing a new single, their first for 12 years, and announcing a new album, to be released in late 2011.

Shortly after their reformation, ST would sign a deal with Studio60 Records, a deal which they would later renege on to sign with Scott's own, newly formed label, Chaos Records. Less than a week later however, H was convinced to re-sign with Studio60, after an emergency meeting with the label's owner, Gia Rose.

Scott H announced on the 23rd August 2011 that he was also set to begin work on a solo album, a multi instrument experimental album, with some prog influences, blending a number of different genres into one.

"What I'll Need"

At long last...Back in the land of the haggis and the kilt...haha, I'm kidding, if you're Scottish, please don't take offence at that. I am also, obviously, Scottish, and I hate all that tartan bullshit. However, the fact remains, I am HOME! It has been a long time, but at last, Scott H is back in Edinburgh. Haven't been here for, wow must be three years. The house was a tad dusty to say the least haha.
Anyway, some pap snapped a photo of me at the airport today, so I posted it up ^^ yonder for you chaps to enjoy. Don't I look lovely? Haha. The first official photo of the triumphant returning Scot in his home city. Check me out, getting way above my station.
Anyway, I better get on with it.

This is just a short post, I just want to get started and get that which I need behind me. In case anyone missed the subtle hint in my bio earlier, I have decided that I'm going to do a wanky, arty, proggy, experimenty solo album. I have rooms full of instruments at home here, and thankfully I have the skills to play them all. So, I decided, why not just see what I can come up with. I'm gonna just play around with sounds, vocals, time patterns, everything, and see what happens...it might be amazing or shite, but it'll be my debut solo album. Haha, has anyone's 18th album ever been a debut before? Who knows, I'm excited though!
What can you expect? It's not gonna be metal...well not totally. It may have metal parts, but it'll also have rock parts, acoustic parts, dance parts, pop parts, dubstep, the lot. Who knows...

Anyway, I guess I better list what I need. If anyone can help with any of these things, then please get in touch (OOC: PM):

- A female vocalist (just to do little bits and pieces here and there, nothing too much).
- A co-producer (anyone from any genre..it adds uniqueness to everything that a different producer touches).
- An epic guitar solo sample (just to stick somewhere in a song...an already famous solo would be cool).
- A drummer (it's the only thing I'm not totally comfortable with).
