Some of you MUST watch American Football if so, who do you like?

I like the Ravens and I quite enjoyed watching the defeat of the Steelers. Well that's an understatement. I'm still watching that game two days after the fact.

I'm a Saints fan myself and Atlanta Falcons, and Steelers.

Falcons and Saints are respectable. Steelers are too, I just hate them because of BALTIMORE.

Hand-Egg? Meh, call it whatever you want to. It's fun to play and fun to watch.

Yes Rince, we've noticed, you mention prefering rugby anytime anyone mentions a sport :p

Green Bay Packers fan here. Started following when Mike Sherman was GM. Fuck he was awful & should never have been allowed the dual GM/Coach role. Delighted to see our opening performance. Special teams coverage was hopeless though, we should have at least started to improve it by now, it's been our weak point for years.

I completely feel you on Special Teams Coverage. Our Special Teams unit was controlled by Matt Stover, his loss a few years back has murdered our ST squad.

Passing though if right like mike. Joe Flacco is going to murder the opposition. We threw away Rapistburger and the train ain't stopping.

Yesss! I was hoping their was an NFL thread.

I am a huge Seahawks fan. I am also, a realistic fan. We will not get to the play-offs as easy as we did last year, the 49ers and Rams both strengthened well in the off-season and Bradford is starting to show real class for the Rams. As bad as this sounds, but the best case scenario for Seahawks this year is to finish bottom and get first round draft pick. With Andrew Luck becoming available next draft, he will be the top pick QB. Seahawks are in desperate need for a QB unless Jackson can hit the ground running which is looking unlikely due to our poor Offensive line. Andrew Luck will be the number 1 pick for any team next draft and is already being touted as a replacement for Peyton Manning this season!

Focusing on the first round of games. I thought the Steelers we're very poor. Ben Roethlisberger was not his usual self and well, for that matter, neither was the whole Steeler offensive line. The Colts are going to seriously struggle without Manning Dan that reflected on Sunday. The one thing to comment on was how good the Packers we're. They looked fantastic. Green Bay are my early pick this season, Aaron Rogers is looking quality! Expecting big things from Green Bay. My surprise package this season is also going to be the Bears or Rams, think both teams have a lot of potential this year.

WHOA! Looks like we got ourselves an intellectual here! How about we take him out back and some 'im how we do things in fucking 'Merica.

Seriously though, that's nice. American Football is awesome but doesn't cater to every sports fan, I personally can't stand Cricket, but my opinion of that stays outside of this forum.

There's nothing wrong with things that are dumb as shit. Total Recall is dumb as shit, it's also my favourite Arnie movie.

And to be fair, American Football is a sport where there's no room for subtlety on an individual level, no sense of flow, but that is on a wider tactical level, ludicrously over-complex. It's like war, where the people on the field really have no idea what's really going on, they just get told where to stand and where to run and when to collide at full speed with another dude.

Ah, I got you now. Well, to be fair, I've never actually played Cricket so it's probably far more fun than I give it credit for. American Football is...well awkward at times to say the least and at other times, you really get caught up in the atmosphere.

American Football is like a Lady Gaga or LMFAO song, completely horrible by yourself(at times) but when you go to a party(or in this case play it or see it live) you get swept up in the atmosphere and before you know it, you're fist-pumping and on your way to making some bad decisions.

Pac Man here. I'm almost certain I'm the only one here from Wisconsin. Therefore, they are MY team! Aaron Rodgers is a beast. All-time passer rating leader among quarterbacks who have thrown over 15,000 passing yards.

Even as a fan of the sport I can see that the comparison to war makes sense.

And Steph/Dan it's got fuck all to do with anti-American sentiment. Gildy doesn't really enjoy watching any sports. Not the NFL, or soccer or cricket or motor racing or anything else. So lay off the silly nonsense.

Its too stop start for me...crazy in depth tactics...from what I have observed, so I prefer my free running gut busting big hitting...etc, etc Australian Rules Football. Its not a bad game by any stretch, just doesn't interest me to watch beyond the one or two games I may see on TV over here.

Actually, a very good comparison. Playing NFL yourself is rather unappealing at most times, but with others around it is crazy. I think the thing that sets NFL off for me is the atmosphere and how closely supported each team is. I mean, what other sport could cause a small earthquake by the crowd making so much noise at a touchdown? That was one hell of a game and a moment that makes you proud to be a Seahawks fan.

In saying that, my favorite sport is Soccer/Football.
