Welcome to Daniel's official music Site. Here you will be updated with the latest on Daniel and his music. You can catch special messages, blogs and Vlog posts personally from Daniel.

Bio:

He's a songwriter of shameless lyrics. A singer of shyless whispers. A keyboardist of orgasmic keys. Many people knew him then for his "Banana" craze. Daniel first emerged in the music scene in 2010 and made headlines with his hit single "Banana Boy". Its racy self-made artwork (Which carried over to Anti-social) also generated buzz for its homoerotic meaning. Right then, people thought Daniel was going to try to become the next Stephanie Fierce or Miss Vanity. But after a few more appearances and what core fans call a disparaging single, Daniel decided to disappear from the scene to record his debut album "Anti-social". While many people moved on and even went on to consider him a one hit wonder, Daniel's true fans went on share the new experimental music with the world as it is slowly pushing copies.

Inspired by Green Leaf, Daniel wanted to continue the experimental music movement and express the shadiness and anger he had experienced with the music industry. Finally, "ROARR!" hit the airwaves, and after minor commercial success, Daniel went on to release his debut effort titled "Anit-social" which went on to be praised by the likes of "Chaos", "NME" and top artists. The album showcased Daniel's keyboard solo's and established Daniel as a keyboardist. However, Daniel wanted to make it very clear that mixing genres does not make you a true experimental artist. So he made his own unique instruments and used them on some of the songs. Other bands like Mind, and Infinite picked up on the experimental craze. And even after what the mainstream world might call disappointing sales, the album managed to get a few hit singles such as "Eternal Eargasm", "Love Isn't a Sin" and "Aliens". The album even earned him the "Breakthrough Album" award at the Music Hall of Fame.

After the album's success, Daniel went on to sign with Junction Records for a two album deal. With little or no promotion, Daniel released two EP's. The "Anti-social EP" and "Rio". Daniel released singles such as "Rio Piedras feat. The Rockers" and "Off To Eris", which were more rock oriented, than the previous material. Following those releases was a small hiatus. Daniel meantime, worked for Junction Records as a songwriter.

After a short disappearance, Daniel appeared at the 21st Birdies/International Music Awards. Stephanie Fierce who was host, stormed out of the stadium when her ex-husband suffered a heart attack. Surprisingly, Daniel then picked up as host for Stephanie Fierce for the remainder of the night. Daniel wore a tux as always.

Early Summer of 2011, Daniel became new rising owner of Junction Records and is now currently working on his sophomore album. Daniel re-signed with Hot Eye Records to release his new album.

Studio Albums:

Anti-social (July 13, 2010)
The X Bond (September 20, 2011)

EP's:
Anti-social EP (December 7, 2010) *released with Junction Records
Rio (February 1, 2011) *released with Junction Records

Official Single Releases:

R O A R R !

ROARR! - The lead single off the "Anti-social" album. The song entered at #20 on the top 20 Airplay charts, but failed to succeed any further on that chart. The song peaked with 840 spins. A music video was filmed for the song, but due to legal issues Daniel faced after stealing from a food market, it was never released.

The song talks about Daniel's determination, vengeance and domination in life. Daniel talks about the 2 sides of him without coming off as bi-polar. Daniel also takes shot at people who shamelessly steal music
and record labels. In the song Daniel claims that no one is a saint and that is normal to act human because of the evolution of
society. Towards the end of the song Daniel's transformation is clearly described, and suddenly he becomes a pregnant man.
The song shifts from pop to hard rock.

"This whole concept of this amazing and is something I'm proud of, because these are the types of songs that I write
when my creative juices are flowing. This song pretty much sums up the reason why I'm here and the process it took to get
here. The industry has evolved me, has pretty much molded me but I broke out of that. ROARR!"

A N T I - S O C I A L

Anti-social- The album opener and the second single off "Anti-social". The song peaked at #4 when first released on the Top 20 Airplay charts. The song eventually was then taken off the radio. Then later was re-released but despite only cracking the Top 10 it achieved 1,040 spins; a new record it didn't set before.

