Ryan: I probably won't sleep for the next week and continue to change the track listing until the very last second. It's gonna be a busy year. Oh gosh, my girlfriend is so needy for attention. If you go to every date, could you at least roleplay as a groupie from that specific city, accent and all? If you agree to that, I wouldn't mind having you on tour and not flirt with every woman I see. :p

BLOG #006: The Running Changes Cycle Begins

Finally. After spending agonizing days, weeks, and months. Spending the last 9 in a half months, 41 weeks; writing, recording, producing, engineering, mixing, and mastering my new album. I can finally take that deep and long sigh of relief when I say that Running Changes is completed in its entirely. Only two mastered copies of the album exist at the moment, one that I have kept, and the other which I turned into the executives at Studio60 Records. My guess is that they will hear it once then store it in a vault until the release date nears because I've gotten a promise from the bosses that this album will not leak. Everyone will hear it exactly two months from today, on November 25th. I'm so incredibly proud of this album. I don't feel I have the right to say this is my best album yet because I feel the public and the fans should decide that on their own. The listeners have the right to get on message boards and fight and argue with others about which album of mine they believe is the best. If anything, which should be the case with every artist and band who puts out a new record, Running Changes shows growth from me; As a musician, as a songwriter, as a singer, as a producer. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel. Musicians who attempt to reinvent the wheel either fall flat on their faces in their attempt, or have one very interesting album then become irrelevant.

With this new album, I feel as though I've challenged myself in a whole new way. This album is the first time I've ever played piano in a recording. As I did with playing guitar, I'm also a self-taught pianist. The difference between Ryan Ross Hernandez, the guitarist, and Ryan Ross Hernandez, the pianist; is that the guitarist in me is much more confident than the pianist side of me will ever be. I played piano on a few of songs on this album. No one should ever fear that I'll leave my a real study in craftsmanship and understated guitar ninja-dom behind. Playing guitar was my first musical love, and it will stay that way. I'll never be as good of a pianist as I am a guitarist. Both instruments compliment each other beautifully, and this record will be a perfect example of that. A perfect example of an album, that was made with the mindset of treating it as such, and not as a set of individual songs. Sadly, we live in an era where singles matter more to artists and record labels than full albums. I'm not one of those artists. I'm a very traditional guy when it comes to making albums. Every single song is just as important when recording, and after it is all set and down, that's when we debate on which should be singles. At the end of the day, when the smoke clears and the sun rises; artists who create classic, timeless albums - will always matter more than those who have twenty number-one singles.

Running Changes is an album that takes it all back to basics, in every aspect.

Running Changes isn't a concept album in the sense that it's all this one piece of work following this one thing, be it lyrically or musically. It has bits and pieces that connect all the songs on the album together because to make a good album, to make a classic album, you need to have that dynamic. I've reached a point in my career where I don't feel I have to blow people's minds' anymore. I don't want to create great singles anymore, I want to create great albums. So I guess Running Changes is somewhat of a concept record. I really had to make this record as a person with a really open heart, not a defensive heart. This record is as honest and as blunt in a way, as I could possibly be caught on record. No one puts as much honesty and takes from their own lives to write a record as I do.

I'm not concern about how the media or tabloids are going to read into these songs. I've become use to them deciphering every lyric I write to a point that it loses its meaning to that person, and I don't care for those people who are so fickle with my music. I'm a better writer than anyone at Chaos Uncut or People Magazine or Us Weekly. The stuff I write, the songs I write are timeless. The stuff people at any of those tabloids write lasts about a minute, if even that long, before it vanishes into thin air.

Period. As I stated previously, Running Changes is complete, and it will be released on Friday, November 25th, 2011, worldwide. We may move that up a few days depending on a few factors but it will be released sometime that week in November. The first single off of the record will be released this coming Tuesday, September 27th, to all digital outlets. I believe the first single will serve well as an introduction for what people can expect from Running Changes. This time we aren't choosing the single that is most radio-friendly or 'poppy', we are just choosing the song that gives people the best overall view as to what the album will be.

I'm greatly ecstatic to begin this new album cycle. I should enjoy the few months I will have outside of the studio before I begin seriously working on the follow-up to Running Changes. After LP #5 is released, I might consider a few changes in my life, but that's no worry now. The Running Changes cycle begins now and it's gonna be a unforgettable ride. A new single coming in a matter of hours. The tour with my buddies in PANIC! is starting this coming Friday. Promotional interviews, magazine covers, talk show appearances and performances. A lot of good stuff are coming, and hope you are all fans of mine, if not you will likely get sick of me very quickly. If you're already not, of course. So, cheers to you all. I hope to see you all somewhere in this new cycle.

- Ryan Ross Hernandez

Ryan: I am a bit nervous about actually letting piano recordings of mine out to the public. I've played piano, somewhat, for the last few years, but never have I actually played it on one of my records. It's a new challenge and I'm happy that while I'm now a veteran of sorts, I'm still able to grow.

