So the World cup is just round the corner. Time for predictions methinks..... will the all blacks finally fullfil their potential and win the cup for the first time since its inception in 87 and of course the last time New Zealand hosted...
will the Aussies crush all before them?
will the springboks be the first team to ever win the trophy twice back to back?
will England make it three final appearences in a row and maybe lift the cup for the second time?
or will France play with the charm and skill they are world famous for and crush all the big names this time round instead of simply most of them!

so... Personally i would love to see England in the final, and i think we might make it.... but i don't think we will win overall, i think its the year of the all blacks... too much to prove on home soil to not do it really, they are in the same pool as france, so don't need to worry about being beaten by them this time round... i do however think france are going to have a hard time qualifying what with Canada and Tonga being in the same group as both NZ and France....
and as for our group.... Argentina and Scotland.... gah, also Georgia.... a brutal physical team and group... but i think we will come out of it, hopefully with that killer edge you need to make it as well.
would love to see Wales crash out at the group stages again, and it might happen with both fiji and the boks in their group... i do like fiji....
and i feel sorry for italy... no chance against the aussies and Ireland... maybe next time...

I have a sneaky feeling the Irish will surprise us all this year. Watch this space.

Ireland.... a team currently ranked below Scotland... who were outclassed by a French B side last month...

it might spur them to do better, but im not so sure...

It won't be won by a northern hemisphere team.

Yeah, I'm well ballsy with my predictions

England should walk through their group, but with any English national sports teams (mainly the footie team) they tend to build us up to break us down. I'd love to see them win the cup just for bragging rights against all the Welsh people at my school (which is pretty much everyone but me). I can't see Wales progressing past the groups in all honesty. But I can only see New Zealand winning.

Honestly, you've really underestimated Argentina. If they top our group I'd not be totally shocked.

But Scotland will top it, never fear Dancing

jesus you underestimate the puma's scotland and georgia.... and i think romania round off our group as well.... its a fekkin horrible group to be in mate... you have three teams there who all made it to the quarter finals last time round, Scotland are a lot better than they were five or six years ago, robinson has worked wonders with them...

we will win, but walk through? naa, it will be a tough group to come out on top from.

They say there are three certain things in life...birth, death and taxes. Add a fourth...the All Blacks finding another way to choke at a tournament they really should win every time it rolls around. I don't call them the 3rd Blacks for nothing.

I am not sure really. You'd thinkthe All Craps should win it, the Saffers have been a bit wonky lately (average Tri Nations just gone), Australia have a chance but need to improve a fair bit more. Would be funny though if the Aussies faced off the All Blacks and beat them in the final, given that Robbie Deans himself is a Kiwi. Well...i think it would be funny anyway...

so.... who is the greatest rugby player to have never won the world cup?
obvious starting point is Jonah Lomu... but who else is in the running?

good opening match overall i reckon... great first half by the all blacks then a good resurgence by tonga which gave them a worthy try.... some amazing running and long passes overall from the All Blacks, will be nice to see what happens when they come up against a team that doesn't giift them the gaps that Tonga did though..

can't say im used to drinking at nine in te morning yet though... hope to do better tomorrow! 2am for the wales game... 7am for the france game and 9 for england

England are just doing all the basics wrong.
If this was my team playing, my coach would have been abusing us for:
- going into contact unsupported
- continually playing hospital balls
- slowing down before contact
- being still when receiving the ball

And that is just to name a few -_-

yup, we gave away far to many penalties, especially for needless things... thank god the kicking was terrible all round or we would have been screwed!

but some nice running, great defensive work all round and most importantly a win...

and hey.. we're not as bad at te start as we were four years ago! (theres always a bright side)

I slept through our match despite intending to stay up, but I think losing 24 points to Romania speaks volumes. However, we got the bonus point and the win, so they can put that behind them and look forward now.

yeah Romania did very well, some nice rugby being played all round... some amazing try's by Scotland though... deserve the five points..

Ireland won which i predicted but they were far from convincing. I still am going to stay with my opening prediction/wager that they will win (I had good odds :P). I do like them as a unit, and on their day they CAN play.

Was really impressed with Argentina, didn't think they deserved to lose and Wales we're very unlucky also.

I have a feeling its going to be won be the locals this year though. New Zealand are looking confident and are using the host advantage to a great effect.

The same could be said of NZ playing in Australia...every third person is a sheep shagging Kiwi working as a scaffolder.