The track initially opens up with a more "louder than usual" tubular bell solo, which is then followed by whispery vocals all throughout. The song mainly talks about Daniel’s recent personal life as a an anti-social freak. In his free time, he is 25 Hours of the day (yes 25 hours; In Daniel's word there are 25 hours in a day) inside a dark room. Daniel talks about how he
rather listen to music alone than go out and interact with people. The only thing he interacts with is music. The song also
opens up about Daniel’s addiction with looking at the moon, therefore not being able to sleep. The song's whispering
chimes might give you a chill.

"This was the last song I wrote and recorded for the album. It's crazy because the album took nearly 9
months to make, and during the last three months was when I really starting recording and mixing almost all of it .
So the album was going to be called "The Last Trimester", it was like going through pregnancy of some sort. However,
then I realized all this time I had been pushing society away. I feel like to really express yourself and to really
demonstrate what you're really feeling, you have to do that. People have an influence on your feelings. So that's where
the inspiration for this song came from. It pretty much summarizes my whole experience of making this album."

L O V E - I S N ' T - A - S I N

Love Isn't a Sin- Is the third single and most successful song off "Anti-social". The song peaked at #3 on the Top 20 Airplay charts, achieving major commercial success. A music video features a cameo from singer songwriter Glamazon. It was the second Daniel song to achieve over 1,000 spins, with 1,120 spins it tied with Michelle Green that same week. The first real "real experimental" pop track and the only love song on the album. The track talks about about the freedom to love and contradiction people constantly make, when making judgement of homosexuals. It's first line "I'm not looking for controversy, I am looking for approval" is delivered strongly when sung. The production features a much quicker pace and the unique sound was made to mimic small rocks that make a distinct tubular sound. It almost sounds as if the instruments were given a "caveman music" touch.

"This song was written out of fury, but at the same time, it's something I want people to see as positive. Xavier who helped me mixed the track was worried that this song might turn out to be some mopy ballad, but as we kept progressing with the sound, some sort of edge developed within the track. What is love? is what came to my mind. When you kiss your friend on the cheek, you do it out of "LOVE". So is love a sin? Christians tend to talk about having love for one another. Even the enemies. So

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and
knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent
his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and
sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another
"-1 John 4:7–11

A lot of Christians then go on to contradict themselves by "JUDGING" others as if they were god or something. You can't say
someone is going to hell because they are sinning. You can't say anything period."

E T E R N A L - E A R G A S M

Eternal Eargasm- Is the fourth single off Anti-social, and features Daniel's take on the dance genre. After a performance of the song at the Hall of Fame Awards the song saw more mainstream appeal which allowed the song to have a high debut on the Top 20 Airplay Charts as the song debuted at #6 with 1,030 spins. However, Daniel saw no promotion opportunities with the label, so it dropped rapidly off the chart and a music video was then never considered for the song. Despite that, Daniel achieved his first #1 hit on the US Billboards Dance/Club Play Songs chart. The song is considered Daniel's sexiest moment in music, and is a fan favorite.

This groovy dance-oriented track basically is a trippy 8 minute instrumental-like song that will live lost for words. No doubt. Packed with wild moaning sounds and echoes, you might go "WTF" and then "Ahhh" all throughout. You'll come to realize the song is absolutely about nothing but sex rhythms. the songs production is propelled by many synth sounding beats created with a customized sound board. The song does include a 4/4 beat, but differentiates throughout the song at rapid, unexpected ways. The echoes and moaning play a big part on the "beat" substitution of the song, they also tackle 80's funk and psychedelic pop.

"This is how a filler track on a pop album would not sound like!"

A L I E N S

Aliens- Is the fifth and final single off "Anti-social". Daniel faced controversy after speaking out on the new Arizona illegal immigration law, which Daniel claimed to be racial profiling act. After being criticized from all corners, a music video was then filmed for the song. In the video, set in a upper-class white dominated neighborhood in Arizona, Daniel plays a 29 year old Mexican male, who has altered his image to fit in. The video mocks the idea of racial profiling and stereotypes within indiviuals. The video raised attention to the song, allowing it to debut and peak at #9 on the Top 20 Airplay charts. The song stayed on the charts for a few weeks.

