As Eric Quillington is still going through drug-withdrawal, he has forced it upon himself to not drink. As a result, he's lying on his back on top of the bar table, playing a cover of The Shins' 'New Slang' with his acoustic guitar, in order to prevent drinks from being served. Out of sight, out of mind.

This has, of course, lead to several thirsty patrons becoming rather enraged.
