(OOC: Like most of my RPs this will take awhile to be complete. It will take several posts and hopefully I wont be overloaded on homework this week so I can post more during the week)

9/11/11 - 10:40 PM - Sheraton Hotel
A police officer stands outside a hotel room in the Denver, Colorado Sheraton hotel. The number in the door reads 218. Past the police officer and inside the room it was clean. It wasn't the trashed hotel room that might be expected from a rockstar. THe room had an eerie empty feeling. No one was speaking. The kitchen and bathroom areas of the hotel room were empty. There was a tour security guard sitting on one of the beds, and two more police officers in the corner. On the other bed sat Matt Collins. Their eyes and ears were both fixed on the TV.

Billie Beckett
A photo was being shown and a woman was speaking in a somber tone. "We are just receiving more news of this developing story from the entertainment industry. Billie Beckett the lead singer of the band Reported Failure was hospitalized about 30 minutes ago. He was found collapsed in his hotel room at 10 o'clock this evening. He has reportedly overdosed on lithium which is commonly used to treat bipolar disorder, a disorder that Beckett himself does not have. There is no word yet on his condition. We will keep you updated on more information as soon as we have it".

Matt looked around. He wanted to be at the hospital, but circumstances made that impossible. He glanced at the officers in the corner. Matt's yellow pill bottle was bagged up for evidence. He was shaking. He could barely handle the terrifying events that had unfolded over the past couple of days...

He tried not to think about any of it, but everything was overwhelming. He grabbed his phone and frantically dialed.
"Hey...," came the answer.
"Vin, what is going on down there?," responded Matt.
"Nothing new. No one will tell us how he is. We don't know anything more than you do. What about at the hotel. Has anything happened?".
"Nothing yet, and I sure hope it stays that way."
"So do I. Just the thought of losing anyone is tearing me to pieces".
Through the phone Vin Peters heard a silence. Then he heard shouting. There were some banging sounds. He swore he could hear gunshots. Then more commotion. Then the call ended...

OOC: Make note of the dates. Otherwise this RP will make no sense to you. This is the other part that I have done right now. I might have more in a couple of days. I would post the next part now but I stayed up far too late lastnight writing the first part.

9/13/01 to 9/18/01 - Sacramento, California

Billie had sunk into isolation. He didn't speak. He didn't write. His instruments lay in the corner untouched for the past two days. He remembered the last phone conversation he had had with his dad before he had gone to work for the last time on that horrible Tuesday morning. He didn't imagine recovering. He sat for hours. Hours just laying on his bed.

It was 2 am. He had slept off and on since returning from school that day. His homework lay undone in his backpack. He sat up and looked around his room. The posessions that he used to value seemed meaningless. He sat for an hour. He couldn't slep. He couldn't think. He could only grieve.

Billie remained in this state for many days. Slowly he began going back to his normal routine. For several days he went about his life with a sort of numbness. He didn't think about what had happened. If his sister or his mom tried to talk about it then he would leave the room. If people at his school stried to talk about it he would block them out. He still had some sleepless nights. Finally he was in his room. THe windows were all open. Wind blew freely through his house. It picked up. His notebook flew off of his self.

Billie picked it up. He felt the cover. Slowly he considered what he could do and ultimately decided to open it up. he looked through it. At every song he had ever written. At every thought that had ever occured to him. Every single expressive piece of writing that had ever flown out of his pen. He read. Then he read again. And finally tears began to fall off of his cheeks.

He ripped it up. He tore, and stretched, and crumpled, and tossed every piece of paper. In a fit of anger he ripped the binding in two. He kept ripping, tearing, crumpling, and throwing until he physically couldn't anymore. His room was littered with the remains of the notebook. Littered with what used to be years of memories. He remembered all of the broken guitar strings, the times he lost his voice, and every time he had called his sister in to give an honest opinion. The tears drenched his face now.

Slowly he cleaned up the mess. The pages were beyond recovery. He felt horrible. He drank a glassfull of water and began to try and reconnect the pieces of his life. The denial, and grief had worn off. The fit of anger had passed. Billie found some paper and a pen. He retreated to his room, picked up his guitar and began to play...