"Aliens" is lyrically a highly substantial (avant-garde/electronic) track from Daniel's debut album "Anti-social". The futuristic sounding piece contains electronic influences found in many Sci-Fi movies. The song begins at a slow peace and electronically builds up its tempo, turning into a alternative fast dance track. The song somewhat includes stop and go guitar, as well as a trance-like production. Daniel's vocals grow more aggressive during the choruses.

In the song Daniels talk about the experiences of being a foreigner aka. "Alien". Adapting to whole new place where value and appreciation seems very low, and the effects it has on you as a person.

Dear www.danielmusic.com visitors,

It's been very long since I blogged. So hi to you all :), hope you're enjoying life and the wonderful music that's been released thus far this year. First of all, I want to give a big thank you to anyone supporting the new website. I'm excited to be back (almost there :P). I'm putting some last minute touches on my new album "The X Bond", before release.

"The X Bond", is an album based on my theory about the bond of two emotions that meet in opposite directions, creating the "X bond". In life, you sometimes are put in the X Bond position, were you have to deal with something, and/or someone that is completetly opposite of you. The sound also corollates to this idea, ad you'll hear and see. How do you keep a bond with that person or thing? That's where the X bond theory comes into place.

I re-started the album from scratch. The good news is, that nearly EVERY single track has been recorded. I would like to however, collaborate with ONE more singer. I'm interested in someone but I'm way too shy to ask, so that will be my next goal, right? I'll keep you updated on that. What I can say for right now, is that I collaborated and finished the track with Stephanie Fierce.

When I sent in the song, the label, as well as myself and Steph fell in love with it and they wanted it to be the first single. So my next announcemant will be that.... the collaboration with Stephanie Fierce. I'm gonna cut to the chase here, you're getting the lyrics and a free download of the song. Depending on the song's reception, the label will send it to radios and digital downloads. But I personally, as well as Steph want the fans to download the song for free. But if you want to support the song on the charts, it is best to purchase your copy and vote it on radio stations.

Either way I just want people to enjoy the new music. See you all very soon! - Daniel

"Cheap" feat. Stephanie Fierce

UserPostedImage UserPostedImage

Single artwork

Quote:

'Cheap', the first and lead single off Daniel's sophomore studio effort 'The X Bond' is written and produced by Daniel and Stephanie Fierce.

Daniel and Stephani Fierce take the sound of post-punk, gothic rock, basic violin composition, trance, dreamhouse all in one to make a fantastic love ballad. 'Cheap' is definitely something that should relieve many Daniel fans who been waiting for new music.

The song begins with a soft paced, gravity defying tribal beat that whimpers like an echo, somewhat familiar to "Faithless's- Insomnia", but with a more energetic gothic guitar driven support. It's quite refreshing the intro. Moments after, Stephanie begins to sing, portraying the vocals she did in "Dying in the Airwaves". Her vocals soft, but with sneaky confidence, she's singing lyrics that diss someone's love, by dismissing the fact her lover isn’t of value. "You are cheap, salty like blood, salty like the tears I weep, every time we rise, you fall like the rain, and you flood the streets to expose my pain". The moody guitar riff, glistens over the entire production in unexpected ways. However, if you think that sound is carried throughout the whole production, Daniel would be considered cheap himself. The production does not even kick in completely just yet. The pattern in the production that follows contains an elusive yet striking violin and drum machine that serves almost like an espresso that shall wake you once you hear it. It's literally good and fatal to the beginning of the song.

Daniel is known for his microscopic production, and with cheap, he serves very well. As you listen, the song seems to be dragged out by the lyrics, which are kept simple, over the strike of sound. There's no joking around, once Daniel's verse finally kicks in, you start witnessing a vocal challenge and Daniel seems to be having “shining” moment. Never have we heard Daniel sing with so much confidence and 'passion', it is almost as if they told him, “this will be the last song you will ever record". But Stephanie Fierce is such a classic singer, that she keeps calm and compliments Daniel’s vocals. Stephanie at any given time could blow Daniel out the water, but that doesn’t seem to happen here.

