Right, I've come back to this. #1 is Crowbar - Planets Collide #2, 3, 4 & 5 are too hard to do on just their own. My gut feeling though would be for Acid Bath - When The Kite String Pops, Burzum - Filosofem, Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics & Life Of Agony - River Runs Red. But really the LOA & Wizard are both picks I had to think about, the first 3 came to mind a lot easier. After that it's just hard to break them down. Edited by user 03 June 2009 09:38:02(UTC)

Though it's hard to be definitive, here's five important ones.
Brian Wilson - Smile As it was always meant to be. Old Man Gloom - Seminar III: Zozobra This 27 minute song contains almost everything I ever wanted from listening to music. Paul Simon - Graceland For such a popular singer songwriter, dude has an odd melodic sensibility. Philip Glass - Solo Piano A man, playing a piano, how good could it be, right? This good. Boris - Flood 70 minutes of a single song. Gigantic crescendos, one massive crushing melody over and over until your brain can't take it anymore. |

They're all by James and I wouldn't know what order to put them in. "Laid" would top it I think. |

Has this been released? I've heard the hype, and also that it's loads different than previous efforts. I havn't heard any of the songs myself, but I'll probably pick up the CD as soon as it's out. What's your take? |

Rule no. 1, as with any TBS album, NEVER compare with "Tell All Your Friends" like every schmo on the absolutepunk.net forum does for example. Take it as it's own.
Otherwise, bar a couple of smaller moments, a very very good solid album. Anything you may have heard - ie "Sink Into Me" or the title track - are vastly different from what else is on there. Notable moments I'd vouch for are "Swing" and "Capital M-E", oh and "Everything Must Go". AMAZING closer. |