Ryan: No, no. My ego can surely be inflated more. I've let the public know that I'm a fabulous lover, yet I haven't had anyone go on record to say that of me. You have first hand experience. That's how you can inflate my ego more. I would be a nice person and let you hear it before the release date, but I am a bit paranoid with this album, and I think you might leak it. :p I apperciate it you being excited about it. I've cheated on you quite a bit with this album. I apologize. :)

Glamazon: I may have once questioned my decision on working with an idiot like Ryan Ross Hernandez, but then I realised that he's an idiot who makes good music, and the song we made turned out to be fucking amazing. Also, we actually got on well enough in the studio for our song to be made and I didn't even feel the urge to kill him, so that's another bonus. But yeah, just musically speaking, this looks wildly fantastic, I adore the song titles and it all looks really well thought out. By the way, that limited edition package? It's a genius money-making plan.

Ryan Ross Hernandez: An idiot who makes good music? I would have rather heard an idiot who's a musical genius but that's probably the nicest compliment you can muster up, so I'll take it. The song we made together is a memorable one. If the idea alone of hearing us make a song together isn't crazy enough, when they hear the song they'll really be taken aback with it all. Thank you... for not wanting to kill me??

Also, instead of anyone complaining about the 100 dollar package, just buy the CD or move right along. I don't care. The music industry is a business, and I am as fair with my fans as I can possibly be. But at the end of the day, the label has to make a profit as well. I get around 2.00 dollars per sale of an album. Doing the math in my head, I just realized something.... I'm the One Percent.

Ryan: Hey, no one is stopping you buddy. I'm not 'Mr. Having Sex With Tons of Beautiful Women and Making Millions a Year', at least not this year. I've only fucked like three or four women this year and only made a couple of millions so far. And just to clarify that statement; I'm not the one percent, rather I'm likely within the one percent in America.

Ryan: That's absolutely fine. I would think after I referred to you as a poor man's version of me, that I wouldn't be in your favorites list. I can respect the fact that you aren't judging my attitude or public persona outside of music, in making your judgement on my art. Above everything, music is my top priority.

€71.99 for the Deluxe Edition? Worth it. One of the many perks I have is being a fucking millionaire, so times like these makes me glad to be a rock-star. With all due respect to my dearest ol' pal Jason, I'll always consider you to be the best solo artist in the world. And I'm sure practically every human being on the planet agrees. Or, at least, every woman you've ever courted. But those two numeral figures are pretty much the same, right?

-Eric Quillington
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

Ryan: I don't understand why people complain. I'm giving them something that in my opinion, if you have the money, it's well worth it. I'm not just putting a sticker on the disc that says of 1000 copies and selling it like it's some bullshit exclusive. It's actually something worth while if you are a diehard fan of my work. With respect to both you and Jason, and every other solo artist alive, I agree with that statement. Haha, well there is more women in the world than men, so my guess would be that the figures are not too far apart. I hope there is no hard feelings with the fact that I worked with your girlfriend on a song. Now, don't think that means you can play the same card back at me and now have a collaboration with Nadia, because I'm jealous when it comes to her.

Ryan Ross Hernandez Presents: The Holiday Album

Ryan Ross Hernandez has a special holiday gift for both this naughty and nice fans this year. The release of Running Changes is just about three weeks away, but RRH fans won't have to wait that long to have an album's worth of new music from the acclaimed singer-songwriter. They'll just have to wait a little over a week. On November 7th, the multi International Music Award and Chaos Award winning artist will be releasing his new(er?)album called Ryan Ross Hernandez Presents: The Holiday Album. In secrecy, while recording his also upcoming album, Running Changes, RRH was working on a batch of Christmas songs for his first holiday album.

Hernandez commented, "My favorite time of the year has always been between Thanksgiving and New Years Day. I love the holiday season. So naturally it's been a dream of mine to make a Christmas record, that didn't necessarily fall into the category of cheesy and uncreative. I wanted to make an album that captured the spirit of the holiday season in general. It's a concept album, when you think about it. It's kind of telling a story from the point of view of a man, living in New York City, from Thanksgiving to New Years. If you've heard any of my albums, you'll get the idea that this isn't just some other Holiday album. Also, my mother told me it's the best record I've ever made. She hates all my other records."

The Holiday Album, Part I, is self-produced by Ryan Ross Hernandez, and was recorded primarily at Avatar Studios in New York City. The CD includes six original songs written by Hernandez. It also features RRH putting his unique take on such classics as "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," "All I Want for Christmas Is You," and "Santa Baby."

In conjunction with the release of The Holiday Album, Hernandez is scheduled to appear at New York City's Rockefeller Center for the NBC Christmas Tree Lighting Special, on November 30th.

Fans who have already pre-ordered the Running Changes Special Limited Edition Package, won't need to worry, as The Holiday Album will now be included with their package.

The track listing for The Holiday Album will be announced Sunday, October 30th, 2011.