(OOC: More later this weekend. Hope you're all enjoying it)

12/11/08 - Seattle, Washington

The tour bus was slowing to a top outside of El Corazon in Seattle. Billie, Matt, Vin, and Adam all got out. They were massively excited. Finally they were out on a real tour. They read the words "Reported Failure" out loud from the sign on the front of the building. They carried their instruments inside the back enterance and nervously awaited the first gig of the tour.

It was 8:00 PM and Reported Failure had just begun their set. They felt slightly awkward. At every other gig they had ever played they would look out and half of the crowd would be people they had known for a long time. All of the faces were unfamiliar. In the front people were respectfully listening to Reported Failure and their bitter pop-punk angsty tunes. Behind the club was mostly empty. The headliner wouldn't be playing for quite awhile. People were walking around and paying little attention to the inexperienced band.

They were playing with high energy, and passion, and their songs weren't horrible either. Half of the people didn't seem to mind them. Billie suddenly saw a face in the crowd. Her eyes were a seductive brown color. She was staring attentively back at Billie. Suddenly he wasn't nervous about this gig anymore. He let loose as if he were old friends with everyone watching, and in some strange way he felt like he had known the people watching him for a long time. The gig went fantastically.

Afterwards Billie and the rest of Reported Failure headed to the merch table to sign CDs. Things were going very well. Their merch guy told them that they had already sold a lot of copies of their demos. They signed and talked to people while the next act started to play. Then Billie saw her. The brown eyed girl was coming to buy a CD. THey began talking.

Her name was Sarah. She bought a CD and Billie, Matt, Vin, and Adam all signed it. Billie and Sarah started by talking about music. Their conversation slowly evolved. They made their way to a table in the back of the club. Billie felt again as if he had known her for a long time. Eventually the headliner came on and finished. Sarah and Billie listened and talked from the back. They were missing a great show, but they didn't care.

As El Corazon closed they walked the streets. Seattle was dark and slightly eerie. It was a cold November night. Most places were closed. Sarah had driven out to the city with some friends. She got hold of them finally. It was after midnight. Having nowhere to go until morning, Billie went with.

The house he went to was a little bit small. Four of her friends plus Billie and Sarah piled inside. after phoning Vin so that his bandmates knew he wasn't dead, Billie returned to everyone else. They enjoyed conversation over a few beers. Billie was subjected to a certain degree of interrogation about Reported Failure, but he didn't mind. They all sat in semi-darkness for some time. Finally the time came, and Billie and Sarah climbed the stairs up to one of the house's bedrooms...

1/16/11 - Seattle Washington

Everything was different. Billie beckett saw the same city he had known for such a long time. What used to be home now seemed foreign and empty. He tried to think back at how everything he knew had gone wrong. From atop the rooftop he tried to think. What had happened? What path had led to this? Was he just doomed to this type of end? Or was it his own actions that had led to this tragic end of his story?

First there was his dysfunctional childhood and adolescents. His dad who tried to care about him only too late. His mother who expected his sister to raise him alone. Then there was his failed attempts at a happy relationship. He and Sarah had been together for a long time. Then last summer Billie remembered how it had all fallen apart.

They had lost balance. Functioning as a full time frontman for a band and keeping a relationship alive was too much at the time. Ironically after everything fell apart it caused Billie to leave Reported Failure and settle down. He had left to record his own album documenting the whole relationship. He told himself he was over it and believed he was. Then he had run into Sarah with the one year onld son that Billie didn't know and engagement ring on her finger. It was too much.

All of it for nothing. Billie had no purpose. He barely slept. He barely ate. An unemployed artist alone with his thoughts and demons. He say no way out. As he stood looking out at the city his condition remained the same. He was alone with his thoughts and his demons.

He twitched. He felt strange. He realized all of the sudden that his phone was ringing. It was an interuption. Billie wasn't sure if it was a good interuption or not. It wasn't a number he recognized. Billie didn't answer. But as he hung up he saw his phone background. It hadn't been changed in a long time. It was a picture of a massive sign. It was somewhere overseas. Billie couldn't remember where. Maybe England or Australia? He couldn't remember. "Tonight: Reported Failure and The Disarmed Tour" read the sign. Infront of it Billie, Matt, Vin and Adam were all making some sort of stupidly excited face.

