"Everyone may know this blonde bombshell as Brittany Knox... one of the most recognizable acts in recent times and an inspiration for underdogs all over the world. Of course, this feint was hard to achieve as her debut album Mannequin released in 2010 came with heavily mixed reviews and a ton of controversy and media scrutiny reigning over the star for quite some time. Most calling the album "as generic as pop can get". Following her war with media Brittany took a hiatus from the music business and the star took it upon herself to find a new Knox in herself while gone, exploring different music and getting inspired by other things to write about other than clubs, and other general topics. But more songs that relate to her personally. This all was all shown when Brittany re-emerged with a totally new sound and a slew of great tracks on her E.P Halfway There, which catapulted Knox into superstar following the New Wave/Wave Pop smashes Truce and her most notable song at the time "Me Against The World" which reached number one in many countries including topping radio charts...

Its all about Epoch.........My name is Tiffany and I joined Brittany at her vacation site on the beautiful island of Hawaii for this broadcast ....





It is a total honor to be here with you today Brittany, how are you?
I'm doing amazing, it is an honor here to be talking to you also Tiffany. Thanks for traveling here for the broadcast we well. I really appreciate it.



A lot of your fans are waiting for this new album Epoch, before I get to that. Let me first ask about your well being and things that happened in the last weeks.
*Smiles* Okay





Last month there was a reported hospital scare that eventually caused you to go on this extended break. Could you tell us about that?
Well I've never really gotten a chance to clear the air or to talk about it but what happened was that I was really exhausted, I was all over the place really. I was recording the album, actually just got finished with it and I put a lot of me not only during the writing process but especially into the studio. When everyone hears the album, I just want them to know that for the song that are listening to I did about a million times just to get the right material out of it. I was neurotic and such a perfectionist when it came to the album because I really want it to be enjoyable... so I finish recording the album and during recording the album I was also filming a movie. I would literally go from hours of filming.. straight to the recording studio... from the recording studio.. straight to rehearsals and practices.. and from their, back to the studio. And so on so forth. I wasn't actually paying attention to my own well being and I feel so stupid for not listening to my friends and family who were telling me to take it easy because I was starting to look exhausted, it didn't exactly click into my head because I was in a fastlane...hell, I didn't sleep for days since I was working. Whatever.. kept on doing what I was doing and one day I was rehearsing ..and I just felt like my body was giving out on me. Its hard to explain, I couldn't say I felt tired.. couldn't say I felt sick.. I just didn't feel right. From there.. I never went to the hospital, a lot of people got that mixed up and rumors started swarming that I was hospitalized and stuff that's all false...from their I went on home. I got a doctor to come to my home and he pretty much said I'm exhausted and sleep deprived. Right then and their I felt like I needed to end whatever I was doing and tend to myself for sometime. So that's what I did.. within the next few days I ended up here in Hawaii.. but now I am SO much better. Just feeling amazing.





I am so happy you are feeling better, before you went on a break, you performed at The Chaos awards and most recently at A Concert For Angel, how was it performing?
They were both really special experiences. The Chaos Awards was a huge show for me and I really had an amazing time doing the Miss Vanity tribute with Electrodeath. That was really something that changed my life forever performing there. I really gave my all! And a concert for Angel was also really special. I felt so sorry for Matty and Cherise since I know them both, and I really had to support them. The song I sung was also the hardest song I've ever sang and people said I nailed it. I loved performing their especially in the name of Angel... Rest In Piece.




After both events you quieted down and went on vacation ...so how exactly is it?!
I love Hawaii! Its beautiful! I've done some writing... I've swam alot hehehe...... I've spent time with Jake and some other family and I've just had so much fun, it was nice getting away from everything and actually enjoying peace and quiet, no makeup and all that stuff for a while ..even right now I'm completely makeupless *luaghs)... But I miss my fans and I miss the fast life so much. But this is what I needed.



While you were away, you released Bonnie's Redemption which was produced by Jason Smith. Surprisingly without much promo it managed to go platinum, and is still selling, were you expecting to perform so well on both radio and digitally?
I actually didn't! Bonnie's Redemption.. probably one of my favorite tracks on the album was really a full on New Wave.. no apologizing song. I felt a bit nervous when releasing it but wanted to really take the chance with a song that was my fans weren't use to since it was a bit more on the New Wave/Rock side. But it was really a success and if fans loved Desert Paradise and Bonnie's Redemption which kinda are the opposite of each other but at the same time mirror eachother.. their going to love Epoch totally.






So we are confirming here today that Brittany Knox back to work?
Yes.. after this interview I'm flying out to the States.. and then the United Kingdom!






What are your plans now that you are fully back on?
Getting the album out.. that's number one. I also want to get onto other things as well that a lot of fans will love..






This is probably some big news for fans who are watching! Aside from what we've heard in Desert Paradise, Bonnie's Redemption, and Industry Assassins which could be listened to on the albums website. What is the initial sound of the album?
This time I really wanted a really strong album. Think Halfway There on steroids.. much stronger.. and not so depressing. Halfway There was a really slow.. and calm with more of a pop influence along with New Wave. This album is much mainly influenced by New Wave like Halfway There... but much more experimental...There's some dance music fused in it as well..I fell in love with New Wave and Dance music which we call Electro Clash....so expect that.. and also ...really personal and deep and by far the best work I have done yet. I really wanted to do new things and get a new sound going and I'm happy the fans are happy with it. I feel like it fits me... and its just great for me as an artist and for my music.





You also confirmed a song about... Jake Wilson, is this true?
Yes I have. I wrote a song that is going to be on the album which is about Jake. It's a beautiful song. I'm sure the fans and Jake himself will love it just as much as I love him AND the song *laughs*.





Are their any plans for you to go touring? A lot of fans were urging me to answer this question since you haven't gone on tour since Halfway There.
I can confirm a big tour is in the works. There's so many places where my fans wanna see me where I haven't reached and this time the tour will go great lengths. I'm actually really excited for the tour. I'm ready to get on stage!





What new single for Epoch? Could you tell us about it?..
There is a single coming and just know its a classic. Desert Paradise and Bonnie's Redemption really became staple songs for my career and I appreciate the big success of both songs so this one I had to raise the bar. Cant exactly give you the name but it will be released before Epoch's release.






How was it working with the The Rockers who are confirmed for the album. How did it feel working with such legends?
It was unbelievable. Johnny is a legend. I was sort of nervous and star struck when I got the chance to meet and speak with him before we recorded. And for him to be interested in working with me completely blew me away. He was really helpful in the studio and is such an expert and we really came up with something that is unforgettable and unexpected. And that's what always makes the best stuff I believe. Things that aren't so predictable, and I've learned that.




What artists are have you been listening to on vacation?
Of course Hannah Beth obviously. I always have loved her music because she blows me away, Glamazon, Cherise's album I play, Jason Smith, Ryan Ross Hernandez, PANIC! is back and I love their new track, that's always on repeat. Alicia Lena of course, Misery Loves Company, I've listened to both New Born and Free by Stephanie Fierce which were both unforgettable and iconic albums..Katie Coyle.. love her.. Michelle Green who I love so much as well...of course Eric Quillington's stuff and the list goes on and.. on. I also have been watching Celebrity Big Brother...*laughs* I've listened to alot of music while I was here.
