Kayla always had ambitions of making it big in the world of music, and at the age of 16 she taught herself how to play guitar. In attempt at following her dreams, she moved to California at aged just 19, she bought a cheap apartment and spent all her money on showcasing and recording her music. Kayla however faield to impress major labels from her time in LA and this resulted in her becoming broke and being forced to move back home to Philly just 12 months later. Kayla got a job as a waitress at her local restaurant and worked there until she had built up enough money to follow her dreams again. On her 21st birthday, her parents gave her enough money to record several demos in a cheap recording studio in Memphis where she successfully recorded and self-produced 4 demos. Kayla then started debuting her recorded material at her local clubs and bars. After positive acclaim from her local newspapers/critic's she started playing on a wider scale, touring the east coast as a support act in an Unsigned Act's Tour. At 22 years old now, Kayla feels she is now ready for her second and perhaps final attempt at tackling the music industry, together with her father as he manager. Here I Am was written originally about about my teddy bear when i was younger, which my parents said went into space (they lost it) and it won't come back. So yeah, i am currently in the studio recording for my debut EP/Album - i haven't quite made my mind up yet - with a very special guest, Hayden Merjos! Have you missed me? Probably not. More like forgotten me! Hehe. Anyways, so over the past 3-4 months ive been writing an EP.. which will now in turn be released as an 8-track album! Im super stoked about this. Its been a weird past few months. I got signed.. which actually, delayed things, getting legal things sorted out, but im so lucky to have support from Chaos Records. To have a major label like that behind you, its crazy. Anyway, I also performed in England with Aaron Marks and Sammy Griffen. To play with 2 talented musicians like those boys, was the best experience in my life. To play music before them at such big venues with so much kids was.. incredible. I can't thank them 2 enough for their support! But of course, love and heartbreak follows me around everywhere. That has been a real influence for my debut, its a roller coaster ride of an LP! First stop getting a new single out. I really want to get something out for you guys, just a big thank you for staying patient with me! I know it may seem like ive been doing nothing, but in truth, ive been super super busy! A release date? Hmm, maybe early Feb but I might give you a sneak premier a the end of this month :)! Just because im sooo nice! LP just needs mixing now and then its complete! After it gets mixed, ill send it to the record label, and get their thoughts on it. All being well,it should be on the shelves around March. Once again, thank you so so much for staying patient! I can't wait to get this new music out! Love Kayla