Billie left the rooftop. He knew where he was going. The record store he went to wasn't the best in seattle, but it was the closest to where he was. He kept walking. He walked around to find all of his old favorites, and anything new that he had heard about. By the time he rached the R section he had quite a stack of CDs.

Here there were a couple of kids looking around. They could have been fifteen. They were talking quietly. "Reported Failure... It's a shame they broke up," said one of the kids. "They were alright. I guess they're singer had a breakdown or something. Let's go. There's nothing good in this section", said the other. Billie watched them leave not knowing what to think. He picked up the copy of Disarm that the kids had been handling. With a sigh he put it down and moved on.

After awhile Billie had a tremendous amount of CDs. THe sun was starting to set. He got out his wallet and went over to the counter to pay. He payed the clerk after chatting for about thirty seconds about one of his purchases. He heard the door open while he was paying. He went to leave and he dropped his bag. "Matt?", he said...

9/10/11 - Denver, Colorado - Sheraton Hotel Room 218

The sun rose. It was a new day for Reported Failure. A day that was bound to be full of relaxing, maybe some phone or radio interviews until it was time to play the show. The show would be full of screaming fans, guitar solos, crowdsurfing, and no doubt a grand time. If only things worked that simply.

Reported Failure had gotten back together, released a platinum selling album, and were on their first US tour in over a year. Since April each day had gone more or less that way. They had maybe done some sort of event or interview before playing a fantastic gig. This day, however would threaten the good times.

This day began back in California. Haley Beckett had landed a job as a Realtor. She began her normal morning commute from the suburbs where she lived to her office. At the same time a man was running very late to a busy job. He was trying to make it to work ontime while making the important phonecalls that he had forgotten to make. He wasn't paying any attention to the road he was driving on. By the time he realized he was swerving it was too late, he had already rammed his car into the side of Haley's.

Billie wouldn't hear about this tragic accident until after the gig. When he did it was devastating. All that Billie knew as family had deteriorated over the years. Now most of the people he cared about were gone. He didn't know what to do, or how to cope with this latest disaster that had come upon him.

But back in Denver before the gig, the events that Reported Failure were more aware of were beginning to unfold. It started with a note. It was slipped under the door of the room where Vin and Matt were staying at around 10 am. THe band was out for breakfast at the time. Vin and Matt came back to find the note addressed to Matt in the doorway. They looked at eachother.

With a shrug Matt picked it up. He opened it carefully and began to read. Vin watched Matt's face as he dropped the paper in shock. "What is it?", Vin asked. Matt didn't respond. He just started at the paper that was now lying on the ground. Vin looked at Matt curiously, and then picked up the note and began to read.

"Dear Mr. Collins", it read. "You do not know who I am, but I have followed you and your 'band' for some time. It is my duty to rid the world of your filth. I wont tolerate you plugging propaganda into the minds of the world's youth. You wont know when, but soon I will strike. Maybe while you're playing, or maybe while you are not. Soon I will come and that will be the end of you".

Two Weeks Later...

A Frank Message from Billie Beckett:

Quote:
It has been two weeks since the lives of everyone in Reported Failure were turned upside down. As a fan I'm sure you've been terribly worried. Allow me to explain exactly what happened.

First Matt got a death threat. It was terrifying. We played the gig that night. Nothing happened but still we were nervous about continuing on the rest of the tour. It was that night that problems in my personal life (The death of my sister) pushed me over the edge.

It is true that the next day I stole Matt's meds and overdosed on them. This happened at the same time that our road crew thought they saw someone outside the hotel acting suspicious. The cops showed up to gather evidence about my suicide attempt. When the shooter arrived he ambushed the cop standing at the door and forced his way inside. He immediately fired two shots. One missed and the other hit Matt in the arm. He was shot down by the cops. In a strange way Matt thinks that I may have saved his life by trying to end mine.

At the hospital the doctors managed to save my life. Since I have spent two weeks in recovery. Playing more music is a lot cheaper and more affective than a shrink. I will turn to my career in this time of personal hardship. I think I'm going to be ok. I'm a lot better than I was two weeks ago. In the end I'll have to figure out my personal demons.

As far as Reported Failure, we are still very much in business. We found that under the circumstances we wanted to add a new member to the band. You can check all of that out on the website. On a final note, Matt Collins is expected to make a speedy recovery through physical therapy.