Daniel wants to remind people that experimental music isn’t only just about mixing genres. It still however isn’t experimental in the sense of the genre itself. Still it’s a great listen and it adds substance to the music released so far this year.

The song is expected to be released August 28, 2011 to radio and digital outlets. A music video is being filmed August 27, 2011. - Jerry Hopkins (Journalist of Rolling Stone)

Cheap feat. Stephanie Fierce

Here's a preview of the song:

Stephanie Fierce:
"You....are...... cheap. salty like the blood
salty like the tears I weep
Every time we rise, your spirit falls like the rain
and you flood the streets, to expose my pain

Daniel:
It's..... not.... my... fault.
that my heart blossoms.... like a black rose
but it's not that simple
my heart is crippled, but my love is restless
and it could jump from place to place,
from town to town
until someone shares their crown

Stephanie Fierce & Daniel:
It's not that simple
We're so easy to give in
so easy to give in......

THE X BOND

UserPostedImage
Album Cover

About the Album:

First Song: "A LULLABY FOR THE KING"
Written and Recorded in June 2011 at home and personal studio.

Like my last album, I'm not closing the door to my emotions for this album lyrically nor vocal wise. I wanted this album to have a personal first song. A song that wasn't written in the form an introduction however. Each song is individual and they don't build up in quality. The first thing I wanted to speak about, was the imaginary bond me and my father have.

As I've just stated, "A lullaby for the King" is a song dedicated to my father; or 'sperm donor' as my mother liked to call him (laughs). My mom has always good sense of humor. Anyways, I've never really been 'vocal' about my father, simply because I don't understand nor comprehend how it happened; how my father abandoned me and my sister. There is no logical reason as to why he left me, other than the fact that he had an illness. I still however, feel there is an imaginary connection or bond between me and him. Which I find very interesting. I never believed in that sort of connection. However, It's one of the reasons, my inspiration grew to write "A Lullaby for the King". My mom says he's living through me and she sees a lot of him in me. I know My father is still alive, but I have not contacted him nor do I know where he is at the moment. So how am I able to have this sort of connection? I just would like to know why and how is there an imaginary bond still there. The most powerful lyrics in the song has to be "If you let me drown, even the ocean would not be able to fill my lungs. So I'll just sink until you find me.".

Somehow I was able to pick up a keyboard, and compose this song right on the spot. I normally don't like to do it that way, even though that somehow makes you a more "gifted" musician. I did tweak the instrumentation of the song in the studio, to bring out and compliment the emotion I was filling. I didn't want to actually put anyone to sleep. The song actually has an interesting composition and I can't wait for the listeners to hear it. Random instruments at their best.

About the Album (cont.):

Second Song: "USED"
Written and Recorded in June 2011 at home and personal studio.

"All it take is adaptation, all it takes is just a smile", that's what I wrote in "Rio Piedras". those are the lyrics I am most proud of til this day. "Used" is a song I wrote about the decreasing strength and value within myself. When I suffer from depression, there is weight I carry. Which is almost contradictory to that since on the wall of my studio, I have in big letters "Adaptation and Acceptance". Those are the two most important things in my life and my only setback is the fact that I'm weak in the mind. And I did had that sort of mindset when I wrote "Used" It's almost as if I take everything, and put it on my shoulders. As depression grows, the weight grows heavier and heavier. A song that's pretty much about negative value (which is a common theme on this album) however, how you make that sort of analyzation or connection with yourself is beyond me. A lyrical highlight of the song is "I'm carrying the world, when the world should be carrying me. I'm almost ready to drop like the tear of a second place winner."

I placed this as the second song, simply because I thought to myself, let's take a break from the depressing piano stuff and let's bring something more layered and interesting to the album, without going too far from the radar. In the vocal department, I was inspired by R&B vocalists from the 90's like "Keith Sweat". They have that distinctive rhythm and voice that you can't really replicate. This isn't R&B music, but you can simply add a R&B instrumental to the acapella and it become an R&B song. I'm really happy the way vocals came out in this song, because is somewhat groovy, even though it's a depressing message, you can sing a long and still feel great. Opposites in its best.
